Inspired by another thread on here, AIBU to have a wish list if clothes I wish existed?

I want...
Tights that don't fall down/ cut me in half/ ladder / go wobbly.
Jeans with proper pockets, enough to fit a mobile phone without it peeking over the top.
Comfortable bras that don't cost a fortune.
Pants that match the above bras that aren't made of polyester.

What else would you add?

Tops large enough to accommodate my bust without having arms long enough for a gorilla.
Pants that are in decent cotton with gussets in the right place.Who else makes knickers like the ones M&S used to, not the tat they sell now.?

OopsUpsideYourBed · 19/01/2019 19:24

White t-shirts that aren't see through.

Lately t-shirt material quality is v poor and thin and nearly indecent without a vest.

KatharinaRosalie · 19/01/2019 19:27

Pockets! Actual pockets, not tiny decorative ones that won't hold shit. It's so easy to put a pocket on a dress or skirt and will make the garment so much more useful.

Sleeves. No, cap sleeves are not sleeves. I don't want to flash my armpits in the office thanks.

Could we please get over the skinny jean/trouser obsession? Great if you like them, but every shop now has 1001 skinny versions and then one straight pair somewhere in the back of the stockroom.

Comfortable but elegant shoes. Not all women have narrow feet. Just because mine are a bit duck-like wider does not mean I want to impersonate Bob the Builder.

Hotterthanahotthing · 19/01/2019 19:38

Agree with White Stuff tops.Bought one for my DD size 10 and it was indecent.Which gets me on to clothes sizing. While returning the top we spotted a nice corduroy skirt.Only the size 6 fitted and she still needs a belt. All the shops are different.

OldJoseph · 19/01/2019 19:43

I would like the dress that existed for me as a child in the 70s.

So the top half of the dress is a vest and the bottom half is a skirt. The skirt could be wool whilst the vest is cotton or cotton/lycra mix. They hang well and mean you can layer the top half with shirt, cardigans and jumpers without too much bulk. Also much comfier around the tummy than skirt.

kateandme · 19/01/2019 19:52

lounge wear that makes me look like Rachel and monica do when they wear them in friends!

Swimsuits for the long of body AND big boobed. It’s always one or the other.

All I want is:
foot shaped shoes
Tit shaped bras
and
Bum shaped pants

Schneeball · 19/01/2019 20:10

Dresses with sleeves in the summer that are work appropriate.
Less black (never wear it).
Casual wear for hourglasses.
Another one for COTTON pants to match nice bras. None of my underwear matches.

Oly4 · 19/01/2019 20:10

I have a few of the things on your wish list. Flat shoes with no points - Russell and Bromley. Expensive hut comfortable.
Decent loungewear - white company.
Cotton basics in good colours - I think Boden do these really well.

StripyHorse · 19/01/2019 20:12

Arfarfbarf yes yes and yes again! I either have no boob support (not good), underwires being pulled down towards my waist (also not good), or a tankini... showing an inch of flesh... like a white blubbery liferaft.

Standandwait · 19/01/2019 20:22

Gosh, where are you all shopping? I would kill for point toe flats (far more flattering than those clunky round toes) and narrower sleeves😁

Totally agree about boob room though. How come the cheapest men's shirts come in collar sizes but we have to make do with S M L???

ipswichwitch · 19/01/2019 20:23

I always wonder at these supposedly talented designers, I mean, anybody could design clothes that make a supermodel look fabulous but imo, it takes a real talent to make someone like me look fabulous in clothes!

I’m a short size 14 and find long sleeves are often too tight, but short sleeves have these massive arm holes so the entire world can see my armpit as well as the side of my bra. Attractive!

As mentioned, I’m short, but find the vast majority of tops barely cover my belly button. I have a c-section shelf ffs, I’d quite like to hide that!

FuzzyShadowChatter · 19/01/2019 20:29

Longer tops would be lovely, I have a few but it would be nice if they were easier to find or if most of the few I had weren't actually quite short dresses I use as long tops...

Mid-shin length skirts so I can sit or walk out in the wet without concern.

More pockets and pockets that are actually functional. I have a few items with 'pockets' that are barely folds in the material. I've seen online discussions on leggings with pockets which has me interested, but I'd like to see them in a shop rather than order online to see if those pockets are useable.

BikeRunSki · 19/01/2019 20:29

Swimsuits for the long of body AND big boobed. It’s always one or the other.

This!!! Also cycling gear, where XL is a 14 at best!

Redcherries · 19/01/2019 20:35

Op, not sure if anyone else has commented on the tights as not rtft. I’m a 10/12 my daughter is an 8/10. We buy extra large tights, they don’t fall down, fit at the crutch and don’t cut us in two. I don’t get tights sizing but going up a few sizes helps.

BikeRunSki · 19/01/2019 20:51

For tights, look at Snag Tights and Heist.

KatharinaRosalie · 19/01/2019 21:01

How about a shirt that is actually cut taking into account that women often have boobs?

Ellieboolou27 · 19/01/2019 21:03

Apple shaped clothes - I’ve a wide waist, flat bum and no thighs, size 16 waist, size 10-12 leg means it’s impossible for me to wear trousers without looking like Mr Tumble.
Proper wide fit shoes I must have Fred flintstone feet as never find shoes that fit!

kateandme · 19/01/2019 21:25

extremely ill(eating disorder)health risk friend went to shop and bought some legging.she had to buy size 12-14.NOTHING WONG WITH THIS SIZE lots of us are this. but for her for fuk sake she is at risk to her health,is being told by docs they are worried sick.and then goes and gets into this size.it has made her more confused than ever and even less trusting of what she is being told she looks like.
sizing. please shops get your act in gear and be consistant!

TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain · 19/01/2019 21:36

"Petite" clothing ranges that don't assume that because you're short, you're a) skinny with a tiny waist b) over 60 or c) fond of super-feminine styling.

Endless pink and turquoise for sportswear. The 80s were years ago now.

Shoes that don't come far enough up the foot and slip off. I have really short toes and cannot wear 99% of nice slip-on shoes. As I can't walk in heels, my choice is really limited in situations where decent footwear is required. Either have proper toe coverage or provide a proper fastening over the instep. Something like Repetto's "Belinda" shoe that doesn't cost £300 and is still available.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 19/01/2019 21:47

Yes to coats, sportswear, trainers, hiking gear that has no fecking pink on it. I want the men's colours but without having to buy the men's kit, as the sleeves are too long etc.

Nothisispatrick · 19/01/2019 22:01

Basic white tops and t shirts that aren’t completely see through
