Inspired by another thread on here, AIBU to have a wish list if clothes I wish existed?

I want...
Tights that don't fall down/ cut me in half/ ladder / go wobbly.
Jeans with proper pockets, enough to fit a mobile phone without it peeking over the top.
Comfortable bras that don't cost a fortune.
Pants that match the above bras that aren't made of polyester.

What else would you add?

Jeans, in fact, any trousers that are not long enough. I don’t want material teetering above my ankle in winter!

For round flats and boots try Russell and Bromley - a little punchy in price but they last forever.

Arkos · 19/01/2019 12:49

Im another who has overdeveloped arm muscles from sport and can't get tops to fit

n0ne · 19/01/2019 12:49

Coats with big hoods that stay up when windy
'Nude' underwear to come in a range of skin colours as standard (I know there is one brand that does this but it's expensive) - if tights can do it, why not bras/pants?

TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain · 19/01/2019 12:54

Nice bras without padded/moulded cups. I prefer a seamed cup as they accommodate my boob shape better and provide nipple coverage. I'm quite sweaty and don't want wodges of polyurethane foam down my top. Plus, my boobs are one of the few parts of my body I'm happy with and I don't want them enlarged or reshaped.

I'd quite like things to be less tight and stretchy as well, mainly for sweat-related reasons. T-shirts that aren't shaped and don't have scoop necks. Many women's t-shirts now ride up over my belly which is not a good look, and scoop necks don't suit me. I would buy from the men's section but I'm 5'2" so it doesn't work.

purpleme12 · 19/01/2019 13:00

Think the riding up your tummy thing must be the fashion now they must have started making them from different material cos my recent tops also ride up my tummy too. My tummy is my worst part of me so I'm not a fan of this

GrumpyGoose · 19/01/2019 13:13

Been fucking well thinking about this since Christmas. Asked OH for some comfy lounge pants for Christmas, criteria were that they were cuffed at the ankle and had a drawstring waist. He ticked the boxes on 3 pairs until I realised THEY WERE FAKE DRAWSTRING.

WHY.

FFS.

I've never seen menswear with fake drawstrings, the wankers.

And breathe.

StripyHorse · 19/01/2019 13:26

Bikerunski thank you I will have a look.

Clothes that are cut for women with wide hips, big bottoms and small waists. Apparently all jeans, trousers and dresses in the UK are designed for big tummies and flat bottoms!

Wireless bras with padding

StripyHorse · 19/01/2019 13:37

I want longer tops too. Often it seems to be a choice between tent, or fitted and short. In my early 20s, I had a lovely waist and flat stomach that I was happy to show off. That was so long ago. However I am perfectly padded for giving ace cuddles to my children- I just don't need that on show.

I would love longer PJ trousers too. I know it doesn't really matter as I am sleeping in them, but I love a good pair of PJs!!!!

ghostyslovesheets · 19/01/2019 13:41

petit clothes that are the same SIZE as big clothes but shorter - not tighter - I'm looking at you Next!

Zazagabor · 19/01/2019 13:41

I would like slippers/flip flops in size 4.5, not size 3-4 or 5-6

Phineyj · 19/01/2019 13:45

Hotter are good for flats without pointy toes. I have 5 pairs of 'Jewel'. They're not cheap but they last for ever - the pair I bought in 2011 is still going strong!

Phineyj · 19/01/2019 13:46

I would like more tops for tall, well built (aka chubby) people with flat chests. Everything gapes on me.

purpleme12 · 19/01/2019 13:48

I would like pyjama bottoms that don't swamp me/make me look like a clown

PippilottaLongstocking · 19/01/2019 13:52

Dresses designed for tall people. I’m 5’8” which I’m sure isn’t THAT tall but what’s supposed to be a cute knee-length dress turns out to barely cover my bum, and the waist always sits too high.

Vintage Levi’s are the ultimate jeans IMO, not sure if mine are men’s but the pockets are huge, they sit perfectly on my waist and are super comfy

StripyHorse · 19/01/2019 14:33

PippilottaLongstocking yes, same here. 'Tall' dresses are often still too tall, but 'normal' dresses don't fit right - Especially the waist.

Swimming costumes too, especially as I like to have just support / underwires.

Another pear shape that struggles (plus I'm short. Properly short like 26" inside leg, not 29" inside leg... if my legs were 3" longer, I'd be average not short, duh! Confused)

I want matching bras and pants. Pants I can actually fit a whole size 10 bottom in, and high enough waist to tuck the mum tum in AND a nice accompanying bra that bolsters the 32Bs. Not that I am 32B, but wanting a smaller back/ bigger cup is apparently unreasonable especially given the requirements of my glutemus maximus.

On a similar note, yy to the trousers that actually cover my pants. Bonus points if they still cover my bum when sitting. What is it with the awful rear gape. Belts are awful because the gather in all the spare waist like a sack of potatoes.

Clothes suitable for slim children. Button, elastic waists help but I rarely get them off maximum potato sack fitting before they outgrow width. Shoulders only just about get off the arms to the shoulders when the length of body and arms is getting outgrown. Then you buy the next size up and everything sags off yet again. The school logo tops are awful for it. Not long enough for the chest size at all. DS2 has a choice of constantly hoiking up trousers or wearing them at half mast. The upside of DS1's trouser refusal is that he can get away with shorts for children half his age.

Running races to do XS t-shirts. I and so many other small female runners are not a unisex mens small. Running with elbows halfway down your arm is not fun.

Armpits in the right place and size. I had various workshirts that had to go because the cut didn't allow enough arm movement to write on a board. Women can have biceps!

bridgetreilly · 19/01/2019 15:06

Bras for fat girls with small boobs. Preferably pretty ones that aren't either super-super-sexy or look like a feat of structural engineering. Just a nice, reliable, reasonably priced source of 42C or 44C, please

Queenie8 · 19/01/2019 15:28

@Another try kids/teens section for you. I'm often wearing teenagers clothes. Boden/New look/M&S/Next.

londonmummy1966 · 19/01/2019 15:33

Pockets - why are women's clothes always pocket free even when the male version has them?

MereDintofPandiculation · 19/01/2019 15:38

Skirts and dresses with pockets - big enough to carry purse in one and phone plus keys in the other.

Fitted clothes (with pockets) which look nice on a small framed just-over-five-feet who never looks elegantly draped, just like she's wearing clothes belonging to someone much bigger.

hopelessatthinkingupusernames · 19/01/2019 15:43

Affordable bras. I have a small back size with a large cup size which means I can only buy bras in a few places and they cost a fortune.

Seperate nursing & maternity clothes. When I was pregnant I didn’t need nursing clothes and when I was breastfeeding I wasn’t pregnant so wanted normal sized clothing rather than maternity.

PJ bottoms without cuffed ankles.

Trousers with a decent length. I’m 5’8, ankle grazer jeans make me look like I’ve just bought them too short.

Elphame · 19/01/2019 15:49

Trousers to fit a 35" inside leg. I haven't had a pair of formal trousers for 15 years now

AnotherPidgey · 19/01/2019 15:50

@Queenie I can sometimes do children's tops, but the bottoms tend to be too skimpy for my womanly curves Grin

Moondancer73 · 19/01/2019 16:06

Bras that don't cost the earth if you need anything over a 36d - something vaguely pretty to boot would be amazing. Pretty tops in a size 18 that don't have bloody butterflies on them too - I might have extra pounds but I don't need butterflies, bows, high necks or flowers
