DO NOT FLY NORWEGIAN AIRLINES!

I flew with Norwegian Airlines a few months ago, a night from New York to London. During the day of the flight I received a text message saying my flight was delayed 4 hours from 11pm till 3am, and to ring to reschedule. I rang within minutes, and was told the only available flight would be 3am 24 hours later. Laughable. Then at the airport there we were delayed AGAIN so we didn't set off until gone 5am. I understand that delays and cancellations are common with Norwegian airlines. I followed up with them months ago but did not even receive a response from them. Yes they may be cheaper than other airlines, but you're likely to regret that choice.

a budget operator (not actually NA),

Are you saying that this whole rank is actually NOT about Norwegian?

Well I flew with Norwegian and had no problems whatsoever. If chose to pay £1000 for a flight on a budget airline then more fool you.

one bad experience so no one should fly with them ever? YABU

This ⬆️

I’ve had bad experiences with countless firms, companies, organisations over the years. A spider in my vegetable soup, a rusty bolt in a loaf etc.
Are you able to afford the solicitors if Norwegian airlines decide to sue you for liable, slander or defamation? I’m not a lawyer so m not entirely sure which of these you’re doing, but you are doing one of them.

Get a grip love, flights get delayed, cancelled, postponed and you think that warrants a world wide boycott with the loss of thousands of jobs? Nice!

Stop being an arse. Ask to have this thread removed before you are sued!

The only airline I would say never ever fly with, and actually mean it, is Small Planet.

Really, really please don't.

I found it now on flightmap. That’s an odd one. I wonder why they turned back? They were over Norway so plenty of airports nearby if there was an emergency.

No emergency. Pakistan air space is closed atm. Major problems with cancelled flights, aircraft diverting, making extra fuel stops etc. AC42 could have diverted but logistically, having the crew, aircraft and pax on the ground at Toronto is easier than a foreign airport.

Proper pita all round

Yes, I would be perfectly happy if the delay meant I could get where I was going safely.

I would have slept, and not worried about eating a cardboard sandwich as people don't tend to be hungry at 4am.

Sorry to hear about the babies, what was the difference to them whether you were flying or not I wonder?

Sorry for your experience ....but isn't it obvious
Airline with small fleet + long haul flight = big risk of major delay in the event of a problem...? If you'd wanted an airline with lots of back up planes you should've gone with a bigger airline.

That's not really a thing.

Hey, I agree with you about the babies, OP, I hate being surrounded by babies on planes but what's an airline to do? They have to allow the babies to travel in the main cabin because their parents get really stroppy about putting them in the hold with the checked luggage for some reason and won't even consider putting them under the seat in front in a pet carrier.

But why are you bringing this up a few months after the fact? Is it because some numbnut told you you can claim some compensation which will be around £400 and you've only now found out that's not true?

I bet the atmosphere on that Air Canada flight wasn’t great when the captain announced they were turning back.

Norwegian did use leased planes on transatlantic flights (way still do, I don't know), but they were still Norwegian flights.

Norwegian are my favourite airline. Sorry you’ve had a bad experience but flights get delayed

They wet leased from Wamos. Perhaps that's what OP means: in which case the grievance is with Wamos and not NA.

I know. Could you imagine; just under 14 hours in the air to end up where you started. I'm sure there were more than a couple of disgruntled passengers.

Things happen! It’s an inconvenience but It’s not the end of the world.

I bet you’re the sort of person that runs off to write a scathing review if you don’t get your exact way when dealing with small businesses too. 🙄
