To think that my otherwise healthy 39 yo DB shouldn’t be trying not to die from sepsis?

Just that really. Best part of a week spent in ICU, where I’ve been staying o/night with DSiL as she is still bf their 7 month old. Now I’m home and I have time to think, and I think it is all a bit shit. I thought I should come home and see my DC and DH but I’m going to end up more emotional-wreck than rested. How on earth do I support my DM and DF as their beautiful son lies day after day, just-about-not-dying? How on earth can I hold space for my wonderful, brave DSiL and their two DC when I just want to shout and scream at him to stop being such a pillock and get the feck better?

@mnbvcxz098 Ffs rtft. Check the date of the thread.
Even if it was recent your comment is unnecessary and rude.
OP I remember your thread. I am very glad your Dbro is on the road to recovery.

Oh what a lovely update - I didn't see this thread when it was first posted but I'm SO GLAD that your DB has come through it all and is now cycling with his children.

I hope that YOU are ok - this is the sort of thing that has the potential to cause delayed trauma for you - have you had support and been able to talk it through with anyone?

Thank you for updating - what a lovely positive follow-up Thanks

KeziaOAP · 04/10/2019 16:15

IceBearRocks · 04/10/2019 17:28

This is AMAZING OP..... I've just spent 4 weeks in hospital with my disabled DS watching him fight pneumonia and Sepsis in PICU for nearly 3 of those weeks.
Hes quite a rare little boy so watching him receive Star of the week in school today (he did an hour yesterday and two today ) was a tearful moment!
It looks like sepsis have broken his tummy as it doesn't absorb his gastro feeds anymore ...so fed into jejunum....but if that's the worst thing ..... hes alive !
I'm so please to hear about you DB....I love a fighter!
