Why are people still deluding themselves about Michael Jackson??

If any grown man I know invited children to sleep in his bed with him there would be absolutely no question about what was going on. I am sure that most people would agree, why are so many people still deluding themselves about this?? Makes me so cross, why do they even play his music on the radio??

For those who believe him; don't you think it is a little odd that the boys were replaced with younger versions when they reached late puberty?

limitedperiodonly · 26/02/2019 20:46

courted young boys

Oh dear

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 26/02/2019 20:51

May I suggest that anyone who is planning in watching Leaving Neverland watches this video first, it is about the asshole who has behind Leaving Neverland. Just another money grabbing snake who sees an easy target

But Wade stood up in court as an adult and denied abuse. He also gave MJ a touching and moving memory of words when he died. I do not understand what has changed between then and now for the situation to have changed to this. It’s never ever been clear cut like JS or GG with credible victims and evidence. It has always been very conflicting accounts

nevernotstruggling · 26/02/2019 20:56

Iirc Wade robson didn't make any money from leaving Neverland

PookieDo · 26/02/2019 20:58

He didn’t I agree. But I find him really hard to take seriously given his actions in the past as an adult to then take part in this. It isn’t a defence of MJ but even if my own personal experiences I don’t understand his actions for changing his actions so dramatically

southeastdweller · 26/02/2019 21:03

The boy was a credible witness How was he?

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 26/02/2019 21:04

Limited Jordan Chandlers father had previously asked MJ for money to make a film, which MJ declined. He was also heard before it all came out, stating that he was going to 'win it big time' with regards to money.

Interestingly, Jordan Chandler applied to 'divorce' himself from his parents during the trial and also fled to try and avoid testifying against MJ. Around the same time, August 2005, Jordan Chandlers father attacked Jordan with a barbell and something else, nearly killing him. JC was granted a restraining order against his dad.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 26/02/2019 21:07

never Wade even got a bloody book deal due to it! And let's not forget his 'fame'..because he was never as noticed as he wanted to be until now!

TheMightyToosh · 26/02/2019 21:08

I really don't know what to make of it all. Not a fan particularly but you would imagine there would be way more allegations against him if it was true? He was a star for what, 30 years, surely there would be hundreds if not thousands of victims, and lots of ex employees and former friends tripping over themselves to sell their stories.

^this exactly from @Deadringer

Look at Jimmy Saville and the number of his victims that came forward after his death. Surely this would be on an even bigger scale if it were true about an international mega star.

HoppityFrog3 · 26/02/2019 21:13

No evidence, witch-hunt, not here to defend himself, one lad who accused him was proven to have had his story full of holes some years back..............

I could go on.

I don't believe Michael ever did anything wrong, and much of what has been said is a pack of lies, spouted by people desperate or attention, publicity, and money.

Michael is a music legend. Don't care what lies people spout about him, and nothing will change the fact that he is a music legend . NOTHING.

Someone in my outer circle was also friends with MJ and may have even had sleepovers - definitely movie nights. He also states emphatically that he was childlike but just couldn't see him as an abuser of children. He said he seemed asexual even. He said he wanted to hang out with him and his friends and was never trying to get them alone or anything creepy like that (unlike his sports coach who was not as innocent, sadly.)

That said, that was his experience. His parents were well off and connected so maybe not a safe target. I tend to believe his opinion because I know him and don't know the accusers - so many of whom have turned out to change their stories. But I also don't want to be like Lindsay Lohan defending Harvey Weinstein ala 'he was also nice to me therefor he can't be rapist' he ho, guess im torn.

HoppityFrog3 · 26/02/2019 21:14

Desperate FOR attention and money. (Not or!)

Cla9 · 26/02/2019 21:15

I do think he was guilty of something.

kateandme · 26/02/2019 21:16

can you imagine in tomorrows paper Jeremy Corbyn has kids in his bed and for sleepovers. but what? he just like kiddies.ermmm yeh I can imagine that going down well.

Jordan Chandlers father had previously asked MJ for money to make a film, which MJ declined.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge That's irrelevant. That's Jordan Chandler's dad, isn't it? Not his son, who was 13 when his dad allowed him to stay with Michael Jackson.

Or do you think that a child has to put up with their parent's questionable decision?

