I feel there is a lot of agenda here and whilst I can play along with the mods, sometimes I wonder what that agenda is?

OP's posts suggests that there's a confusion between posts that lead to bans from MN and posts that lead a lot of posters to jump on you and point out that you're mistaken/bigoted etc. I often see people claiming that they're "not allowed" to post on something when manifestly they've been posting on it for hours or days without anything being deleted. What they're moaning about in reality is that the vast majority of responses disagree with them, some of them in very robust terms.

That's very true, and it's obviously a good thing that MNers are able to do this. But it also seems some are so determined that certain subjects won't be discussed at all that they'll try to create a fracas simply to get a thread deleted

We're told about an alleged problem because of what posters have said on other threads ... in which case, why not deal with it there, rather than on another one? Presumably MN would ban a poster if their comments mean they don't want them on the forum at all, but while I'm no expert, following folk round threads in order to sling accusations looks to me suspiciously like trolling
