Found three grey hairs today.

Then stopped looking!

Wtf do I do?

(Dark hair... thinking blonde highlights?)

30, not long after having kids! Now 33 and the grey strands are very noticeable on my brown hair so I've just had blonde highlights done and really like it.

whatthewhatthewhat · 18/04/2019 20:21

And should it be 'gray'? Seem to be losing my marbles as well!

  1. Wished i had got the skunk stripe like my mother did. Laughed when a colleague asked me if i had been painting the ceiling.
DanielRicciardosSmile · 18/04/2019 20:21

I found my first grey hairs at 16, by 30 I was totally grey at my temples and now mid-40s am more grey than not.

I dye my hair, currently the same colour as it is/was naturally but am planning on gradually going lighter to disguise the roots longer.

Treacletoots · 18/04/2019 20:21

Haha 41 and similar. Waiting for responses. Dont want to full out dye as it looks a bit harsh. Going to Contine with my toffee coloured highlights and pretend it's not happening I think

Got my first grey hair at 19. I am 30 now and I would have noticeable grey hairs if I didn’t dye my hair every 6 weeks.

I’m not fully grey but I am half grey naturally I’d guess.

My mum was fully grey at 21.

GilmoreMe · 18/04/2019 20:24

Ugh
I started going grey when I was maybe 19! I have very dark hair and would probably be over 50% grey now (late thirties) if I didn't colour it - every sodding 5 weeks Angry

IggyAce · 18/04/2019 20:29

Noticed my first grey hairs around 28, I have brown hair so just used a box dye. Just after my 40th Birthday I decided to stop dying it as it needed doing every 3-4weeks. 11 months later and it doesn’t look too bad, I’m white at the front and frames my face nicely, and I have strands of grey/silver through the rest of my hair.

CupcakeDrama · 18/04/2019 20:39

My son asked
me the other day why I had grey hair. Im 30!! I didnt realise I had any greys. I think youve been lucky to get to 41 before going grey

StillMedusa · 18/04/2019 20:39

I think mine started in my late 30s. Kept colouring it until I was 48 then stopped. Three years later I have white at the front, and scattered streaks throughout and I love it..no roots no upkeep and it looks so healthy.

bordellosboheme · 18/04/2019 20:41

I'm 42 and totally white. I make a feature of it. I don't like chemicals so it's my choice not to colour it.

MsChicken · 18/04/2019 20:44

Struggling with this at the moment, started early 40s just at the sides a bit, now 50 and probably 50% grey throughout, the front worse than the back. I don't like it. It also makes my hair curly here and there. I've never dyed my hair so nervous of doing anything.

IckleWicklePumperNickle · 18/04/2019 20:46

First one at 16 and far too many to count now mid to late 30s. I just leave them as is. Husband has none at mid 40s.

Soontobe60 · 18/04/2019 20:46

Mid 40s. Started dyeing myself at home, then had highlights in various shades of brown, eventually going more and more blonde. Stayed blonde for 5 years until the grey increased enough to not dye anymore. This coincided with grey becoming fashionable! Now totally grey, no dye since mid 50 s.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 18/04/2019 20:46

First grey hair at age 31. I remember it very well because it was just before my wedding.

25 years later and I am about 10% grey if that.

Sometimes it can be a very slow process.

RaeCJ82 · 18/04/2019 20:53

I found my first grey hair last week. I'm 36. I was actually sat waiting for my hairdresser to mix my colour and saw it in my regrowth as I was looking in my mirror. My highlights have covered/disguised it.

MonaChopsis · 18/04/2019 20:59

Few grey hairs in my 30s, lots now in my 40s but still in patches rather than an even spread. I use Lush Henna every 6-8 weeks, a friend and I have a girls night in and set the world to rights while doing each others hair. Mine has never looked so glossy and conditioned before, I love it.

Racerback · 18/04/2019 21:01

Mid thirties. Nothing.

goose1964 · 18/04/2019 21:03

55 and still only have a few grey hairs, my 30 years old son has more. He takes after his dad who was fully grey by 34

Langrish · 18/04/2019 21:05

I’m 55 next week, have some silver ones that appear as streaks above my ears when I have a ponytail (natural blonde). I love them and don’t intend to dye my hair when it all greys.
I see so many women with horrible, block colour, home dyed hair (usually black or dark brown) who look so much older because of it. Never looks right.

MissisBee · 18/04/2019 21:06

First grey hair age 18, started dyeing it mid 20s. Now 35, probably about 50% grey. Natural colour is dark brown, don't fancy a gradual transition to blonde. Have been dyeing it's usual colour, with highlights occasionally but getting a bit fed up and might just let it go grey

Mammylamb · 18/04/2019 21:09

I was 24 when I spotted the first one! I’ve been dying it ever since

Adversecamber22 · 18/04/2019 21:15

Had one at 26 but then no more till mid thirties. Had my hair dyed by a hairdresser from about 36 till late forties, when peri menopausal I became allergic to hair dye. Now have hair that is mainly silver with a few dark streaks through. When it was mainly dark with silver streaks I loved it then when it was half and half I hated it. Now it’s almost 100% silver and I like it.

NoShitHemlock · 18/04/2019 21:22

I am a red head so no grey hairs - only thick wiry silver ones! Am 44 and found my first silver one at 41 but left it until it was noticable on my temples. After 2 tragic experiences with dyes (one at home, one in salon) I have decided to turn into a ginger badger gracefully.
