to ask at what age you stopped regularly hugging/cuddling your children?

I realise this is probably down to the child more than the parent...but I'm terrified I might be running out of hugging time with mine - so please reassure me that even teenagers need a hug sometimes!

Not as yet, she's 12.

I still hug both my parents on a regular basis.

My DD is taller than me, and still wants hug.

Climbs on my lap to squash me, as thinks it is so funny....
Climbs into bed for a hug, and grabs all the bed.

They never grow out of hugs.

Not yet and the oldest is 13. I'm 37 and still hug my parents every time I see them. I assume I always will, and I'll never stop hugging the DC.

My eldest still likes a good cuddle, he's 13.

It falls off a bit when they're teenagers but comes back when they get over it

My 19 year old DS will still come for a hug. Usually as we are passing in the kitchen.

16 year old dd hugs me daily. We've always been a family that hugs.

My 17 year old still gives me cuddles & me him tells me he loves me etc
So do my other 3, depends how affectionate you are as a family really but I hope my boys will always accept a hug from their mum

Mine are 25 and 28 and still get hugged, probably more keen on it now themselves than they were as teenagers.

My mum's always trying to hug and cuddle me and I'm in my late 30s...

Not yet with DD and she was 29 on Sunday.
DS (31) still hugs hallo and goodbye.

I still cuddle mine and they don't seem to mind. I have stopped picking them up for a cuddle though, as they are both over 6 foot

Ds's 24+26 visited yesterday, still get hugs and a kiss!

My 17 year old is difficult to pin down nowadays a little more reluctant, but he still hihs me. 14 year old hasn't stopped yet.

I plan on squishing them with hugs until the day I die

My 17 yr old is 6foot 2 and we hug and kiss hello /goodbye everyday.

Sometimes he just comes and sits next to me on the couch and I put my arm around him...

My ds1 with his own home and family, bear hugs me whenever he sees me, which can be everyday for a week and then nothing for 3 weeks, or just whenever we meet up.
Ds2 just still at home, a cuddle as soon as he's in from work.
Dd 15 and a boarder, whenever she is at home or I go to meet her, throws her arms round me.

I didn’t stop and my eldest of 5 is now 40. They get hugs, back rubs, foot rubs, and we quite often hold hands if we’re sat next to each other.

Never! Eldest is almost 21 & youngest is 16 & we still hug.

But j know what you mean. My dd is 10 and doesnt always want to be cuddled these days. But she sometimes really wants to be !

Mine was a really really slow starter on physical contact...she has sensory issues and even when she would consent to be hugged she always used to turn around and face outwards if you see what I mean...and then a couple of years ago she 'got' it and now we are very much making up for lost hugging time...

I suddenly got scared it would all go away again...but it looks like I have several more years of hugging to go!

DS was a sucker for family cuddles as a child which was the three of us hugging. He's 26 and much taller than us now but he still likes a hug when he comes home.

yesQueen sorry to hear that. I think this is why I'm nervous...I have almost no memories of close physical contact with my parents...so I worry that non-hugging may be genetic...and that having battled for DD and I to be comfortable with it, it will be too short lived.
