How do you pronounce Primark?

This weekend it occurred to me that I say primark in a weird way!

Do you say it Primark (i as in eye)
Or Primark (i as in eee)

Pri(eye)mark

I used to work there and no one I worked with pronounced it Pree-mark

You wouldn't have that problem in Ireland as it's the original of the species and it's called Penneys pronounced like pennies!

Pr-eee-mark. Never heard anyone call it pr-eye-mark apart from English people on the telly (west coast of Scotland, here)

It's pr-eye-mark. But as a pp says, in Ireland where it originated it's just Penney's.

In London and SE England I never heard anyone say Preemark.

Here in Wales it's Preemark but most of England says Pr-eye-mark. I saw a programme on TV a while back and it's supposed to be pronounced Pr-eye-mark.

Oh i came on to say penneys. But other people already have.

Born and bred in London and I’ve always said Pree-Mark however in the last few years it seems it’s all changed to Pr(eye)-mark.

I won’t stop saying Preemark though

I've never said it out loud, because we don't have it here. But in my head when I read it, it's Pry-mark.

Emphasis on "eye" here too. Have never heard it called "pree"
