Inspired by another thread on here, AIBU to have a wish list if clothes I wish existed?

I want...
Tights that don't fall down/ cut me in half/ ladder / go wobbly.
Jeans with proper pockets, enough to fit a mobile phone without it peeking over the top.
Comfortable bras that don't cost a fortune.
Pants that match the above bras that aren't made of polyester.

What else would you add?

Maybe Asian bras will become as a revelation as Asian skincare Grin

Racecardriver · 21/01/2019 09:18

Clothes that allow room for breasts. It seems like the majority of clothing is designed for a c cup.

Aethelthryth · 21/01/2019 10:01

Jackets for the narrow not shoulder but large of bust

Natural fibres! Although Uniqlo is fantastic for basic merino jumpers and cardigans in lots of colours

LoniceraJaponica · 21/01/2019 12:05

“Why no choice of trouser length?”

I don’t know where you shop, but most places I shop offer various trouser lengths. Yes to coats and jackets with inside pockets. I don’t want to always lug a handbag around with me.

I am 5’7” and have a fairly long body, but don’t have the problem with tops being too short. Just how long do people want their tops? Being a pear shape, long tops accentuate how narrow my top half is so I like my tops to end just above my hips. I find most tops are too long.

I want clothes that are sold in colours of all the seasons all year round. I had my colours done years ago, and suit winter colours. I can never find clothes that suit me in autumn because they are all autumn hues. I don’t want lime green and yellow in spring – M and S I am looking at you.

Iooselipssinkships · 21/01/2019 12:31

Padded bras or the '2 cup sizes bigger' that are DD+ anyone know of any??

IDismyname · 21/01/2019 12:33

I hear you!

More clothes with sleeves
Longer bodies
Wider sleeves esp around the top
More V neck jumpers
More natural fibres that WILL LAST

The places I do shop at are:
Lands End good for their Tugless swimsuit for long bodies
Kettlewell for every colour, but they've abandoned their love of cotton and stuff is too clingy...
Uniqlo for their basics T Shirts

Can someone recommend somewhere where I can buy longer sweaters in natural fibres...??

Btw - I am loving someones recommendation of The Shoe Embassy!

LoniceraJaponica · 21/01/2019 12:52

"Padded bras or the '2 cup sizes bigger' that are DD+ anyone know of any??"

Why would you need one if you are already a DD+? Confused
As a 32B I need all the help I can get. I would be delighted to have a DD cup.

IDismyname for V neck jumpers look in the men's section. They have a much better choice.

Time40 · 21/01/2019 13:03

Oh god - so many things. So very many.

Beautiful, dainty, elegant flat shoes that have a thickish, but not obvious sole, so I can actually walk a long way in them. Not ballerinas; shoes that cover more of the foot, or have a little strap. And in contrast to lots of other posters, I want them pointed. Pointed every time.

Jeans that aren't bloody blue. I want khaki jeans, brown jeans, green jeans.

A bikini that fits, and isn't itsy-bitsy teeny. A modest, 60s-style one. I haven't been able to find a bikini I like for over ten years. Ten years without a bikini!

Tankinis that actually fit.

Accurate reproductions of vintage clothes and accessories of all types. I desperately want a green 1950s suit and some 1920s summer dresses, and 1920s coats.

Lovely comfortable tunic tops in reproduction vintage fabrics, ie, modern in style but with vintage prints. I would sell my soul for a source of those.

Magicpaintbrush · 21/01/2019 13:14

White tops that aren't see-through.

Dresses that are made of fairly sturdy material so they hang nicely, instead of wispy material that shows every single bump/bulge.

Dresses that are knee-length instead of mid-thigh. Nobody needs to be seeing my thighs these days.

Nice illustrative patterns on tops and dresses, not foul floral prints with colours that clash.

Ballet style pumps that don't slip off.

Magicpaintbrush · 21/01/2019 13:15

Ooh, yes to the poster above re. the vintage style prints, I'm in total agreement, I would love that too.

Magicpaintbrush · 21/01/2019 13:16

And Pyjamas with sleeves and legs that are actually long enough!

Purpleartichoke · 21/01/2019 13:54

Stop making all sleeveless dresses and tops with giant armholes.

