Sorry, I just can’t do it.

YANBU.

I've tried also, but alas, I cannot.

CherryBlossomPink · 14/02/2019 23:01

Nope, not working for me either. Loving Sara Cox on drivetime though.

GoldenSyrupLion · 14/02/2019 23:06

I like it. Tried Chris Evans on Virgin but think I'm done with that show now.

Jaspermcsween · 14/02/2019 23:07

Yup, Sarah Cox is doing a great job.

Weetabixandshreddies · 14/02/2019 23:07

I really like her. Listen every day since she took over

Nottobesoldseparately · 14/02/2019 23:08

I've moved to Virgin, followed Chris Evans.

They should have given it to Sara Cox!

beaveringaways · 14/02/2019 23:09

Exactly the same, followed Chris Evans but loving Sara cox on my drive home from work

ToEarlyForDecorations · 14/02/2019 23:10

They missed the mark not putting Sara Cox on the breakfast. The only thing Zoe Ball has got going for her is she's not squeaky Evans.

I can't believe the amount of yack, yack, yack that goes on. 8am twenty minutes of music then at 8.20am there's a guest then it's just a load of old yack until after the 8.30am news. Another twenty minutes of music then the ten to nine sports yack starts. Not as painful as when Evans was in sports pundit mode (despite having a whole Saturday afternoon radio football show at one point)

Just. play. music. It's not that difficult.

HappyEverIftar · 14/02/2019 23:11

It's the 'erm, erm erm erm' I can't bear

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 14/02/2019 23:13

I like Zoe and really want to enjoy the show but so far I'm a bit underwhelmed

Agree that Sara Cox would have been better

beachyhead · 14/02/2019 23:15

I think it's that the music is sooooo baaaddd

Jaspermcsween · 14/02/2019 23:16

Happy - yes ! The erm, uuuh,, the weird up and down changes in tone of voice .
The fast yapping.

I’m actually quite sad about it. I used to love the morning drive with the radio on.

DropZoneOne · 14/02/2019 23:22

I miss Terry Wogan. The soft, gentle voice on my drive to work. The camaraderie with the other people in the studio.

Chris Evans was too self centred and Zoe Ball is too frenetic.

Arnoldillo · 14/02/2019 23:27

I'm going to give her time to bed in. I think she seems genuinely sweet but hasn't found her feet yet. She's already a million miles better than that cunt Evans. Agree that what I really want is Terry though. 😟.

Sara Cox I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying listening to her. I loved Simon and never really rated her when I heard her before but she's doing a good job.

chocatoo · 14/02/2019 23:28

I really like Sarah...prefer her to Zoe.

Waterlemon · 14/02/2019 23:31

I really like Zoe Ball but I find the show a bit bland and doesn’t have the same liveliness as the other breakfast shows. I’m ashamed to say I’ve also followed Chris!

With Chris and other breakfast shows, it’s never a one-man-band, there are always others in the background that the presenter bounces off. Zoe doesn’t seem to have that team yet as Chris took them with him! (Vassos for example)

I never liked it when Sara cox stood in for Chris on the breakfast show - I hated her music choices and found the shows boring but I really do like her new drivetime show - I’m a Sara Cox convert! Maybe she just isn’t a morning person!

TwitterQueen1 · 14/02/2019 23:31

Terry was and always be, the best.

RomanyQueen1 · 14/02/2019 23:35

I couldn't stand TW, he was so false in everything he did.
didn't do bad for a bank Manager though.
Sarah cox is good, I'm not awake in the morning so don't listen.

Arnoldillo · 14/02/2019 23:36

YY. And the fact that they still haven't got it right yet even after all these years later just shows how difficult what he did, was. Even though it never seemed it.

Whitney168 · 14/02/2019 23:38

Followed Chris to Virgin and although somewhat bemused, am thrilled that the show seems to be virtually identical.

Loved Simon and will always regret his loss, but am quite liking Sarah at drive time. (Hated her in the mornings.)

Solo · 14/02/2019 23:38

I've stopped listening to the breakfast show and go straight to Ken Bruce. I don't dislike Zoe Ball but, I've not really listened to her breakfast show. I can't stand Sara Cox's accent but, I admit to flitting between her at 5 pm and Absolute. I do miss Simon Mayo, though :(

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 14/02/2019 23:43

Radio 2 in general is becoming harder to listen to.

Zoe Ball - I'm trying to like her, but, like others have said, there's too much yackety yak going on.

Jeremy Vine - Never liked him. When Ore Oduba was filling in for Jeremy, I could listen.

Steve Wright - Nope.

Sara Cox - I like her, but the 5.40 thing makes me cringe.

Jo Whiley - OK.

Trevor Nelson sets my teeth on edge.

Rylan Clark-Neal, the Essex raver, his professional Cockney mum and the embarrassing 'banter' with the traffic and travel announcer is just painful.

I like Absolute Radio, but the ads drive me nuts, especially late at night when it's "Strictly Secret", gambling and dating apps.

I just want music, traffic and travel, a bit of banter and some interaction with the listeners.

Ken Bruce, Sara Cox and Liza Tarbuck do it beautifully.

Although Liza is an acquired taste and a bit too 'full on' for a lot of people.

StirFriedBadger · 14/02/2019 23:46

Completely agree, I like but at the moment I'm finding this show hard work to listen to. I've tried a few times but now followed Chris to Virgin. Loving Sara Cox too.

Arnoldillo · 14/02/2019 23:46

I used to hate Liza but I'm really fond of her now. And I love her taste in music plus the fact that she chooses it, not a producer.

Honeyroar · 14/02/2019 23:48

I wanted to like Zoë, but I just don't enjoy the show. I used to detest CE but quite liked him in his latter years. I didn't expect to like Sara's show either, I'd not previously liked shows that she'd done, and I was gutted that Simon Mayo had left (although didn't think that he and Jo Whiley worked well together her), however I'm really liking Sara's show.

To be fair, they need to ditch Steve Wright much more than anyone else!
