Will not stoop in persecuting Brexiteers. Childish namecalling 'thick', 'racist' 'gammon', and now the vexatious private prosecution against Boris Johnson which was quashed before it even got to court.

Oh, there's 'getting rid of red tape' which means tearing up all the regulations which compel large companies to pay their employees a reasonable wage and not risk killing them. There's the potential to make the UK into even more of a tax haven for crooks than it is now. And, to some of the most fevered wingnuts, there's this delicious wank fantasy of putting white British straight men, however thick, repulsive and incompetent, back in their 'natural' position as the most superior beings in the world...

Myothercarisalsoshit · 08/06/2019 01:20

Don’t forget selling off the NHS to the highest bidder. Privatising schools. Doing away with social care. Further cuts to benefits. Eating the poor and elderly (ok I made that last one up but I wouldn’t put it past them)

SistemaAddict · 08/06/2019 02:38

Aren't all the laws for the 28 nations decided by the 28 nations? People often talk of the EU dictating to us but we are the EU along with the other 27 member states. It's not them and us. We are part of the whole. We have MEPs there to represent our nation, just as the other countries have MEPs to represent them. No matter what your view on brexit, how the EU actually works needs to be understood.

Walkingdeadfangirl you didn't reply as to what freedoms we don't have as part of the EU.

Theworldisfullofgs · 08/06/2019 06:28

Given the shit show of our current government that's quite a tempting offer....

Theworldisfullofgs · 08/06/2019 06:30

That was to wqlkingdeadgirl

HiJuice · 08/06/2019 06:48

Hmm. I don't see how anyone can think Leavers are not thick. It's impossible to go along with 'everyone has their own reasons for voting leave' as the only reason to support leave is if you are privately rich and stand to gain huge sums, which clearly does not apply to most Leavers.
Some Leavers were taken in by lies, others want to regain British sovereignty without understanding what this is or how we will actually lose influence when we are outside the EU. Most Leavers (including mps) seem to wilfully misunderstand how the EU works. The UK actually has a really good deal currently - both financially and in terms of influence.
Sad to say there are plenty of Leavers who are both thick and racist as evidenced by the fact that they think leaving will mean fewer Muslims when obviously the opposite is true.

Ivegotthree · 08/06/2019 06:56

YANBU

It's pathetic and anti-liberal.

slipperywhensparticus · 08/06/2019 07:02

I know some people voted leave to save the NHS they are fucking mortified now

Thewheelsarefallingoff · 08/06/2019 07:09

I just don't understand what leavers are thinking. It's not the height of the British Empire. We are a small island, we were well respected (given our size) before this catastrophe. "Leave means leave" - go on then, find your own island, we'll remain, thanks

BillywilliamV · 08/06/2019 07:24

After everything that has happened, all the experts, all the evidence; then if you still want to leave you ARE stupid!

Theworldisfullofgs · 08/06/2019 07:26

ivegotthree
But lying isn't pathetic?

Isatis · 08/06/2019 07:29

Johnson blatantly lied, and he knew he was lying. He is not doing it because he genuinely thinks Brexit is best for the country, but because it is best for him and his rich mates. I struggle to feel the least bit sorry for him.

Isatis · 08/06/2019 07:30

Pray tell is there any laws you would be unwillingly to accept from the foreign governments of the EU.

I'm going to need a translation before answering that one.

TapasForTwo · 08/06/2019 07:36

They are downsizing where I work with yet more redundancies as a direct result of Brexit Hmm

Also our biggest export market for what little the UK manufactures is Europe. I'm baffled why anyone voted for this shitshow.

Isatis · 08/06/2019 07:39

Had a discussion the other day with a Brexiteer who was foaming at the mouth about accepting laws dictated by unelected foreigners. When I asked him what he thought MEPs do, he had no clue.

Back in early March, he also dismissed concerns about having no aviation agreements in place as from 29th March, by reference to the Millennium Bug, and of course he was by no means the only Brexiteer using that argument. I'm sorry, if you really think there are any points of similarity, you deserve to be described as thick.

AnalUnicorn · 08/06/2019 07:44

The way I see it, there are a lot of arseholes on both sides of the Brexit spectrum. We are not going to get anywhere by constantly slagging each other off

tomtom1999xx · 08/06/2019 07:52

What AnalUnicorn said.
I just wish it was over one way or the other, either leave or revoke A50.
It’s all this delay & uncertainty. At least once we know what’s definitely happening we can move forward as a country.

Sebeya · 08/06/2019 07:56

@Walkingdeadfangirl

Were you not aware that the UK is a member of the EU? The referendum was about whether we wanted to leave. Sorry, I can’t see another way of interpreting your post.

12goldstars · 08/06/2019 08:03

Walkingdeadfangirl that just isn’t true about EU law. Perhaps you should read about it properly rather than just regurgitating the Daily Mail. The EU passes directives which require us to achieve a standard. They don’t tell us how to do it, we make our own legislation. This covers things like the environment, employment law and health and safety. As our environment doesn’t stop at our border, it is important that issues are dealt with at at least a level the size of the EU. I’m not sure why you wouldn’t want to protect it. Our employment laws actually go above any beyond the EU’s requirements in many places. The EU just protects them and again I don’t see why we wouldn’t want this.
There are also regulations but other than the free movement of labour, unless you work in a very specific industry, then I doubt you would even notice most of them. Why don’t you tell us specifically which laws which you have ‘unwillingly accepted’ that you would get rid of.

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 08/06/2019 08:09

A female MP has been assassinated for being a Remainer and many others have had threats made against their lives. But it's the likes of Johnson and Farage that OP feels sympathy for. Won't somebody please think of the rich, white men!! They just can't catch a break, can they?

They would rather destroy this country than let us have our freedom back again

You said you were happy to expand on this but you haven't given a clear answer. What, specifically, are you not free to do now that you will be free to do once we leave the EU?

slipperywhensparticus · 08/06/2019 08:14

Freedom to stay at home and die happy in the knowledge that everything we had is gone as the politicians of this country couldnt run a piss up in a brewery

Binkybix · 08/06/2019 08:17

I just wish it was over one way or the other, either leave or revoke A50.

Unfortunately, if we leave (particularly with no deal) it’s really the beginning and not the end at all. No deal means we will have a heck of a lot of work to do still - we’ll just be doing it from a weaker position.

I know people who are very smart who voted leave, and know a lot about the EU, having worked there or with them. I’m sure they are the exception. From what I can glean it’s really about how you view fundamental principles and what’s important, plus thinking economic analysis is overblown. Not saying I agree however!

bellinisurge · 08/06/2019 08:18

I know personally and love a few Leave voters. Others I'm civil too because that makes the world go round. Others are unutterable twats that have dragged this country to the brink with their stupid self serving lies.
Isn't that how it is.

bellinisurge · 08/06/2019 08:22

If you are a no Dealer, yes you are stupid and I make no apologies for continually calling you that. If you voted Leave but are not a no Dealer, you and I have a difference of opinion. Leave (not No Deal) prevailed and I accept that.
No Dealers can fuck off.

frumpety · 08/06/2019 08:27

OP I don't think the court hearings have done Boris any harm. Those who think him a self serving mendacious arse, still do. Those who think him a loveable rogue and a bastion of Brexit, probably see him as someone who has been wronged by the elite/far left/snowflakes/traitors, who expect a smidgen of integrity in those who hold office.
