Hallelujah! Good riddance to bad rubbish!!

OP posts:
Minnie881 · 15/05/2019 10:17

Agree completely. It's been on for too long and exploits those who need the most support. It is billed as entertainment but it is very sad, good riddance I think.

WatchingFromTheWings · 15/05/2019 10:17

Good. Nasty little man.

Stressedout10 · 15/05/2019 10:18

Now we just need to get rid of big brother and all other reality TV

Picklypickles · 15/05/2019 10:18

Good!

Angellucy07 · 15/05/2019 10:20

It should have been axed a long time ago!

Costacoffeeplease · 15/05/2019 10:22

Big brother has already been dropped

Bloke23 · 15/05/2019 10:25

Love island needs to go aswell, 2 suicides and 3rd if you include Sophie's boyfriend

Samind · 15/05/2019 10:25

Happy to hear this!

mabelsgarden · 15/05/2019 10:26

Whoop whoop! Punches fist in the air and does happy dance!

Nasty toxic show, and a nasty toxic man.

People are going on about how Love Island should be axed now (as 2 people from that committed suicide after suffering depression.) But I don't think you can compare the two.

The Kyle show has been toxic and nasty for several years now, with goady Kyle baiting and poking at the guests, shouting in their faces, calling them names. ridiculing them, and parading them around like circus animals. Love Island is nothing like the JEREMY KYLE show.

There has been a lot of controversy around the Kyle show for a while now, and this was just the last straw I think.

I am so happy it's gone, because my DH watched it, and when he was at work he recorded it and watched it later. So I either had to watch it or leave the room!

GOOD RIDDANCE TO AN AWFUL SHOW!

Couldn't be happier that it's gone!

And yes, Big Brother has gone too. ANOTHER show that used to be OK, but turned very toxic and nasty.

Persimmonn · 15/05/2019 10:26

GOOD!!! But someone had to die for it to happen. I hope all the people involved in the show are ashamed of themselves. And Jeremy Kyle: I hope this death is on your conscience forevermore you vile little twat.

badlydrawnperson · 15/05/2019 10:28

BB was never OK IMHO.

YouSayPotatoesISayVodka · 15/05/2019 10:30

I’m very pleased that JK has been axed, should have happened sooner. However, it seems now is a good as time as ever to look at the likes of love island and the suicides of people who’ve taken part in that show. In fact most of ITVs schedule should be examined: there’s an awful lot of their programmes that seem to centre around taking advantage of the vulnerable and the aftercare is apparently non existent.

happyhillock · 15/05/2019 10:30

Happy Day's, Jeremy Kyle a horrible little man.

Alsohuman · 15/05/2019 10:31

Excellent news.

jaseyraex · 15/05/2019 10:31

Such a shame someone had to die for this to finally happen.

PerfectPeony2 · 15/05/2019 10:32

Good!!

Gone on far too long.

Milicentbystander72 · 15/05/2019 10:32

I will hold my hands up and say I used to occasionally watch JK. I work from home, it's around breakfast time 🤷🏻‍♀️......it was definitely the lowest form of show but I will admit it (seeing as it's the most watched daytime itv show I guess I'm not the only one here).

However I'm not sorry it's gone.

I agree with a PP that Love Island is a disgrace. 3 related deaths. How it's got away with I don't know.

TeaRoseTallulah · 15/05/2019 10:33

Good! I really enjoy BB though

outvoid · 15/05/2019 10:33

Fantastic news.

wichitalinemanswoman · 15/05/2019 10:34

Great news!

hatemyhairhun · 15/05/2019 10:34

I don’t watch it - I think it’s trashy garbage, however I am quite shocked by ITV’s extremely firm stance. They’re not allowing episodes to be placed on their on demand service or on catch up slots on tv, and they have also completely halted filming. I have seen shows go through larger controversies and still carry on to some degree, it’s like they’re wiping away the existence of itGrin

PerfectPeony2 · 15/05/2019 10:34

Totally agree. ITV seem to just use people for entertainment. Even stuff like X factor/ Britain’s got talent- vulnerable people are put on those shows too.

hatemyhairhun · 15/05/2019 10:34

Yes the article also said that it was ITV’s most watched daytime show, so again it’s interesting that ITV have taken such a strong stance here.

OurChristmasMiracle · 15/05/2019 10:35

My question is this- why does Jeremy Kyle get axed but why didn’t love island?

I do wonder what long term support the participants are given and I do wonder whether there was other factors as well.

HollowTalk · 15/05/2019 10:36

But Channel 4 does that, too, doesn't it? Hopefully this will be a lesson for all of them.
