To ask who are the modern day funny female comedian?

My brother visited today and whilst flicking through my Netflix noticed that I had Joan Rivers on my to watch list. This led to a discussion on the lack of modern high profile/good female comedians about today. He basically said they were few and far between. I could only think of Jo Brand at the time but there must be more?? I was pissed off after he visited and wanted to forward some links of funny females but I can’t find many.....

Sandi Toksvig, personally Jo Brand irritates me because, while she is sometimes brilliant, she is, at other times, insufferable.

I find Tina Fey really funny. Parks and Rec, Rebel Wilson, Wanda Sykes, Kristen Wiigs, Melissa McCarthy, Mindy Kaling (too saccharine for me but people like her). Pitch Perfect (the entire cast).

There's loads. I suspect he's one of those men who think women can't be funny.

MatchsticksForMyEyesReturns · 14/04/2019 15:17

Kerry Godliman, Shappi Korsandi, Sarah Pascoe.

Streely · 14/04/2019 15:17

I like Aisling Bea, too.

I loved Luisa Omielan when she first came out with her stand up show ‘what would Beyoncé do?’, but haven’t kept up with her much since.

FiveLittlePigs · 14/04/2019 15:17

I like Angela Barnes, Katharine Ryan and
Shappi Korshandi. Sarah Millican is ok, now she's stopped explaining her jokes.

MaMaMaMySharona · 14/04/2019 15:18

I’m a big fan of Catherine Ryan, Sara Pascoe, Kerry Godliman and Roisin Conaty!

Sarah Millican! She's got a filthy sense of humour but also talks a lot of truth! She's brilliant!
Although I love Miranda Hart, I didn't enjoy her live show because it was too much like the TV show (which, I know, came after the radio show/live stuff) but it just seemed like watching her actual TV show.

Sparklesocks · 14/04/2019 15:23

There are loads of great female comedian specials on Netflix if you look for them

Smoggle · 14/04/2019 15:25

Ali Wong!
