I realise this is probably down to the child more than the parent...but I'm terrified I might be running out of hugging time with mine - so please reassure me that even teenagers need a hug sometimes!

@M3lon I am as an adult very particular about hugs. I hug my DD, but she understands she needs to ask, I always hug her when she asks.
I cheek kiss my parents, my DP and I hug, but he always allows me to place myself in the hug in a way that I feel comfortable-we hug a lot, but on my terms.
The only individuals who get to determine how I hug them are my cats.

I'm 38 and still hug my parents. When I lived with them we would hug every morning before I went to school and every day when I got home.

About 10, maybe younger?
Bit odd to still be cuddling a 17 year old imo.

Mine are all young adults and still enjoy regular hugs! The most valuable piece of advice I ever received when my eldest (son) was born was ‘never stop hugging him- boys will push you away and /or stop coming to you so make sure the hugs come from mum’

When DD decided she didn't want it, she's not very huggy, she's 11.

My 16 year old son still likes a hug most days.

My first two in their teens, when they quite clearly didn't want hugs any more! My youngest (daughter) has always been more affectionate, and still asks for hugs and cuddles at 26.

I still hug my parents - they thought I'd stop but I never did and I still hug my teenagers, whenever they or I need them. You can't beat a hug for making you feel better - as long as it's willingly given.

My sons (24&28) still hug myself and my husband on meeting and leaving. My own family wouldn’t have been into hugging but my husband’s were, so we continued it. I’m glad!

My parents are not into hugs/ kisses, don't have ant memories of this as a child. My neighbours' mum Always hugged and kissed them Every time they said bye. I was always jealous of tjis abd do it with my own dc (4,2). It gives me such joy rading above posts knowing this doesn't havecto stop! :)
