Inspired by another thread on here, AIBU to have a wish list if clothes I wish existed?

I want...
Tights that don't fall down/ cut me in half/ ladder / go wobbly.
Jeans with proper pockets, enough to fit a mobile phone without it peeking over the top.
Comfortable bras that don't cost a fortune.
Pants that match the above bras that aren't made of polyester.

What else would you add?

Primark no good if you’re below a 32 band or above an E or F cup Pippa.

IntentsAndPorpoises · 20/01/2019 21:27

Snag tights are amazing, they genuinely do not fall down! Revelation.

Yes, yes yes to tops and dresses for us chunkier ones with small boobs. I'm a size 16, but cannot fill the top part of most dresses.

BarbaraofSevillle · 20/01/2019 21:29

So it seems that almost no shops sell bras for most women?

Lower band size commonly available seems to be 32, yet anyone a size 10 or below is going to be a 26/28/30 band, so where do these women buy their bras?

Seeing as the cup sizes on the smaller bands, if they are available don't seem to go past a D or so, but seeing as even F cups on small back sizes aren't particularly big, again, almost no correctly sized bras available.

There was a thread a few days ago about almost no toasters accepting commercially available bread, and it would seem that the same applies to bras too. So to bra manufacturers (and toasters) open your eyes, look at the women who exist, and make some bras to fit them, it's not hard.

Apileofballyhoo · 20/01/2019 21:31

Ethical stuff that lasts. With a guarantee.

DaisyStarburst · 20/01/2019 21:44

Another recommendation for Snag tights they have made me want to wear skirts and dresses - dresses with long sleeves!
Cotton underwear, knickers and bras in large sizes.
Long length swimsuits
Nice to the touch, soft, natural tops, haven't bought any for a long time because I hate the material everything is made from.
Pockets.

StartedEarly · 20/01/2019 21:54

Just had a look at Snag tights, potentially good. What are the tops like?
I'm 5'8", weigh 9 stone 10 lb and size 14 bottom half. I usually buy large tights for the length but the elastic waist cut me in half.

DaisyStarburst · 20/01/2019 22:03

Snag tights, tops don't roll down, go by the size chart, don't size up just in case, if you're between sizes go for the smaller one. I've got the thin ones and the thick ones, both worn and washed a few times, in a laundry bag and still perfect. Even my rough heels haven't snagged them!

pinnerpearl · 20/01/2019 22:48

Coats and jackets with an inside pocket, like the men have.
So useful for train tickets, a bit of cash etc

evilharpy · 20/01/2019 23:16

Longer tops and dresses with lower waists. I don't have a particularly long torso but still find that tops don't stay tucked in and waists of dresses sit about an inch and a half too high.

Slim trousers with more generously cut legs for those of us with big calves.

I'm a 10-12 (more towards a 10 than a 12). Things like pyjamas that come in an 8-10 are usually too small but 12-14 is massive. I need a 10-12. Please make things in a 10-12.

OrigamiZoo · 20/01/2019 23:40

Nightwear with cool sweat wicking technology for those of us suffering with Night Sweats. M&S used to do them, but stopped, why, why, why, WTAF!

Coats with inside pockets.

delboysskinandblister · 21/01/2019 00:32

sleeves a long enough length
swimsuits a decent length and I do mean decent
shoes low heeled in a good variety for 7.5 wide fit
coats that give you room and sleeves to drive in
all shoes and boots must have full leather lining and none of that plastic tat

a range of dresses suits that doesn't matter if your size 12 or size 28 that accomodate the ever expanding boobage. Honestly, you try getting a coat to do up. Wink

halfwitpicker · 21/01/2019 00:44

T-shirts in thick cotton, with the arm length 2 inches above the elbow : NOT batwing. I have never seen anyone, even a model, look good in batwing sleeves.

More low heeled shoes - 1 inch please. And with a thicker heel - not stiletto. I don't want a chunky heel, like the end of a matchbox please.

I'll RTFT then come back with more.

More clothes made of thicker fabric.

Dresses with sleeves in - see above t-shirt Comment, same design please.

More scoop neck tops please. With sleeves.

Shirts that do not need to be sewn up /worn with a vest underneath. Gaping looks so unfinished.

halfwitpicker · 21/01/2019 00:57

He ticked the boxes on 3 pairs until I realised THEY WERE FAKE DRAWSTRINGS!

