I feel there is a lot of agenda here and whilst I can play along with the mods, sometimes I wonder what that agenda is?

AndIWon · 14/04/2019 19:59

It's like you have to fit a Stepford wife sort of cliche.

OP posts:
NoSauce · 14/04/2019 20:00

Is this so people will start discussing things they’re not supposed to?

bridgetreilly · 14/04/2019 20:00

Huh? 99% of threads have no active moderation at all.

AndIWon · 14/04/2019 20:01

About 3 years ago, it was different, you could discuss anything, but from my perception there are now a lot of things 'off the table' and it's just a pain in the bum sometimes.

OP posts:
Endofthedays · 14/04/2019 20:02

What things?

ShitAtScarbble · 14/04/2019 20:02

I can take an educated guess what you want to discuss and why.

So no - MN do not have an agenda unless you see not turning into the Daily Mail Comments alternative as an agenda?
But go on - indulge us. What was it you wanted to talk about but feel you are not allowed to?

Ilove31415926535 · 14/04/2019 20:03

The subjects of a recent Netflix documentary and a woman who wrote a baby book seem to be the people we can't discuss. I believe this is due to their litigious natures.

AndIWon · 14/04/2019 20:03

So we can't discuss:

Autism - the causes
Meghan Markle
The McCanns
Social Housing
Benefits
Northern Ireland
The DUP
The IRA
The RUC
Homelessness
Being Irish
Women driving their husbands away due to obsessive behaviour
Alcoholism
Suicide ideation
Suicide
Depression
Being a Leave voter
Neighbours with a screaming child
Neighbours shouting
Acronym overuse
The NHS
Mumsnet
Anyone black
Dogs killing children
Having a confident teenager

And when I say discuss, I mean say bad things about.
General discussions, that don't criticise them, may be OK.

ShitAtScarbble · 14/04/2019 20:06

Well I was right. Ok - it was only your second point but I was right. Oh - there it is again. Third last point. And 'being Irish' as well!

Really OP - I can't help thinking this is not your natural home.

AndIWon · 14/04/2019 20:06

Everything is 'not in the spirit'.

OP posts:
WhoTFIsAlanBrazil · 14/04/2019 20:07

Is that all, OP?

AndIWon · 14/04/2019 20:07

ShitAtScarbble
It's not a home. It's a forum for discussion. It's not some sort of family.

OP posts:
NoBaggyPants · 14/04/2019 20:08

I've seen threads on all those subjects, almost all just today! In what way do you think the subjects are not allowed?

ElloBrian · 14/04/2019 20:09

What was it that the Stepford Wives said about the DUP? I must have missed that bit of the film.

AndIWon · 14/04/2019 20:09

Unless you approach the threads like Mother Teresa, you're not allowed to comment.

OP posts:
GertrudeCB · 14/04/2019 20:10

So what do YOU think the agenda is OP?

AndIWon · 14/04/2019 20:11

If I say - oh, but we all discuss all those topics every day, that's fine.
If I say, we're not allowed to actually say anything controversial about any of those topics - not ok.

OP posts:
HardAsSnails · 14/04/2019 20:11

Other forums are available and all that.

AndIWon · 14/04/2019 20:12

The agenda is to purify us all and have us all some one big entity with similar thoughts. Then they can market us as 'Mummies'.

OP posts:
ilovesooty · 14/04/2019 20:12

There are plenty of subjects on that list which are discussed regularly.

I'm wondering exactly what you want to say that you're prevented from saying.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 14/04/2019 20:13

You can't criticise Lily Allen.

AndIWon · 14/04/2019 20:14

Other forums are available and all that.
Yes, but only allowing one narrative on this forum, is a load of bollocks.

OP posts:
birdsdestiny · 14/04/2019 20:14

Do you mean people have different opinions opinions to you on these subjects.

GertrudeCB · 14/04/2019 20:14

That's ridiculous. We are from all over the world and socio economic groups. So YABU.
