To think the only viable Brexit option now is to revoke A50

Theresa Mays speech last night was a disgrace and will only have hardened MP’s positions - there’s no way her WA will get voted through, even if another vote is allowed.

There is no appetite for No Deal from anyone who understands its consequences so that just leaves revoke.

TM has been the master of saying one thing and doing the complete opposite.

I’m now convinced she’s going to revoke and resign.

Or is that just wishful thinking?

Despite MPs voting to avoid no deal, and voting for an extension, she's basically ignoring them as she surely must know her deal won't go through.

Disgusting to allow it to go to the wire, to save her skin for what - another week?

No I don't think that's the case I think next week MPs will reject her deal again, she will resign, and the Eu will grant us a lengthy extension as we go through a leadership contest then try to renegotiate it.

I don't think we have the majority appetite for revoke in thr house and it would only be a last minute requirement if it happened and we were about to crash out, but that's unlikely.

More likely her deal will be rejected, she will resign, a lengthy extension will be granted on thr 28th or 29th and it will be leadership contest time.

I honestly can’t see any other way out of this mess but maybe that’s just me being my usual optimistic self and thinking it will all be ok.

We must be a complete laughing stock and I’m posdibly the only person left in the uk not blaming the PM as I still don’t see anyone else stepping up with any ideas.

RJ plenty of people have suggested a cross party consensus to see what parliament could potentially agree to and as usual Theresa May has decided she knows better. She certainly doesn’t speak for me Angry

Quite right jackie this whole mess has been created by TM deciding when to invoke A50, deciding what the red lines were and then running down the clock in an attempt to force her rubbish deal through.

If you were an MP who’s vote need to change to get this through stealth how would you justify your change in vote, especially after last nights performance?

My predicted outcome is.
Deal will be rejected
TM
Will resign or be pushed out
jRM will step in. Hard brexit

I blame Jezza and every single MP more than I blame TM tbh. No one has been working for the country since 2016!!!

Jezza basically finished himself yesterday after that performance. He wasn’t popular before. Now he has No chance at winning an election. Labour need to get rid.

If she resigned or there was a leadership contest....who would actually want to take over in the position we're currently in...? I've a horrible feeling it could be JRM 😱😱😱 (not to say i think TM is doing a good job but not sure what the alternatives are?)

Sure, but every single option goes down like a cup of cold sick. And to be fair Teresa May didn't unilaterally decide to invoke article fifty, she put it to thr vote and got overwhelming support from thr house to do so.

As much as I think she's made mistakes, and hindsight is twenty twenty, i do think there is culpability all round, the MPs, David Cameron, and even the British public.

i Think there are too many retainers in the Tory party to get a hard line Brexiteer in power. But it's irrelevant, any prime minister still needs to go via the house and they will reject no deal again and again. We live in a democracy and no prime minister has the authority to unilaterally act without thr backing of the house.

Bring on a general electio and then every voter can look at what their local MP has done over the last 2 years and vote accordingly.

Mine is usually a tad useless but has been acting in accordance with his constituents wishes. One close MP has not... they will be nseated att he next election, there are moves to do so now but the local party are playing a waiting game.

However you voted this is not what anyone should accept from paid public servants. They have deliberately faddled around the edges, focussed on details without thought for the larger picture, or only looked at the larger pictre and forgotten to fix the details.

At least we know that the civil service have been getting on and doing 'mini deals' ...

Basically our politicians are fiddling whilst the UK is burning!

As for Jezza, I have no fucking idea what he thought he was doing yesterday! I'd say political suicide, but he seems to be immune to shame, self doubt and common sense.
