As we approach the end of the year, what has been your MN highlights? The threads that have made you laugh, cry, or that you remember for some other reason.

I remember a post about being unhappy paying for a meal in a hotel because a mix up with a starter. Another post about PIL asking for money for broken wine glass.

OP posts:

The Sistine Cjapel was a rip off of an Alexander McCall Smith book

wannabebetter · 31/12/2018 09:24

Silkei I can't find the original one (I think may have been 30 day only or something...) the follow up one has link provided by Chatty above. David you're welcome - that thread near enough took over my life and agree TP songs ridiculous ear worms!!

wannabebetter · 31/12/2018 09:33

My personal faves were Tomasz (wines and dines) and driving Manuel - I have them bookmarked for when I need a laugh!

MyMuffinsStuck · 31/12/2018 09:42

KC225 you made my entire day with that comment that morning and it wasn't even 7am!!

user1474894224 · 31/12/2018 09:55

I spent hours last night reading the 'bringing a toddler on hen do' and raven threads. Best giggles in ages....I nearly clicked on another link but need to get stuff done. Thanks mum's netters.. (p.s. off to Argos with DS in a bit..... would it be wrong to search raven....)

BearSoFair · 31/12/2018 14:41

Both already mentioned but snapped and farted and the shitting man threads were highlights for me too

I never would have imagined that so many schools thought it would be a good idea to visit an abbatoir.

I wonder if the kids got any freebies? A hoof, perhaps? A bag of pigs' ears?

QueenofmyPrinces · 31/12/2018 21:02

The thread about baby Hugo was brilliant!! I read it last night after seeing it talked about in here and I had tears in my eyes from laughing so much!!!

youwillbepk · 31/12/2018 21:39

The dolphin thread were they are evil and rapist was very funny 😄

EssentialHummus · 31/12/2018 21:54

I think it was early this year - that thread where OP found a note in her hedge with a coin in, and 25 pages of posters weighed in with “It’s sanskrit!”, “It’s Hebrew!”, “That coin represents payment for entry into the Greek underworld!”

I don’t think it was ever resolved.

Totopoly · 31/12/2018 23:04

There was the one with the OP stuck on the worktop, hoping her DH would come home from work to get some medicine out of the cupboard. She then went off and was somehow fast-tracked by the GP to A&E (as you are). Her mum came into it as well, but can't remember how. Grin

ChampooPapi · 31/12/2018 23:21

The villagers one, oh my god that one really will stay with me. I wish we had a follow up!

MissionItsPossible · 31/12/2018 23:31

Does anyone have the link to this one or was it deleted? It was so fake and OTT but funny from what I remember.

Totopoly · 31/12/2018 23:33

Mission, sorry not to provide a link. It just stuck in my mind. Along with dear old 'snapped and farted' (my favourite thread of all time ever, not just of 2018 - and I've been on MN under various names for well over 10 years...)

amusedbush · 31/12/2018 23:46

Snapped and farted, screaming in the Sistine Chapel, flexitime cf and the Gregg Wallace threads are my favourites.

I had to keep putting my phone down when reading the Gregg one because I was shaking and laughing like Muttley, which was annoying DH Blush

DappledThings · 31/12/2018 23:47

The one where she was angry at a hotel for bringing her husband's starter at the same time as the rest of the dinner. After everyone apparently had 2 rounds of water before eating.

Carbsnomarbs · 31/12/2018 23:55

Lots already mentioned here but I have loved the AMA threads this year
Some informative and some very eye opening

BifsWif · 01/01/2019 00:20

Ooh can I have a link to tony the hairdresser please?

Papergirl1968 · 01/01/2019 00:27

Tony the hairdresser has been deleted, unfortunately!

The one where the OP was incandescent with rage about the good rep dolphins have when really they are ruthless sociopaths.

... Yes! I remember reading the dolphin one out to DD and p*ing myself laughing. Thought it must be a wind up, but so funny

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 01/01/2019 00:40

Also liked the one about how Hermione must’ve regretted marrying Ron Weasley in the 7th Harry Potter

QueenofmyPrinces · 01/01/2019 07:53

Has anyone got a link to the Snapped and Farted thread?
