What you’ve had for Saturday night dinner

Just got that really. Am doing the January thing if trying to eat a little healthier but usually have a takeaway on a Saturday- so compromise is making a home made curry that still involves butter and cream, but is a better choice than full takeaway with all the bells and whistles

Celeriac soup with scallops and black pudding, followed by ceviche, followed by tuna steaks with coconut milk and rice... this is not normal! DS (12) wanted to make 4 course meal for his granny’s 70th and I really want to encourage cooking so went along with it! Pavlova with tropical fruit coming up later! So full ....

PassTheGinPlease · 26/01/2019 19:24

Homemade Chicken Tikka.
Not had it yet as DH is too busy shouting at the football

DareDevil223 · 26/01/2019 19:25

I didn't want to cook so I had Bath Olivers, cambozola cheese and some strawberries and raspberries. Just what I fancied.

I'm doing roast chicken tomorrow so I'll be getting my protein and veggies in then Smile

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 26/01/2019 19:25

Bad luck april, hope you can eat properly soon!

abcriskringle · 26/01/2019 19:25

Jacket potato and baked beans. Boring but we were too tired to bother with anything else.

StillRunningWithScissors · 26/01/2019 19:25

Salad, french bread and steak on the BBQ.

But we're mad

cliffdiver · 26/01/2019 19:25

Papa Johns as requested by poorly DDs.

ddodprob · 26/01/2019 19:25

Can’t help but laugh at the contrast of a one egg omelet and a deep fried pizza just one post apart (and have never had either so am curious)

ddodprop it’s great! All gluten and dairy free so they can sell to people with allergies. Carefully selected suppliers. Really interesting recipes. This is the first one not to my taste. Nothing wring with it as such, just not what I was expecting.

Piggyhoolier · 26/01/2019 19:27

Sausage & roast veg pasta bake. Was lush. Also made a blueberry loaf cake so having a slice of that for pudding. I did park run and swimming today so a nice story meal is hitting the spot nicely

earlybirdhasanap · 26/01/2019 19:27

Pork chops with sarladaise potatoes, green beans and a cheesey mustard sauce.
We were going to go out but I'm glad we saved our money now as it was lovely.

Jezzifishie · 26/01/2019 19:27

Veggie burger, salady bits, cheese and pickle. Delish 😁 I'm probably going to continue working through a box of chocolates later...

Montgomerystubercles · 26/01/2019 19:27

Vegan gluten free takeaway-kebab, dirty fries and "halloumi" bites. First time I've tried it and it was good!

ddodprob · 26/01/2019 19:28

@passtheginpleasr - oh we are having the same night - I’m cooking Tina masala while dh is shouting at the football (I’m wondering if like mine he is currently doing a happy dance around the lounge)? Smile

Chilli with rice, broccoli and garlic bread as per the law

Windgate · 26/01/2019 19:29

I'm trying to use up whats in the cupboard, freezer, fridge so ended up with corned beef hash with a poached egg.

Whobloodyknows · 26/01/2019 19:29

Takeaway curry Blush

JasperKarat · 26/01/2019 19:29

Home made sausage casserole (my take on a hairy biker's recipe with more veg and some chilli), with carrot, swede and potato mash -batch cooked a huge pot of both for week night meals, and tenderstem broccoli. I can smell it but can't eat mine until I've finished breast feeding DS ☹️

Moominfan · 26/01/2019 19:30

If I had just one egg in my omelette I'd be chewing my off arm

Maelstrop · 26/01/2019 19:30

Frittata amd green salad. Bloody delicious. Made by me.

beela · 26/01/2019 19:30

We took our dc out for a Chinese meal because ds is doing China as his topic at school this term. Result.

Huntawaymama · 26/01/2019 19:30

Bacon, egg, beans and proper greasy homemade deep fried chips. It was heaven, although I'll regret it tomorrow

ddodprob · 26/01/2019 19:31

@stillrunningwithscissors - I fear you may be my neighbour! Out bbqing today and just putting up a gazebo when the rain started 😊

Chicken tikka skewers with salad, chapatis and mango chutney.

Tomorrow will be sausages, roast potatoes, green veg and cauliflower cheese.
