Inspired by another thread on here, AIBU to have a wish list if clothes I wish existed?

I want...
Tights that don't fall down/ cut me in half/ ladder / go wobbly.
Jeans with proper pockets, enough to fit a mobile phone without it peeking over the top.
Comfortable bras that don't cost a fortune.
Pants that match the above bras that aren't made of polyester.

What else would you add?

@CornishYarg - I need chunky calves advice, where do you get trousers from?

LEDadjacent · 21/01/2019 19:59

Long jumpers, tunic or dress length (for wearing over tunics or dresses!), ideally in a cotton knit.

Stopped wearing trousers most of the time as they either fit my bum or my waist, never both, and I hate that gap at the back. Same with pencil skirts.

Sorry but I like petite sizing as I have small shoulders and a lot of "normal" cut stuff is too big around the shoulders but would definitely like more choice and less emphasis on "girly" styling

LoniceraJaponica I still have some of those m&s jeans that were made in different shapes, very well worn. They were long, not skin tight on the thigh, fit on the hip and with minimal gape on the waist.
If they'd carried on making them I'd have bought a pair every year.

@BikeRunSki

I've not had too much trouble with finding trousers tbh. I've had to accept that slim fitting tailored trousers/cigarette pants just don't suit me though! So when I used to wear suits, I went for straight or wider fitting styles. Now I mostly live in jeans and can just about get away with skinny jeans, usually Next ones (when I say get away with, I mean fit into rather than look fantastic in!!). I do have to go slightly bigger on the waist than I'd like, mind you, to fit my legs so I always have to wear a belt with jeans.

Thank you @CornishYarg, I have trouble finding trousers that actually get over my legs. I’d settle with going above my knees, looking halfway decent would be a bonus! The fashion for skinny and slim leg leg is very frustrating, I can find very little in the shop that fits round my lower in the shops, without going up 2 or 3 sizes!

Yes to the knicker gussets being located in the right place!

I want serious flattering functional swimwear in larger sizes - talking square neck, low scoop back, supportive bust area, flattering colours and sporty flashes (not floral mumsy baggy stuff).

More square necklines...flattering for my larger chest, more boat necks (though I wore them a lot first time around in the 1980’s 😉)

Some nice midnight blue coloured matching underwear in supportive large sizes - M&S

My favourite clothing suppliers:

Josef Siebel footwear (German) love thier leather clogs to wear indoors as my slippers

Bolla Bags - a small uk independent leather bag manufacturer - love them.

Woolovers - online, I buy loads of the silk/cotton mix knitwear for the lovely comfy feel against my skin, multiple colour options, I have way too many...

and my latest find;
One Hundred Stars (online) - fabulous print kimono tops, scarves etc - especially the gorgeous Kew Garden and Maps inspired range

Honestly, I can forgive most clothing stores for their lack of variety but the one thing I would love to see is long-sleeved pyjamas available all year round.

I have eczema and so it's far more comfortable to sleep in long-sleeved pyjama tops and full-length pyjama bottoms. It's not so fun walking into my shared kitchen wearing Christmas patterned pyjamas in the middle of the summer. There is something even more frustrating about thinking you've found a really nice set and then discovering it has the dreaded three-quarter-length sleeves.

(Yes, I'm looking at you, Marks and Spencers)
