He vlogged our date!

Hi will try not to make it an essay! NC for this.
So my friend set me up with a guy she knows from her hobby group, chatted a bit online etc and he seemed nice enough so agreed to meet up with him last night. He had previously spoken a lot about how he is really into social media which I'm not really into - we spoke on WhatsaApp but he keeps asking for my Snapchat, Insta etc, he is very into YouTube and kept asking me to subscribe to his channel and watch his top vid which is a Yes Lads reaction video which has around 7000 likes.
So I arrive last night and he is literally filming as I walk in and asks if I'm excited to meet him, how I'm feeling etc. I kind of laugh it off but then am getting increasingly annoyed as he keeps asking for us to take a selfie, messing around that weird dog ear filter thing and the whole time I am trying to chat to him his phone keeps relentlessly pinging. He also wanted to play this weird "20 questions about you" game but said he wouldn't put it online if I dont want it.
So I get home and within literally 5 minutes of him dropping me off he texts me to say "the video" is up on his profile and can I please like and share it??? I go to his profile and he has actually put together a 20 minute video of our date!! You can't really see my face but you can hear me, he says my name several times and my car reg plate is clearly visible at the end. Even worse is that it already has several hundred likes from his "followers" who have shared it to their own Insta accounts etc. He even gave it a title like"xxcVideoGuyWithNoName GOES ON A DATE"!! And he filmed the whole 20 questions thing by hiding his phone behind a menu!
So I guess my AIBU is a. AIBU to be weirded out by this? and b. Is this focus on social media the new norm for dating now??

Holy god....you are definitely not being unreasonable...
Isleepinahedgefund · 08/04/2019 17:35
You’re going on a second date with him yeah?
TeaForTheWin · 08/04/2019 17:40
What a fruitcake! Also, filiming without you knowing is without your consent. I would report it to youtube and I would also comment on his page 'HI, I am the girl that was on this date with you. I didn't know you were filming that part and I actually find this really creepy. I have reported it you youtube. And I would hope this would go without saying but, never contact me again'.
ButtMuncher · 08/04/2019 17:41
Jesus wept. The world these days!
I'd be raging!
PepsiLola · 08/04/2019 17:44
How old is he?
lordofthefries · 08/04/2019 17:45
He sounds like a child, I’d be so embarrassed. You’re definitely NBU
BlueJava · 08/04/2019 17:46
Run! Lucky escape. What a weirdo! I suspect whoever is with him will only be a "prop" to his filming. What a nightmare!
Fromage · 08/04/2019 17:47
What a loser.
After reporting to youtube etc., I would email the restaurant and tell them too. They might be interested to know some weird creep is secretly filming his dates there.
HoneysuckIejasmine · 08/04/2019 17:48
Omg! I'd be furious.
Calloway · 08/04/2019 17:48
Youtube is happy to host far rights hate mongers so I don't think they'll be overly fussed by this.
TrickyKid · 08/04/2019 17:50
Omg no. He sounds like a 12 year old but worse.
FifisLovelyApron · 08/04/2019 17:51
There's probably a group of Daily Mail temps trying to track down the video right now...
At least tell him to take your reg plate down. And quickly before the temps find you too.
If this is real, be aware that whatever you do next will probably result in another video. Vloggers only think in terms of subs and likes. Don't see him again unless you want to embark on your own YouTubing career.
ValiaH · 08/04/2019 17:56
Anyone read The Circle? This reminds e of that- can't believe he had the audacity to do that! Definitely report it to Youtube/ whatever platform he has put it up on
AuntMarch · 08/04/2019 18:23
Lack of return here makes me think the OP was supposed to prompt us to look for the video and had hits, or whatever.
Patroclus · 08/04/2019 18:55
I honestly just cringed so hard ive pulled an arse muscle.
Patroclus · 08/04/2019 19:02
Or maybe he did this so he could then do an apolpgy video where he excuses everything with 'got anxiety'
Badwifey · 08/04/2019 19:04
I'd have turned and walked out if I saw him film me coming to meet him... creep
crazycatlady5 · 08/04/2019 19:05
Are you both 14?
GraceMarks · 08/04/2019 19:24
Hmmm, having thought about it, I'm inclining towards thinking the OP is actually the vlogger, and is trying to get us to come to YouTube and look at his video. Not coming back to comment further, OP?
Belenus · 08/04/2019 21:01
A sceptical person would suspect that this is the entire purpose of this thread.
I'm definitely in the sceptical camp. There are a lot of very, very underhand tactics involved in getting internet hits.

Hi everyone thanks for the replies! Sorry not to post sooner but yesterday and today are actually moving day for me so finding myself buried under piles of boxes. Oh and FUCK OFF DAILY MAIL YOU BUNCH OF TWUNTS lol.
So basically I have done as people said and reported the videos to Youtube and Instagram, I know he has also put stuff on Snapchat which is more complicated as I have never used it and it seems impossible to make a complaint anyway as the content disappears so quickly. My friend also mentioned the police as an option which might seem a bit OTT but I am considering.
I have messaged him, basically calling him a wanker and to take the videos down. He has read it but not responded but I have seem he has been online on Youtube etc replying to comments people have left so its not like he hasn't seen the messages. The worst thing is he has actually now posted a new video, not mentioning or featuring me directly but where his flatmate "interviews" him about the date, asks him if he liked me, does he see a second date on the cards etc. Quite a few of my friends have posted on that video calling him out on it.
I don't want to post his account info on here as that will probably attract the DM twats but thanks for the people who have offered to rain down MN terror on his pathetic manchild arse! And to the people who have asked - he is 22 and has a real job - albeit a social media / Facebook selling type one - and I am 24 next week so neither of us is the typical 1 year old social media demographic. Also the friend who put me in contact with him did tell me that he has a habit of vlogging all their hobby group activities - which has pissed off people in the group as its the sort of activity where somebody shoving a camera in your face can be distracting and actually quite dangerous!
Will update once the videos have (hopefully) been removed!!!
AlsoAlan · 09/04/2019 09:42
Sorry I meant 14 year old social media demographic! Don't think a lot of 1yos have their own sm!!
IHateUncleJamie · 09/04/2019 10:06
If he doesn’t reply and/or remove the videos within 24 hours, threaten him with the Police. Nothing wrong with phoning 101 in the meantime to ask their advice.
buttermilkwaffles · 09/04/2019 10:39
He sounds like a narcissistic wankspanner to me, but then I have never understood the appeal or point of vlogging.
Has he monetised the video for ad revenue as well? Pretty sure that it's illegal to use it for commercial purposes without your permission.
CallipygianFancier · 09/04/2019 10:53
Do check with the police. It's possible this may fall under malicious communications or something similar.
