As we approach the end of the year, what has been your MN highlights? The threads that have made you laugh, cry, or that you remember for some other reason.

I remember a post about being unhappy paying for a meal in a hotel because a mix up with a starter. Another post about PIL asking for money for broken wine glass.

OP posts:
SantaBabycharly · 30/12/2018 21:13

Kyle the Safecracker

wannabebetter · 30/12/2018 21:14

CG not CH (obviously!)

wannabebetter · 30/12/2018 21:14

....and thread, not tread (fucking phone!!)

minkies11 · 30/12/2018 21:18

The fossilised tampon thread. So funny.

PawneeParksDept · 30/12/2018 21:31

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED "Situation With My Colleague" which I think was still last 12 months. Lovely woman unsure whether coworker reciprocated (he did 😄)

Can't believe the dolphin thread hasn't got a mention

Forgot about the woman who couldn't understand why her SIL was so upset when SIL was hosting and refused to allow her to bring a recent boyfriend and his two teenagers to a family gathering

OP decided SIL was highly unreasonable and arrived at the garden gate with the randomers just in time to burst in on the engagement announcement. SIL cried and according to the OP the SIL was entirely at fault and a drama queen

Banana8080 · 30/12/2018 21:35

Women who blocked in parents using her drive for school pick up, blocked them in over night, sublime!!

Just read snapped and farted, in tears of laughter!

theWarOnPeace · 30/12/2018 21:49

The Sistine screecher was the best of the best. I was caught between hyena hyperventilating, and just being totally bewildered as to why the OP thought it was ok. That’s what you need from a good thread, a balance of madness and hilarity. The Mick Hucknall one I saw the thread and went off to group WhatsApp I’m on that includes 2 people who have shagged Mick Hucknall. We were all in tears reading the comments at the same time as we’ve always mercilessly teased them both over it. They found their people. Btw both at totally different dates/times and both on each woman’s first and last trip to Manchester. He must just lie in wait at the train station or something.

mindutopia · 30/12/2018 21:52

Have not RTFT but the one where op’s neighbours were having sex in her hedge.

londonmummy1966 · 30/12/2018 22:01

Sistine Chapel wins it for me but I did enjoy sex in the hedge. Best parking thread was the nanny who blocked the NDN's drive because her boss didn't want her to park on her own (empty drive).

AloneLonelyLoner · 30/12/2018 22:04

@theWarOnPeace my aint shagged Mick Hucknell too. He’s quite a goer isn’t he? Dirty bastard. 😆

AloneLonelyLoner · 30/12/2018 22:04

Aunt. Damn.

Butteredghost · 30/12/2018 22:09

Screaming tourist and badger with rice are my faves. I thought badger one was obviously fake, then OP posted the text with pic of the badger Confused Could it be real? Shock

Most underrated thread was when OP was panicking that her xmas turkey was covered in blood and was asking if it was still good. She posted a pic and it wasn't blood it was just in a red plastic bag. I couldn't stop laughing, it's exactly the sort of thing that I would do Grin

Brook1yn · 30/12/2018 22:09

I loved the sex in hedge and sistine Chapel wailer threads.

Can someone please link the one where the OP fancied the builder?

heiheithechicken · 30/12/2018 22:11

Snapped and farted!!

The shitting dad thread where OP put the out of order sign on the door.

Coats - amazing lady! (Although never knew the outcome!)

OP who got pregnant and hid from everyone but all went well and had a baby girl - love a happy ending.

pjllama · 30/12/2018 22:12

People keep having sex in my hedge... www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/3288349-people-keep-having-sex-in-my-hedge

I'm still laughing!

lastqueenofscotland · 30/12/2018 22:12

Snapped and farted. I’ve just started laughing thinking about it Grin

footballfever4 · 30/12/2018 22:13

Sistine and badger were both trolls as was that window /door gate story. Can't people see the similarities in how these threads are written?

heiheithechicken · 30/12/2018 22:14

The one with ops cf neighbours kids thinking they had access to theiir back garden and using climbing frame.

Or was that last year...Confused

footballfever4 · 30/12/2018 22:16

And so was Softzilla

Drogosnextwife · 30/12/2018 22:16

The savernake thread, but then I'm not sure if that was this year but 2 threads I have been on this year have referenced it, it gives me the heebies all the time 😂.
The second was a thread where A "guy" was looking for love or something, I can't even remember what he called himself but he was typing as though he spoke a different language. That was a thread had me nearly wetting myself. I love MN sometimes!

Drogosnextwife · 30/12/2018 22:20

Oh and the parking thread where cf had parked in the ops driveway to pick their kids up from school. she blocked them in over night and the idiots let down her tyres during the night, then came to her door the next day to get her to move her car, but didn't consider that might be difficult with her having flat tyres, they then had to fix them. That was great. The neighbour was in on it and everything.

QueenofmyPrinces · 30/12/2018 22:37

Best parking thread was the nanny who blocked the NDN's drive because her boss didn't want her to park on her own (empty drive).

Oh yes, I remember that one!! Didn’t the neighbours hire a new nanny in the end because the original nanny resigned because of the parking issues? It was a very bizarre arrangement!

I really want to read the one about the builder!!

I hadn’t been aware of the Michaelangelo Screamer until this thread so I went to read it and thought it was hilarious!!!

Even if some of these threads were made up they were genius!!!

Snowydaysaregreat · 30/12/2018 22:38

The one with the woman stuck on a worktop trying to reach medication because her dp wouldn't come home to do it.

CrimpBrunette · 30/12/2018 22:45

I've got Legally Blonde on at the moment which made me reminisce on "snapped and farted" GrinGrin

CrimpBrunette · 30/12/2018 22:46

Wrt "situation with my colleague" - did Mortal ever return? She was completely lovely. Referred to her colleague as "Rumpled" if I remember correctly?