I don't know, and would not like to speculate why Jordan Chandler's father asked Michael Jackson for money for whatever purpose, because he is still alive and able to sue.

But I'm not surprised that Jordan didn't want to testify. Many people don't - even when it's not going to be a worldwide media circus involving a much-loved celebrity with slavish fans.

If my dad had allegedly attacked and nearly killed me, I'd get a restraining order too. That would be the least I would do. Wouldn't you? So I don't understand the point you are trying to make.

The fact that you are saying that Jordan Chandler's dad is not a nice person doesn't mean that Michael Jackson, a client at his dental practice, could also not be a similarly unpleasant person.

AhhhHereItGoes · 26/02/2019 21:34

People don't want to view someone they admire like that so they will rationalise/change the details in their head.

Famous people get away with a lot more bad behaviour than the average person as they always have someone who they can rely on to bail them out or the masses won't believe such a talented x would do such a thing.

Whether he abused kids or not (I personally think he did) - he had no boundaries and screwed with the mental health and boundaries of young boys.

waxahatchee · 26/02/2019 21:36

*an you imagine in tomorrows paper Jeremy Corbyn has kids in his bed and for sleepovers. but what? he just like kiddies. ermmm yeh I can imagine that going down well.

WTAF? *

But this is exactly what my point is. If you found out your dad, uncle, anyone else and I mean anyone else was sleeping in a bed with children you would absolutely not say oh he's just childlike ConfusedConfusedConfused

He had naked pictures of young men in his house, this is proven. People are so deluded honestly. Just because you like his songs? He was so rich he could get the best lawyers in the world and we all know the percentage of rape and sex abuse cases that end in prosecution and that is why nobody prosecuted! Especially against such a rich and powerful man!

FrostedSnowdrops · 26/02/2019 21:37

I don't think he did anything abusive.

People say innocent until proven guilty, and MJ was proven innocent in a court of law. Sometimes people like to crucify certain individuals and I think MJ fell foul of that. I feel like we don't like people to succeed, sometimes people do so well it can't possibly be right so we find a way to screw then over.

FWIW I was sexually abused extensively as a child. I still don't believe the allegations in this film against Michael Jackson. It just doesn't sit right with me.

limitedperiodonly · 26/02/2019 21:39

Scammers will always see an opportunity to make money. That's why a number of people, around 20, I think, have been successfully prosecuted for fraud over the Grenfell Tower fire.

That doesn't mean that 72 people didn't die and someone or some people may be accountable for it and we should look into it and not dismiss their claims just because of fraudsters.

That's the same thing with Michael Jackson. Some people lied. Of course they did - they saw a lot of money. But I believe that some people were telling the truth and that they didn't get justice at his trial because people are in thrall to celebrity.

Just because some people have lied, and others declined to testify doesn't mean we should dismiss everyone's testimony

LadyDeadpool · 26/02/2019 21:41

The young boy who was paid millions to stop the law suit told the court exactly what Jacksons penis looked like and considering he had vitiligo it wouldn't have been easy to guess.

It's funny how we support women who are abused with #webelieveyou but young boys are to be ignored because they are accusing a famous person people liked.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 26/02/2019 21:42

He committed suicide.

I was just talking to dh about this tonight. I can't believe his music is still played on the radio. I would expect him to be totally shunned by the media now, like Savile and Gary Glitter. Infact, I can't believe he hasn't been blacklisted and discredited since 10 or even 20 years ago.

LadyDeadpool · 26/02/2019 21:43

"Jordan correctly identified a dark spot on the lower part of Michael’s penis, as per this legal document: Page 1, Page 2
Shortly after these photos were taken, Michael thought it best to pay Jordan $15 million instead of going through with the case. [The photos were taken December, 1993; the settlement document was signed in January, 1994.]
From one of Michael’s lawyers:

“…There had been an occasion where Michael Jackson was examined, and his genitalia was recorded, […] And that was part of the 300 pound gorilla in the mediation room. […] …the reality was we were hopeful that if we were able to “silence” the accuser, that would obviate the need for any concern about the criminal side […] If we don’t get this case settled before March, there is a criminal investigation looming, and no one wanted to consider the implications of that as it affected Michael Jackson.” "
