To think everyone saying Shamima Begum should rot in Syria have completely overlooked the fact that she is pregnant

Just that really. She did a terrible thing going to Syria to marry an ISIS fighter. But she was only 15 and probably incredibly naive. She has already lost two children, one as a complication of malnutrition. And the child she is pregnant with has done nothing wrong. Surely we shouldn't leave him or her there to die too?

I don't think that's a helpful comment ^^ . it's Very antagonising and polarising.

Sorry, which post are you replying to?

Snowmaggedon · 18/02/2019 14:51

Sorry that was to Bertrand Russell.

I don't think it's helpful trying to compare a tiny handful of extremist Christians too a major group of extremist Muslims who have sent the world into chaos trying to establish a caliphate.

Secondly Christianity is wildly thought too have modernised over time and mostly practising Christians do so in mild modern way.
We know the same hasn't happened in Islam.

AnnaComnena · 18/02/2019 14:52

It's quite odd that she says "There's no evidence I did anything illegal". She used the words 'no evidence'. I would have expected someone to say "I have never done anything illegal", wouldn't you?

Isn't she the one who used her sister's passport to fly to Turkey? That's illegal, and presumably there's evidence of it.

MadCatEnthusiast · 18/02/2019 15:05

It's a bit pointless to jail her for using the wrong passport. It'd only be a short jail time. Why didn't the check in desk and Turkey notice that she wasn't the passport holder?

ReflectentMonatomism · 18/02/2019 15:19

Quite a lot of people look like their sisters. Especially if you're fifteen, and the photograph is of your sister when she was twelve or something.

Another interview here, can't find the full one yet!

LuvSmallDogs · 18/02/2019 16:58

My youngest sister and I could probably use each other’s passports - we’re forever hearing “I saw you on Jones Street yesterday” or “That’s a nice photo of you on FB” etc when it’s the other one. Even had one of my neighbours say “ooh I’m always bumping into you” to my sister when I was stood right next to her.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/02/2019 17:19

I once got through customs using my mums passport (accidentally - we were going together and grabbed the wrong ones).

I was 17 and she was 50. I’m 5”8 and she was 5”1. She was blonde and had glasses... I had neither. She found it very amusing.

JohnRT · 18/02/2019 19:09

The baby has a Dutch father. Let them have it

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/02/2019 19:21

He is on a camp and been accused of being a fighter.

Let’s face it, people volunteered for their ‘jobs’ out they and didn’t go out with feather dusters to tickle their enemies (heads in buckets etc). I don’t suppose Holland will be too keen. I wonder if he has been waxing lyrical about ‘holiday camp jihad’ to the Dutch media.

Beaverhausen · 18/02/2019 19:24

The shitty little cow has now said the Manchester bombing was well deserved in retaliation for the military bombing Syria and that GB deserves to be bombed.

And people want her back in the country, I think her parents need investigating too plus her solicitor.

Juells · 18/02/2019 19:31

Well...as I said in a previous post...she's so far removed from normal that she doesn't even know that what's coming out of her mouth is shocking to other people. The only good thing about it is what she's revealing about herself. So much for 'everyone should have sympathy for me' - self-obsessed and entitled.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/02/2019 19:37

And someone on twitter had pointed out that the new baby is named after the lost child - who was named after a ‘warrior’ who masaccared Jews. Ho hum.

God if this is what is actually coming our of her mouth, god alone knowns what is bubbing in that brain of hers that her mouth is censoring.

It does demonstrate what a mad bunch of crackpots trotted out to Syria. IQ of a bathroom slipper.

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 18/02/2019 20:04

She named the baby that because it's what her husband wanted. It struck me, watching that interview, that she is very much in thrall to her husband, wherever he is. I suspect that means that whatever he believes, she does too.

Juells · 18/02/2019 20:07

She's 19, she's responsible for her own thoughts. She has no empathy, she'd happily see all of us dead for not being Muslim.

OhDearGodLookAtThisMess · 18/02/2019 20:09

Maybe, if you've been brought up that way. But she clearly hasn't been. She has been persuaded to believe that IS was a good idea, after all.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/02/2019 20:10

People like her would want quite a fair chunk of the Muslim world population murdered too for not being ‘the right type’ of Muslim. These ones are more vicious to other branches of Islam.

MorrisZapp · 18/02/2019 20:13

If I went to California to marry a prick and grew out of it, I'd be expected to fly myself home. Why can't this girls family go and get her? What's stopping them?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/02/2019 20:16

My sister emigrated and married... divorced... she’d love to come home. Can the government pay (and give her a home please?).

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 18/02/2019 20:18

I don’t want her back. She isn’t repentant. But sadly I think we have no option, legally.

liverbird10 · 18/02/2019 20:21

What's the point in going on and on and on about whether she should be allowed back? Unfortunately, she's entitled to, as a British citizen. You cannot leave someone stateless. That's it.

If she can get out, she'll be back and facing punishment. As for people "not giving a fuck" about an innocent baby who's done sweet FA to anyone... bloody hell. Confused

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/02/2019 20:22

She’d be back to Syria like a whippet if she had the chance. How much taxpayers money will it cost to manage her for however long it takes? That money could be used for so many deserving cases. Woman’s refuges, fighting FGM, child protection... but a snotty, self entitled brat who would happily see (our) blood in the streets and doesn’t want to live with infidels anyway

JohnRT · 18/02/2019 20:23

They say UK must have her back cos cannot be stateless. She can become Dutch. Married to Dutch citizen for 3+ years. Baby is Dutch. She has been resident in EU/EEA for 15 years. All requirements met. Strip her of British nationality.

JohnRT · 18/02/2019 20:26

Plus she said she'd let her 1st son fight for ISIS. Reality check. She is a terrorist and supports terrorism. The baby is just another waiting in the wings.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 18/02/2019 20:26

A friend of mine who is quite dark skinned and has long dark hair and a beard (he has Greek heritage) travelled out of this country on his wife's passport recently. He had picked up the wrong one.
