But for every reason! We all have a song that just gets to you, mine is Joni Mitchell's 'Both sides now' m.youtube.com/watch?v=aCnf46boC3I
So bitter sweet, reminds me of really sad times and really, really happy times too. What are your bitter sweet songs?

Yes to some of the old Barry Manilows. Trying to get the feeling, Weekend in New England, Even Now. He stopped by our local pub for fish and chips a few years ago en route to a tour venue and I told him that the most emotional and traumatic (and forbidden) relationship I ever had was played out to a backdrop of these songs. 😂

Pinkclarko · 20/01/2019 19:56

Witcheta Lineman is one of my fave songs ever. It's perfect in every way

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 20/01/2019 20:02

Queen - days of our lives

I can't ever listen to it without becoming a sobbing mess

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 20/01/2019 20:06

Also sunscreen by Baz Luhrmann

I remember first listening to it as a naive single 19 year old. I can't listen now without getting the absolute feels

AlexaAmbidextra · 20/01/2019 21:31

I love Days of Our Lives. I had it at my Dad’s funeral last year. It makes me cry whenever I hear it.

TheToldYouSoDance · 20/01/2019 21:35

When you were sweet 16 by the Fureys. Reminds me of my mum.

Bluestitch · 20/01/2019 21:42

When you were sweet 16 by the Fureys.

Yes! I said their version of The Green Fields Of France earlier in the thread but this is the other one that gets me. So beautiful.

The Great Gig In The Sky by Pink Floyd. And I don't even like Pink Floyd. But that song (if you can call it a song) - I'm a wreck.

MarthasGinYard · 20/01/2019 23:53

And Mccarthur Park

thenightsky · 20/01/2019 23:56

God yes... I'd forgotten the Great Gig in the Sky.

RebeccaWrongDaily · 21/01/2019 00:03

Rule the World- Take That.

Gary Barlow had to perform it at the Olympics ceremony, literally days after his daughter was still born. I can't even write this, hear it or think about it without thinking of him. I am not even a Gary Barlow fan, the words though.

SassitudeandSparkle · 21/01/2019 00:26

Bruno Mars - When I was your man

stillreadviz · 21/01/2019 00:42

open up your door by richard hawley...absolutely destroys me, in a good way!

acatcalledjohn · 21/01/2019 01:22

@SpawnChorus Yes!

That reminds me: The Rainbow Connection

MissLanesAmericanCousin · 21/01/2019 02:57

acatcalledjohn The Rainbow Connection makes me cry too! Especially, the part about the sailors hearing the call of the sea. It has special meaning for me as it reminds me both of my late father and now husband.

Kissmyaxe · 21/01/2019 03:16

Waltzing Matilda - Rod Stewart. Played at my Dad’s funeral.

Secret Smile - Semisonic. Takes me right back to one of the worst times.

MarthasGinYard · 21/01/2019 08:07

Over the rainbow

I just keep remembering more and more.

I must cry ALOT
