Spotted by someone over 6 foot at a women’s day march.

If it said “kill all trans women” the wearer would (rightly) be arrested for inciting violence, but I have seen women defending their right to wear it because they were “driven to it”.

Like men are driven to kill women all the time.

Or even, identifies as a woman?
Do you think that he may be a transwo man because he is wearing a t shirt with a slogan that calls for violence against women?

@ScienceItUsedToBeAThing I'm not who you were replying to but taking your offer of discussion in good faith, out of genuine curiosity, do you have any evidence to hand re: desire for physical transition (sex reassignment surgery? is that what it's called?) in the trans population?

The t-shirt is disgusting and there is a real issue with double standards as to what can be said about the trans community, where it is a very low bar for it to be hate speech and even warrant police involvement, and what can be said about gender critical women, where anything goes.

It is a derogatory term but quite descriptive, apart from the fact you don't really have to be a radical feminist to think the above. Suggesting that you must be a radical feminist if you think something perfectly factual and scientific is an attempt to marginalise that view into something lunatic-fringe-sounding.

I've known quite a few men who were desperate to do anything that I could do, better than me. Even when they really lacked the ability to do so and misunderstood what doing that thing actually involved.

I think that applies here. I've no doubt some people have genuinely painful dysmorphia and long to be the sex they are not, but the attitude of many men in that situation is extremely aggressive and about trying to take over what it means to be a woman, instead of asking nicely to join in as an honorary member. (So to speak)

So we have a group of people claiming that they want to be women (indeed the they ARE women!) and yet have nothing but contempt for the female sex.

Why would they, or anyone, want to join a group that they despise?

Transwomen are not women, factually, biologically or in terms of experience. But (if they can manage to be civil about it too) I can respect that they would like to be a woman and might decide to live as one. I will call a transwomen she and by a female name as long as they respect me and my experience of being a woman and understand it is not the exact same thing. Because it's not.

I once came across a TW on Twitter who admitted to being an MRA. This person genuinely believed that women have a societal advantage over men, so why wouldn't they want to be a woman? (The pictures on the profile also screamed AGP, though...)

Most don't want to cut their penises off and have reassignment surgery. They believe sex is a feeling based on stereotypes and therefore accept a woman can have a female penis

I imagine that they are also convinced that the earth is flat and there are fairies at the bottom of their gardens- when it suits them to do so.

As Science says - it is a way to retain their own power, while effectively disenfranchising women.
