Inspired by another thread on here, AIBU to have a wish list if clothes I wish existed?

I want...
Tights that don't fall down/ cut me in half/ ladder / go wobbly.
Jeans with proper pockets, enough to fit a mobile phone without it peeking over the top.
Comfortable bras that don't cost a fortune.
Pants that match the above bras that aren't made of polyester.

What else would you add?

OP posts:

Night clothes without teddies on them. I like a long (below the knee) long sleeved jersey nightie without a cuddly toy picture on it because I am 50 not 5.

Yoga tops that admit that women wear bras. Yoga tops so often have racer backs Hmm

Jeans that don’t gaps at the back.

Sleeves.

Mid heel shoes that you can walk a mile in.

An end to the cold shoulder epidemic Angry

Clionba · 19/01/2019 16:29

Dear god, all those ghastly cold shoulder tops.
Proper cotton t-shirts with good coverage and in white without being transparent.

FaFoutis · 19/01/2019 16:33

I would just like NO MORE POLYESTER.
I will not buy it, ever, even if the shops are only selling polyester clothes. Which they are, just about.

Also, size 9 shoes.

Lexilooo · 19/01/2019 16:36

Knee length boots that are actually knee length even on someone a bit taller than average, preferably also with room for a bit of calf muscle without being cut like wellies.

purpleme12 · 19/01/2019 16:56

I would like shoes/boots for narrow feet!! So badly need that! It is nigh on impossible to find truly. They've had sections for wide feet for years now but oh no still nothing to cater for narrow feet!

Pinkbells · 19/01/2019 17:06

Much more cotton as standard and less nasty polyester

morningconstitutional2017 · 19/01/2019 17:14

Flat shoes that are comfy and smart.
Bras which have straps set nearer to the centre back so they don't need adjusting multiple times to stop them slipping.

Socks for small feet (size 3) which have a wider leg - no, your 'one size fits all' is nonsense.

Coats which are reasonably priced and have a lining.

Slippers which last longer than a year.

AriadnePersephoneCloud · 19/01/2019 17:15

Yes please to cotton underwear, I love matching underwear but no longer have any because I no longer wear nasty, thrush inducing knickers.

Also completely agree, petite sizing should be shorter, not a completely different size. It's just annoying!

littlemisscomper · 19/01/2019 17:15

I have no boobs but a big tummy, so when I bend over wearing a size 14 top my lack of cleavage means you can just see right down the gaping neckline! And I'm not talking about specially low cut tops of course, just normal necklines. I wish the brands I wear (mostly Mistral, sometimes FatFace and White Stuff) would have higher necklines. It's a real problem for me.

Miltonkeynesmummy · 19/01/2019 17:16

Good quality flat shoes that are plain. No bows, stripes or hideous details.

bruffin · 19/01/2019 17:22

Pants that match the above bras that aren't made of polyester.
M&S used to do cotton bras that you could buy coordinated 6 packs of knickers. Was so disappointed when they stopped. The bras werent padded either .

FloralTeacup · 19/01/2019 17:23

Another one for putting an end to the cold shoulder epidemic!

Bras with a 28-30 band size in more main stream shops.

More tops/jumpers of a standard length. They’re all either cropped, or hip-grazing length! I’m not tall, so it’s not me, it’s the style.

MrsMoastyToasty · 19/01/2019 17:24

Clothes for women that are size 20plus that aren't made of artificial fibres; have a variety of necklines; and will also fit those of us who are vertically challenged (most petite ranges stop at size 18).

BobbinThreadbare123 · 19/01/2019 17:31

30" band size bras yes!
Pockets. Actual pockets.
Tops without enormous armpit holes so the side of my bra isn't visible all summer long.

StellaRockafella · 19/01/2019 17:39

To the posters who yearn for 100% cotton knickers without lycra, elastane, modal or anything similar - you realise that such knickers wouldn't fit close to the body as the material would be like a cotton bed sheet. Imagine bloomers.

John Lewis do great cotton knickers. I think they're 99% cotton with a measly 1% lycra.

I just want more clothes made of natural fibres and a ban on polyester. I also wish the turnaround on clothing wasn't as fast. I don't think the fast fashion industry is sustainable.

LoniceraJaponica · 19/01/2019 17:40

I'm with you on this littlemisscomper. Necklines are just too wide or too low for me. I'm looking at you White Stuff, especially. I like a scoop neck, but not too low. Boat necks are hideous on me and just show how boney my shoulders are. It isn't a good look.

lotusbell · 19/01/2019 17:48

Petite/short ranges that are shorter than 29" leg. Still swamp me. Yes, I can take trousers up but jeans are difficult and while many places do 30"/32" leg, some even 34", they don't seem to go down for us shortarses.

lotusbell · 19/01/2019 17:51

V necks/wrap dresses that actually flatter but dont gape and show off your bra. More normal lengths for sleeves. Some shops -
I'm looking at you, Next - have this thing for those awful cap sleeves. They flatter no one!

Phineyj · 19/01/2019 18:22

Wallis do inexpensive coats with linings.

BikeRunSki · 19/01/2019 18:34

Stretchy multi size clothes that are 14-16; not 12-14 (too small) or 16-18 (too big).

LoniceraJaponica · 19/01/2019 18:54

I hate multi size clothes I want a size 12, not a 12-14 or a 10-12. and those one size fits all drapey designs just don't work. They aren't one size, they are a 16 (usually)

LoafEater · 19/01/2019 18:56

Mid heel shoes that are attractive
Sleeves I can get my arms into
Pockets I can put things in
Dresses that are knee length (I’m only 5’7, but everything is bum skimming)
Trousers I can get my calves into

These requirement make me sound like a very odd shaped woman! I am slightly above average height, am a size 14 and I can’t get clothes that fit!

labazsisgoingmad · 19/01/2019 18:56

jeggings or leggings or even trousers that actually stay up if i do anything more than sit still
tops that cover my large bust and are long enough to actually cover my bottom instead of stopping at hip length
enough of the cutesy things on tops like soppy bears etc im 54 not 4

bridgetreilly · 19/01/2019 19:09

Stellarockafeller

No, you can have 100% cotton jersey. Plenty of t-shirts are 100% cotton. They would, however, lose their shape more quickly than ones with a little bit of lycra.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 19/01/2019 19:17

Yes to sleeves big enough for women with muscular or fat arms! And winter coats with sleeves that can accommodate wearing a thick jumper underneath.
Natural fibres at reasonable prices. I have gradually bought fewer and fewer clothes because everything on the high street is polyester now, but I have clothes from Topshop etc that are years old and made of cotton/wool/linen blend stuff - you’d never get that now.
Jeans in leg lengths. Levi’s only come in 32 or 34 length now - they used to do 30.
Shoes that don’t fall apart from walking a couple of miles a day.
