to ask how much annual leave you get?

I get 25 (plus bank hols) days, and tbh I don't think I could take a job with much less than that.

The statutory minimum (28 including bank hols), seems to stingy, yet a lot of jobs seem to offer this. Even when i worked in a supermarket I got more than that.

42 days plus bank holidays.
I work 7 on, 7 off so effectively I'm only physically at work 4 months out of 12.

Not as many as most on here SadEnvy

I'm amazed at how much holiday most of you get. We get 18 days plus bank holidays at my company (uk).

hammylehamster · 18/02/2019 22:04

34 + an extra day if no sick leave in the last 12 months + bank holidays

Bishalisha · 18/02/2019 22:17

@EggplantVestibule I thought legal minimum was 20 + bank holidays.

I’ve never worked anywhere with decent annual leave.

1 job was 20 days plus bank holidays but there was a 2 week compulsory shit down period over Christmas

The other had 3 days compulsory shut down over Christmas with 20 days + 8 bank holiday days.

resipsa · 18/02/2019 22:17

Lots of holiday is great but if you work in a field where your minutes count (mine - law - every 6 of them) more holiday just means fewer days in which to record your target hours!

resipsa · 18/02/2019 22:21

I genuinely don't understand the jobs that give you, say, 2-3 months of holiday per year (average working days in month about 22 so any job giving you 44 plus) - what do you do that only takes 10 months out of 12 to do on a FT basis?

Bumper1969 · 18/02/2019 22:23

As a teacher, in Ireland I get 195 days and I enjoy every one of them.

Aside from teaching Smile

5 weeks plus extra for bank holidays worked so about 5and half weeks a year.

I'm a university academic. I always make sure I take at least a month off over the summer and have a decent Xmas and Easter break otherwise I'd burn out.

midgwit · 19/02/2019 07:55

I get 30 days plus bank holidays, and can make 2 flexi days every 4 weeks so an extra 26 days.

Taylia · 19/02/2019 14:04

33 days plus 8 BH, taken 10 years service to get that though.
We have the option to buy extra holiday but I never have.