I've never seen menswear with fake drawstrings, the wankers

^

Utterly agree. What's is the point of fake drawstrings?!
Totally agree about boob room though. How come the cheapest men's shirts come in collar sizes but we have to make do with S M L???
^

This ever occurred to me either. So true.

Also, I want more jewel colours please. Emerald, cobalt, cerise, nice bright clear colors. Coats, tops, sweaters. In good quality fabric. Please.

halfwitpicker · 21/01/2019 01:01

What is it that people keep in their pockets? Keys, phone, cash when needed.

Access card at work?

JustOneShadeOfGrey · 21/01/2019 01:46

Here’s my top tip for larger taller ladies who wear tights - wear a pair of support knickers in the same colour (or as close as) over them. I actually wore a knee length dress today (jeans are all in the washing pile) and didn’t have to hoick the tights up once.

I want all shops with tall ranges online to sell them in the shops. Nobody does this!

I want boots in size 9 wide (eee) that fit my calves - standard is too tight and the wide ones are just silly wide.

I also want ultra wide 5xE or more in size 4 for my little sister who is only in her 40s but with arthritis that makes shoes and boots impossible to buy. Unless she’s happy to settle for these ... Hmm

Blouses/shirts for work which are silky, smooth, flatteting and dont crackle when I move. Happy to pay up to £120. I tried a black M&S tencel silky shirt on the other day and it had such a massive electrical charge that it clung to me and crackled as I moved. When I took it off over my head my hair was standing on end! WHY?

  • Smooth bras that dont contain foam
  • V-bras that dont allow my breasts to fall out when I bend over
-bras that dont give me back fat Knickers without seams Knickers that stretch up instead of sideways
  • high rises in trousers & jeans
  • coats & jackets with wide enough shoulders
  • all leather shoes, not an inner ‘sock’ lining of cheap sweaty plastic.
  • v-necks please for those of us with norks & shoulders. So tired of seeing polo/high/turtle/roll/round necked stuff!
  • blue clothes & accessories
Last year, ultraviolet was meant to be the colour of the year. I couldnt find anything in this colour in the shops. Everything was tan.
ForOldLandsEye · 21/01/2019 02:31

Oh god yes ...
A size 10-12 please.
8-10 is too small and 12-14 is too big.
Pockets!

And Proper sized pockets at that!

IntentsAndPorpoises · 21/01/2019 06:48

I size up with Snag, as was in between sizes with no problem.

SayNoToCarrots · 21/01/2019 06:57

I thought everyone else liked the lycra knickers and I was just a weirdo! I'm still hanging on to some from about ten years ago because I can't find any 100ï¼… cotton that aren't granny pants any more.

mathanxiety · 21/01/2019 07:05

Bras that don't stab me in the armpit or cost a fortune.
Coats and jackets with an inside breast pocket (or two) that are nice and big.
YYY to low heeled shoes (no higher than 2 inches) with square or rounded toes, not pointy.

Lalalalalalaland · 21/01/2019 07:10

Yes to tops that are actually long enough to sit mid bum!!!

Recently needed a gym top and in the end i had to buy a mens one to get the right body length.

I have to buy mens hoodies too. Im only 5ft 8 so not giant! If im buying a hoody its to keep me warm so why would i want it to sit above my hips!

Fresta · 21/01/2019 07:33

These girls knickers are 100% cotton!

I want boots in size 9 wide (eee) that fit my calves - standard is too tight and the wide ones are just silly wide.

You'd like Duo Boots- they sell online. They make calf fitting boots so you measure your calf width and order accordingly. Skinny legs or larger legs can all get what they need here.

rugbychick1 · 21/01/2019 07:56

Girls trousers/leggings that are longer in the body so fit properly over tummy's and I don't have to keep pulling them up for dd. Same with girls tights

AndromedaPerseus · 21/01/2019 09:08

Started and Hickery I’ve seen those bras in Asda and Peacocks but they are nowhere as good as the non wired Bras you get in Asia. Their non wired bras are constructed exactly like wired bras you can get in UK but they use a soft but incredibly comfortable support material for the cups and in place of the metal wires. The cups also don’t crumple with use as I’ve found in unwired bras I’ve bought in the U.K.
