DO NOT FLY NORWEGIAN AIRLINES!

I flew with Norwegian Airlines a few months ago, a night from New York to London. During the day of the flight I received a text message saying my flight was delayed 4 hours from 11pm till 3am, and to ring to reschedule. I rang within minutes, and was told the only available flight would be 3am 24 hours later. Laughable. Then at the airport there we were delayed AGAIN so we didn't set off until gone 5am. I understand that delays and cancellations are common with Norwegian airlines. I followed up with them months ago but did not even receive a response from them. Yes they may be cheaper than other airlines, but you're likely to regret that choice.

We flew with Norwegian airlines from Tenerife back to Gatwick.
There was a problem with a plane and it ripped up the tarmac, caused chaos of cancelled flights and we had to be transferred from the south to north of the island to catch our flight.
Only problem we had, was they didn’t provide anyone with food or drink even though we was delayed over 4 hours before getting the coach to the other airport.
But they did give the elderly and children a free meal, even though it was night time and had hardly any food, hence why only certain people got food.
I was very grumpy to say the least with hungry kids and I was pregnant.
It wouldn’t put me off flying with them though

Why are you complaining today about something that happened months ago?

My Dad has travelled all over the world for business with pretty much every airline there is.

There are always delays, cancellations, merged flights, that is part of air travel.

Norweigian are just like any other carrier, like BA or Virgin. They get their fair share of complaints too.

You need good end to end insurance and the knowledge that shit happens. Get over yourself. One experience of one bad flight, sheesh.

An ECHR ruling states than no flight may ever be delayed if there are babies on board.

They must take off on time, regardless of whether the pilot is present, or the engines, or even if the plane is actually on fire.

Ha - the sun has got to you OP. And you are being utterly ridiculous. Yes. We should all stop flying with them because they delayed your flight. 😂 this gave me a right laugh in the train though, thanks!

I often fly with Norwegian and have never had any issues.

BA on the other hand. Would never fly with that bunch of bastards ever again. I have only had terrible experiences with them.

There were babies on board? Good grief, well, no wonder they were delayed, OP. Have you any idea how hard it is for security to round up and effectively deal with an incursion of babies on a plane without the aid of Samuel L Jackson? As in SLJ of 'I have had it with these motherfucking babies on this motherfucking plane!!!!'?

SLJ: ^^

Me: Snakes you say? Meh. Snakes, babies, what's the diff? Both equally unwelcome on any flight I'm on.

I love Norwegian. Great planes, great service, great pilots.

I've flown Easyjet a lot and most of their flights are delayed, sometimes even the firsts out at 6AM is delayed. I still fly with them.
Most airlines will have delayed flights at some point, even the ones with babies on board.

Buses get delayed every day - do you boycott them too? Are you ever late?

I've flown with lots of airlines and had delays, cancellations, etc. BA, Emirates, KLM. With one cancellation, I ended up travelling for over 24 hours, taking connecting flights then getting up after only 4 hours sleep to do a live radio interview. I didn't think to complain. I assume airlines have good reasons for delays.

Wait. Did they cancel because there were babies on board?

😂

Luckily you were not flying Air Canada today. One of their aircraft has been in the air over 13 hours and is now descending to land back at the departure airport!

Where did you get that bollocks info European12345. Standard compensation under Article 7 of Regulation (EC)261/2004 for London to NYC is 600 EURO (about £540) so the amount is weing. More importantly, however, with no information about the facts you have no idea whatsoever whether or not the airline will be able to defend the claim on the basis of “Extraordinary circumstances”. Do you work for one of those odious claims factories like Bott & Co who have just had their arses kicked in the Court of Appeal?

Can they?

Perhaps a little more detail from OP is required

I've got to be honest, from the thread title I thought it would be a much worse experience than "My flight was cancelled for 24hrs then delayed by 2hrs. Not saying that isn't really annoying, but I don't think it's enough to warrant a thread online warning nobody to ever fly with the airline.

I've been through the same thing before with another airline and still flown with them again myself actually.

To all you high and mighty who think I'm being unreasonable here. Are you seriously telling me that you would be happy to pay close to £1k for a flight, only for that to be postponed well into the dark hours of the night with a budget operator (not actually NA), with no inflight entertainment, and a half dozen crying babies around me on board, with a further two hours delay, and the only compensation I received was a 'free' half cardboard half bread sandwich, and apparently I am the one with the temerity to complain! Then I laud your magnanimity. Might I add that they hadn't even cleaned the plane from the previous passengers and the bathroom was a sight to behold. I don't know what had been in there before but it wasn't human. And yes I did make a complaint following procedure on their website and got no response. If you don't complain about poor service, then who's to hold them to account. Get off your high horses, please.

Ah man, you were unlucky to get ambushed by the babies like that.

Do you have a link for that Air Canada flight, needthis? That would really suck!

To all you high and mighty

What a rant OP. You are funny. You can't expect us all to agree with how shit the airline is, based on those reasons, when you never actually told us any of it in the first place. All you have is to go on was the flight was delayed and he babies on it Hmm

Also you STILL haven't said why you were delayed?

Who were the budget operator that are not NA? Why are you raging at NA if it wasn't them?

Basically WTAF?

Sigh. No compensation is due if it was delayed due to circumstances outwith thr airlines control, ie weather.

Op, not going to tell us why it was delayed then? I think your reticence to says it all.
