Why are people still deluding themselves about Michael Jackson??

If any grown man I know invited children to sleep in his bed with him there would be absolutely no question about what was going on. I am sure that most people would agree, why are so many people still deluding themselves about this?? Makes me so cross, why do they even play his music on the radio??

Yes, he never spoke out against Jackson but his Dad died when he was 4. He met Jackson through Taj Jackson. Taj was 5, Jonathan was 5, Michael was 20. Jackson bought him a car when he was 16. His photo was found at Hayvenhurst iirc.

ElektraLOL · 09/03/2019 22:41

Omg he looks exactly like Safechuck.

This whole thing is very upsetting. Nobody can go on defending Jackson without being an apologist for child abuse and rape.

Budsbegginingspringinsight · 09/03/2019 22:56

I was getting confused in the documentary between the two men.

I wonder if Peter Pan is actually some sort of euphemism. Leader of the lost boys etc.

Strikes me as being right in line with the abuse not something to excuse or hide it.

ValeurNutritive · 09/03/2019 23:04

He only had a nude photo of Jordan Spence, a child he regularly shared a bed with, because he didn't really have a childhood of his own.
HmmHmmHmm

Urgh2019 · 09/03/2019 23:11

I watched James on Oprah, he looks like a broken man.
I can’t really see how coming forward benefits these men, I know there is a lot of talk of cash, however how many men would say these things for that. For their mothers to go on camera and say they basically were complicit in their children being abused. I don’t see it.

I imagine MJ was clever enough not to abuse Culkin etc. He wouldn’t have had the power over those children as he did over the non famous children.

I always found the pretending to be a child act creepy. Lots of people don’t have good childhoods, they don’t spend their whole adults pretending to be a child. I don’t know why an adult really would choose to spend all their time with children (not their own as well) and not other adults. The videos of him on tour with a child tagging along are frankly fucking weird.

colouringinpro · 09/03/2019 23:18

Yes I think he consciously steered clear of kids like Culkin. From my understanding the men who were abused as kids were vulnerable, from poorer, less stable families.

Lovingbenidorm · 10/03/2019 00:12

Yes, he wouldn’t have dared go near MC.
He was v high profile, protective family and minders

ElektraLOL · 10/03/2019 05:17

I don't think MC came from a stable family. His parents basically sold him to the industry. But yes I agree that he would have been a much higher risk target.

The reason the most recent witnesses have come out now is presumably because they feel they can't heal until it's addressed. If you watched the documentary you'll see how much this whole thing has affected their relationships with their wives and children and caused strain with their parents who enabled the situation.

user1480880826 · 10/03/2019 06:24

How could your friend know? I don’t imagine child abusers are very public about what they get up to.

Petalflowers · 10/03/2019 07:22

Warped - sorry to hear about your experience. Hope you are okay. You are obviously distressed by it all these years later. Please go and talk to a counsellor and get some closure. He obviously did something very wrong (and intimate?). He was older and should have have known better not to do it. You were not culpable.

Petalflowers · 10/03/2019 07:23

Sorry, Luna, not W warped.

Budsbegginingspringinsight · 10/03/2019 08:30

Where are people watching the Oprah show.

Fairylea · 10/03/2019 08:31

Just stopping by to say goodbye and wish fellow posters well. I have been prolific on both threads debating issues and looking at the case from a legal standpoint but as we are near the end of both threads now I just wanted to personally wish everyone on them the best for the future, particularly any triggered by the events of the last week.

Thank you for the thread xx

Aeroflotgirl · 10/03/2019 11:27

Flowers RageAgainst this thread has brought a lot of emotions and issues to the forefront. Watching those two men recount their abuse at the hands of MJ was hard to watch.

Lizzie48 · 10/03/2019 11:30

Thank you from me too. It's been harrowing, and triggering at times, but I'm grateful to all of you who have made supportive comments. Smile

nannybeach · 10/03/2019 13:07

People have said on here MJ wasnt "mentally", ill, his behavior certainly wasnt on the normal spectrum, right down to having so much plastic surgery he facied was destroyed completely.

NiceNewShiny · 10/03/2019 14:51

I wonder if radio stations etc will
Stop playing his music. I hope they do.

ElektraLOL · 10/03/2019 21:53

Today I was in a pub type place which was playing song after song. So they've obviously decided to keep heads in sand 😡

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/03/2019 21:56

I've just watched part one and I'm convinced.

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/03/2019 21:57

The protest outside channel 4 earlier this week was disgusting. I don't know why they think James and Wade have anything to gain from going public.
