And Lifecraft steps it up a notch. Just as i thought. JK was wank fodder for you.

Tinyteatime · 16/05/2019 13:56

I read the mail report about the guy being a peadophile yet there was nothing in it other than the headline to suggest that he’d ever been accused/investigated or charged with being one. It sounds like he was very likely an abusive husband, hardly surprising. It wouldn’t surprise me if Kyle had paid the woman to come out with the peado claims (with seeming nothing to substantiate them) to try and deflect media attention from discussing what a wanker he is. I’ve actually met JK and can confirm he really is one a most vile human. It enraging that he’ll walk off into the sunset with his millions with no comeuppance.

HelenaDove · 16/05/2019 14:06

Well what that looks like to me is that ITV cared enough to cancel the show when a man who could allegedly have been a peadophile or abusive husband kills himself but it wasnt enough reason to ditch the show when a woman got beaten by her partner after an appearance in 2009

Like i said earlier .................misogyny.

Lizzie48 · 16/05/2019 14:23

You’re absolutely right, HelenaDove

HelenaDove · 16/05/2019 15:01

So IF that story has been planted they have just made it worse.
Because now it looks like they care more about abusers and paedophiles than they do about women..........if thats what he was.

Lifecraft · 16/05/2019 15:57

@HelenaDove-And Lifecraft steps it up a notch. Just as i thought. JK was wank fodder for you.

Absolutely charming. And which Swiss finishing school did you graduate from? Grin

BigRedLondonBus · 16/05/2019 16:08

Just because I disagree with the decision? Well I’m only one of the MILLION viewers the show had. People did watch it despite what MN thinks, but then I don’t find MN reflects real life anyway.

noodlenosefraggle · 16/05/2019 16:20

It was a huge ratings winner for ITV. Makes me think something went wrong with their processes here for them to cancel the programme so quickly, when they didnt cancel Love Island. There was an interesting article in the I today about JK, from a TV producer. basically, they employed researchers on the show who weren't the usual media types with connections but young people who were desperate to get into the industry. They gave them bonuses if there was a punch up on the show and put massive pressure on them if they couldnt book people. So I wouldnt be surprised if something about this guy was overlooked and now they are running scared.

HelenaDove · 16/05/2019 16:54

Ive heard its been replaced with Dickensons Real Deal

Im surprised they arent following the classic theme like they are with Corrie and Emmerdale on ITV3 and sticking Classic Vanessa or Classic Trisha on in the mornings.

Lifecraft · 16/05/2019 16:57

Reading some of the comments, I suspect a lot of people on MN hate the show because they applied to go on but we told they were too rough!

Dickensons Real DealShock oh dear!

HelenaDove · 16/05/2019 17:14

I think my 27 year relationship/marriage and deciding to give motherhood a swerve would disqualify me actually. Never having been drunk would probably disqualify me too.

You do realize that Kyle inherited the files of guests on previous shows right. So my file from being on the Vanessa show is probably in there somewhere I got calls after Vanessa and got asked to appear on lots of shows including Trisha The one show that never called me....................Jeremy Kyle.

Sagradafamiliar · 16/05/2019 17:27

It was such a toxic, exploitative show and JK is a really unsavoury character. But these things aside, the 'lie detector' was about as accurate as those apps you can download for a laugh. Someone from my town passed it and he admits himself that he did actually cheat.

staydazzling · 16/05/2019 19:35

it always surprised me how many people I went to school with watched it in front of their young children, TVs are much, much bigger now it would be so hard for a child not to be taking it all in. I never watched it with my kids.

HelenaDove · 16/05/2019 19:53

Kyle on a massive TV screen

HelenaDove · 18/05/2019 17:05

Looks like ITVs problems are even bigger than i thought.

I really struggle to think of high quality programmes produced by ITV in the last several years. In terms of drama, there's been Downton, Broadchurch and Endeavour produced to an outstanding level, with international appeal. Many dramas have been produced which initially look good but are quite disappointing or plain 'obvious'. I can't think of any high quality documentaries. I feel its the tv equivalent of a downmarket tabloid.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/05/2019 18:42

I wonder if there would be a noticeable shift in society’s behaviour if they just showed little house on the prairie and the waltons instead?

lolaflores · 18/05/2019 19:14

I started watching The Bay but couldn't be arsed after about 3/4 way through.
It felt a bit cheap. Like the sets were made of plywood and it had undertones of Broadchurch but with hunky Fishermen or something. But apart from endeavour and broadchurch and a few exceptions, ITv just feels a bit crap and dull.
JK seemed to represent that most fully.

HelenaDove · 18/05/2019 19:22

Fekko you do realize there is a whole plethora between Kyle and The Waltons right?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/05/2019 20:10

Is there really?

DilliDingDillyDong · 18/05/2019 20:17

Some hypocrites round here for sure.

HelenaDove · 19/05/2019 20:48
