£175 for this... AIBU to complain?

[HairHell]

Went to SAKS. Never paid this much for a hair-do in my life, but really wanted a great ombre-balayage and saved up for it.

This is what I got. I'm so upset. Didn't realise it was this bad in the salon under the soft lighting in a corner of the salon with no natural light.

Spent 4 hrs (twice the amount of time she said it'd take, so she also had to tend to 2 other clients inbetween doing my hair). Came out feeling sick, dizzy and rushing off to pick DS up from MIL who needed to go out so didn't get chance to really look at it til I got home.

Can I complain now that I've left the salon?

Hi all. So sorry for keeping you hanging. I've had the busiest week ever and DH has been working away so had nobody to take after pics. Tried getting my 5 yr old to do it but alas he's no photographer

I returned and got it fixed. Another 3 hrs to re-do but it looks much better. Been told it'll need doing again if I want it as light as the Pinterest pics I showed, but tbh I'm done with it. It's not hideous so it'll do as it is.

MIL said "it doesn't look any different" but she's always been a bit snipey about my appearance DH says she's jealous and I know it DOES look different so I'm taking her comment with a pinch of salt so I don't continue feeling crap.

I got a few hair product freebies. No refund but I didn't ask. Was just glad to have it fixed and won't be returning. I'm just going to chalk it up to yet another bad hairdressing experience and not bother again for another 18 months until I'm looking straggly!

I think the bad stylist got the sack. The apprentice who helped her was there though. Decided I wasn't going to act guilty or awkward and brazened it out. Apprentice couldn't have been nicer tbh though and went out of her way to fuss over me when I arrived, but salon manager assured me nobody else would work on my hair except their top stylist, even down to washing my hair.

It's the special occasion tomorrow and I'll be curling it, so you won't get a proper comparison pic. But will post pics asap when it's straight so you can see the technique and you can all tell me how it still looks shit and that I've been ripped off

I wouldn't worry about the fact you didn't say anything in the salon I'd just say in that lighting you couldn't tell etc
