CF county council has destroyed my wall!

I've name changed for this as it will probably end up quite outing...

The council are improving a 'road' next to my house, this road is not passable with a normal vehicle, only a 4wd. The posh golf course behind us wants to cut down lots of trees so need access for large vehicles, therefore the council have had workers there this week improving the lane.

I spoke to them about 4 days ago just to find out what they were doing (just being nosy!) and was told that they were improving the opposite end of the lane, but not my end due to funding.

I've come back from work today to find that they've decided to drain a large, muddy puddle (probably 40m long by 7m wide) by making a large hole in our dry stone wall and digging a trench onto our land, surely they can't just do this?????

Am planning on ringing them tomorrow and asking for the wall to be rebuilt and everything put back to how it was, anyone had a similar experience at all? I'm quite flabbergasted by the cheek to be honest

It’s not a bad effort for a layman but not for replacing a wall someone took down when they shouldn’t have!

Gosh no wonder you are annoyed . It was beautiful.
Complain to everyone you can think of and I wish you well.
We had a public road through our land and several years on no money for land or damages . Just 2 close family with depression.

Now that 'fix' is a bodge and a half

No news yet I'm afraid, the council guy did say it'd take a few weeks as their team was doing a big job, ok probably chase it up if I've not heard anything by the end of next week. It still looks crap

You know when you do something Evan little things wrong the council are on you like the proverbial ton of bricks, so to speak! But the council do anything wrong no matter how massive they drag their feet like hankers. Topical behaviour that they think is totally fine to do. Do some nagging o p .

Try pushing it with your local councillor - some are shit but others are very good at annoying departments into action (my mum's one of the latter and can terrify a council department into action very quickly!)

You're likely to have a much worse issue with fly tipping now if normal cars (and dubious white vans) can get down there - my parents live down a similar type of track which is just about passable in normal vehicles and they have a terrible problem developing with it. The party trick around ours is lost HGVs following sat navs without thinking and getting stuck - provides us with a lot of entertainment sat in the garden on a summer's afternoon watching them try to get back out the way they came.

Sorry this has taken forever... The wall is fixed! There were lots of excuses, half done jobs and more complaints, but the finished article looks ok. It'll look better when the green moss grows back over it though
