Is there anyone who just eats normally?

I can't believe the amount of threads where the OP claims to eat only a boiled spinach shake for breakfast, plain cous cous for dinner and a salmon fillet with veg for tea. With of course, only an apple as a snack in between.

Is there anyone like me who just has a bowl of cornflakes for breakfast, a meal deal for lunch and then whatever I can be arsed putting in the oven for tea? I'm beginning to wonder if I'm massively unhealthy in comparison to most or whether people are just making this up.

People are more likely to write about what they eat if their eating habits are occupying their thoughts. Those people are usually deliberately trying to be more healthy or are worried because their diet is massively unhealthy. People who just eat whatever don't write about it on threads much.

Me I eat normally Smile I love those I live on spinach and fresh air threads I always think there food sounds so depressing. Yesterday for example I had nesquik for breakfast, I bacon butty and a bag of crisps for lunch and baked potatoes with cheese and beans for tea with 1000 cups of tea a Maltesers chocolate bar some skittles and some biscuits throughout the day Grin (for the record I'm a very healthy weight)

Iownabigvase · 22/01/2019 13:54

Yeah.. people who eat like you don't feel the need to boast about it.
It's just the people that have been really good/healthy that want to tell others. Mostly.

Not many people will come on and say
Breakfast: mars bar and 5 coffees
Lunch: red bull
Dinner: large pizza, one bottle of wine.

Some do though, and I love them for it Grin

(All for people being healthy at the same time before I get flamed 😉)

Me Smile

Today:

Marmite crumpets for breakfast.

Ham roll and mini cheddars for lunch.

Cottage pie planned for dinner.

Cheese and crackers (still left over from Xmas!) for supper.

A bucketful of tea in between and a few trips to the fruit bowl.

I eat whatever the fuck I fancy whenever I fancy it. Usually toast and marmalade for brekky, often dinner at lunchtime if I go and meet DP at work (yesterday was a roast) then dinner again in the evening with the DCs (oven fish and chips with peas last night). I also snaffled an Eccles cake, some McCoys crisps and a couple of chocolates.

FWIW I’m a happy size 16/18, went for a run in the morning, very sedentary job, but try and get out for a walk when I can.

I know I could eat a lot less and move a lot more, but I’m quite happy as I am and enjoy my life. I’m the only person I know who loses weight on an all inclusive holiday as I eat more and better food all year round - given a repetitive buffet of beige I tend to choose salads and fruit on holiday Grin

I think being able to eat like this and be a normal weight is very impressive and I would definitely boast in this scenario Grin

I've just had subway, crisps and a drink and I'm still hungry but these threads are making me feel guilty about having a biccy/chocolate bar!

What is Normal though? My normal would be very different to someone else’s normal!

Oddsocksandmeatballs · 22/01/2019 14:00

I have had a crisp sandwich for breakfast, nothing for lunch and sausage casserole is now in the oven for dinner. I do normally eat a more normal breakfast and have lunch but I have just come off nightshifts this morning and my body clock is all arse about face.

BottleOfJameson · 22/01/2019 14:01

Breakfast: DC1's left over cheese on toast
Lunch: fish finger and cheese sandwich with loads of tartar sauce
Dinner: Seafood lasagna (I made too much yesterday so we're having it again) it has spinach and tomatoes in it for some veg but I'll do steamed broccoli, carrots (with butter and garlic) and some peas too.

Loads of cups of tea too.

WH1SPERS · 22/01/2019 14:01

Yes. I eat normally but I don’t eat the same as you.

aidelmaidel · 22/01/2019 14:03

Breakfast today: beans on toast
Supper yesterday: apple and scavenged carrot cake because I couldn't be arsed to make dinner properly (baby had chicken, rice, peas, and banana to follow)
Lunch yesterday: pasta and cheese, goldfish crackers

also bananas and biscuits and masses of tea.

I'm never going to be svelte but I don't give a fuck any more so that's ok.

Ribbonsonabox · 22/01/2019 14:08

Haha I'm anthe opposite I munch while packets of biscuits and whole loaves of bread and have random snacks like a carrot or some icing straight out of the packet. My eating is horrendous. Sadly I dont know many women who dont have issues around food... they are either on a permanent rigid diet or binge eating. I know one woman who seems to eat pretty normally and I'm very jealous of her ability to do so!

Conseulabananahammock · 22/01/2019 14:10

Ive found my people 👌👌😍

mrsoutnumbered · 22/01/2019 14:11

Yes I often read those threads in disbelief!

Breakfast - toast with jam
Lunch - leftover lasagna
Dinner - pie and chips with gravy and peas

It's payday and the end of the week so I'm basically scavenging leftovers at the moment though 😂

Conseulabananahammock · 22/01/2019 14:12

Today ive had about 12 coffees
Toast for breakfast
2 packs of crisps for dinner
Having steak stirfry for tea followed by a monster energy drink and applr crumble and custard
Also some cream eggs need my attention

SushiMonster · 22/01/2019 14:13

I eat normally I think.

Breakfast is either fruit and yog, maybe with musli. Or toast. Or a bacon sandwich. Or eggs and avo. Or beans on toast. Or a pan au choc. Or a breakfast roll from Pret.

Probably fruit and yog 70% of the time tho.

Lunch is whatever the canteen has cooked.

Dinner is either home cooked or at a restaurant. Veg heavy.

Iownabigvase · 22/01/2019 14:15

peanut same! Although.. if you were really active you could get away with eating that without getting fat.. you'd probably feel like shit though.

Pk37 · 22/01/2019 14:17

I usually have a cup of coffee and some crisps for breakfast ..Blush
However , today is my fast day so no crisps for me Sad

GreenDinosaur · 22/01/2019 14:18

I've had 3 cups of coffee with honey, a hobnob flapjack, leftover chicken kiev, some liquor chocolates Blushand a banana.
Not great tbh....

Racecardriver · 22/01/2019 14:19

See what you describe really doesn’t seem normal to me.

recklessruby · 22/01/2019 14:19

On a restrictive day today so have had 5 coffees and an apple for breakfast and angel delight with skimmed milk for lunch. Dinner will be quavers and a cup a soup. Wispa bar (small) for work break.
Saturday is my treat day pizza and wine.
I know it's a bit disordered but I still need to lose a stone (15 pounds off so far).
I do a lot of walking in my job.

badlydrawnperson · 22/01/2019 14:20

Yes I eat normal crap instead of this weeks' latest terror horror low zanktine diet in which bread has been redefined as a toxic biohazard.

marymarkle · 22/01/2019 14:20

I eat so healthily on the internet. In real life very different.
So today, toast for breakfast, soup, bread and chocolate for lunch and chilli con carne and rice for tea. Might have some more chocolate as well.

Iownabigvase · 22/01/2019 14:22

Yesterday I had..
B:air
L: bacon and egg butty
D: loads of homemade carbonara
S: dairylee on today and bag of salt and vinegar crisps. Oh and a bottle of passion fruit cider.

Today I've had a poached egg on toast with a side of bacon.
No idea what dinner is gonna be. Might do a chicken dinner with allll the veg. And stuffing, paxo of course 😏

SushiMonster · 22/01/2019 14:22

IMO 'healthy' is real meals, sitting at table, with moderates amount of everything.

I don't consider fad diets that restrict entire food groups to be healthy.
