What you’ve had for Saturday night dinner

Just got that really. Am doing the January thing if trying to eat a little healthier but usually have a takeaway on a Saturday- so compromise is making a home made curry that still involves butter and cream, but is a better choice than full takeaway with all the bells and whistles

A big bowl of porridge.

I'll do a roast dinner tomorrow.

VeniVidiViciTwice · 26/01/2019 20:40

I had fish dippers and potato and carrot waffles (oh and a couple of chipolata sausages Blush)

bluechameleon · 26/01/2019 20:40

Salmon with ginger and spring onions, stir fried vegetables and seven grains, then baked plums and custard for pudding

81Byerley · 26/01/2019 20:41

We had pork loin steaks, crushed new potatoes and fried tomatoes.

MysweetAudrina · 26/01/2019 20:41

Only me and dd here tonight so we had 2 wraps each with buttermilk chicken tenders, cheese, mayo and salad.

Dh doesn't really like wraps so we took advantage of him being away.

Longdistance · 26/01/2019 20:42

It’s curry in this house.
Prawn korma
Chicken, green bean and mushroom tikka
Cauliflower bhaji
Bombay potatoes
Naan bread
Rices
All made by my fair hands. Dd1 loved it. She’s so fussy, and didn’t realise it was s curry. Dd2, has a cold and wasn’t bothered.

Unescorted · 26/01/2019 20:44

Steak with peppercorn sauce, chips and salad. Followed by chocolate fudge cake because it is ds birthday and that was what he wanted.

hellololabells2019 · 26/01/2019 20:44

Cod and cockles in a white wine sauce with new potatoes and samphire

zebrarobot · 26/01/2019 20:45

We had low fat sausages, oven chips and beans.

On a bit of a health kick so all calorie counted but just what we wanted as a treat instead of usual takeaway.

Chocolateteapotferryservices · 26/01/2019 20:47

Roast chicken, roast potatoes, carrots, sprouts, peas, onions, gravy. Would normally do it for Sunday lunch but am having some vegetarians over tomorrow so planning a middle eastern veg tagine.

Amazed to learn from pp upthread that I can freeze avocados! Good old mumsnet

OopsUpsideYourBed · 26/01/2019 20:48

Mystery leftovers from the freezer. Turned out to be veggie chilli.

SisterOfDonFrancisco · 26/01/2019 20:49

Chicken nuggets with roasted potatoes and carrots.

wtf1981 · 26/01/2019 20:49

Jacket potato with tuna mayo, spring onion and grated cheese...not exciting but just what I fancied.

whendidimakethisbottle · 26/01/2019 20:49

Had butternut squash mac and cheese. DD threw it all on the floor, and I found out while we were eating that DP doesn't really like squash, so clearly was a big hit

Waveysnail · 26/01/2019 20:50

Steak with onions and mushrooms, salad and baked potaote. Quick and easy

MintyCedric · 26/01/2019 20:50

Spag bol...quick, easy and tasty after spending most of the day visiting my dad in hospital.

Now have a thrown together bread and butter pud in the oven as both DD (14yo and currently suffering with a stinking cold and time of the month) and I are in dire need of comfort food.

GrandTheftWalrus · 26/01/2019 20:50

Beer.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 26/01/2019 20:50

Rump steak and vegetables

bibbitybobbityyhat · 26/01/2019 20:50

We have a takeaway about once every 2 months, if that. Once a week is a lot?

Tonight's dinner was linguine all norma (aubergine, olive oil, tomato, garlic, basil, chilli, feta).

LadyKalila · 26/01/2019 20:53

Been to the pub so toast and Stilton, and for afters, Jaffa cakes.

cantbeb0thered · 26/01/2019 20:54

Fillet steak, chips, peas and sweet corn and pepper sauce

bibbitybobbityyhat · 26/01/2019 20:58

Lol at random grammar school boast on this thread. Gotta love Mumsnet.

MaryShelley1818 · 26/01/2019 21:02

I haven’t had anything as I’m just not hungry.
I had fish finger sandwiches for lunch followed by Mint Vienetta though 😋

WFTisgoingoninmyhead · 26/01/2019 21:02

DH and I have made a vegan chilli with guacamole and tortilla wraps, we prepared it together for the first time and shared it with a bottle of wine. What a fabulous evening we have had. We will definitely do it again.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 26/01/2019 21:04

Dark chocolate toblerone and red wine