LoniceraJaponica · 21/01/2019 13:56

It appears that many designers are just skimping on materials to make clothes cheap: too short pyjama trousers, huge armholes, too short tops, too short sleeve lengths. I wish they wouldn't waste material on adding frills and frippery, and just add it on to armholes/sleeve lengths/trouser lengths instead.

BlooperReel · 21/01/2019 14:48

Dresses with a slightly longer back, those of us with stick out generous behinds hate the fact that a dress is a modest length at the front and then 3 inches shorter due to arse liftage at the back.

Amortentia · 21/01/2019 15:56

So many things already mentioned that I agree with. Being short with big boobs I realised a long time ago that most retailers do not want to sell me clothes.

One thing that really drives me nuts is that most shops don’t sell clothes that are appropriate for a type British climate. They sell big puffy coats in winter that can’t get wet, why? Then in summer you would think everyone was packing up and heading to the beach. When most of us will spend the majority of our time in a moderately warm, dryer climate still going so work etc.

purpleme12 · 21/01/2019 16:36

Nooooo pyjama bottoms are already way too long! The bottoms get ruined cos they're too long! Never mind too wide! Ridiculously wide a lot of them

LoniceraJaponica · 21/01/2019 16:54

"One thing that really drives me nuts is that most shops don’t sell clothes that are appropriate for a type British climate."

This ^^ with bells on. I remember trying to buy a cagoule for DD one summer, and couldn't find one anywhere. We susually get a fair amount of rain during a British summer, but children's cagoules were as rare as hen's teeth because it was summer Hmm

I would like to be able to buy a warm cardigan in the summer because my office has arctic air conditioning. I don't want to wear a sundress to work either.

"Nooooo pyjama bottoms are already way too long! "

Grin Clearly not for most of us. I am 5'7", so tallish, but not exceptionally so. Pyjama trousers are always too short for me. I once thought I had struck gold when I found a pair of pyjamas with extra long legs in Next. The legs shrank three whole inches in a 40 degree wash Angry
tallwivglasses · 21/01/2019 17:01

Where are all these trousers for apple shapes that a pp mentioned? All the ones I see assume I have 50 inch hips.

Yes to pockets. Yes to longer sleeves. And a tall range that caters for 6ft and over. M&S, your long isn't bloody long enough.

LoniceraJaponica · 21/01/2019 17:03

M and S sell a lot of clothes for women with no waists. I can't buy skirts from there as the waists gape so much.

rightreckoner · 21/01/2019 17:07

Yes Lonicera. M&S were the culprits I had in mind. Maybe it's my huge hips as opposed to my teeny, tiny waist (which is actually not really all that tiny Blush) but they definitely cut to more of an apple shape than I am. But as I said elsewhere also, we need various different cuts to accommodate both tallwivglasses and me (not at the same time Grin)

LoniceraJaponica · 21/01/2019 17:17

For a while M and S did sell jeans for different shapes. I think they took the idea from Levi who sold the Levi Curve range.

CornishYarg · 21/01/2019 17:40

Another vote for swimwear for the big booked and long of body. I mentioned this last time I was in Bravissimo: if the swimming costume's underwire is in the right place, the gusset is yanked right up. The only suggestion was a tankini but as already said, they're not long enough either so I get a gap at my stomach. If I wanted that, I'd just buy a bikini and be done with it!

I really just want more affordable stuff for those of us who happen to be slightly unusually shaped! I have big boobs and chunky legs; yes, Bravissimo and Duo cater for me but they're expensive (especially Duo).

CornishYarg · 21/01/2019 17:41

"Boobed" not "booked"!

purpleme12 · 21/01/2019 18:42

Oh god I am the opposite! I can't fit the costumes in bravissimo cos I'm short and big boobs and small back (so not in proportion) and their costumes are not made for that! I have to get bikinis where the top fits and the bottoms are so gappy!
I gave feedback but they said that there just wasn't the demand for smaller bottoms - cos the bottoms are bigger than high Street shops cos I fit knickers in high Street shops

Flaskfan · 21/01/2019 19:48

Fig leaves for bikini. I have one with massive knickers from there- right past my belly button.

Sloggi nonunderwiredd bras. I'm an e-f and they fit.
