As we approach the end of the year, what has been your MN highlights? The threads that have made you laugh, cry, or that you remember for some other reason.

I remember a post about being unhappy paying for a meal in a hotel because a mix up with a starter. Another post about PIL asking for money for broken wine glass.

OP posts:

The man who thought he'd been dealt with insensitively in hospital just because he was a man. Would a woman be treated like this? Cue onslaught. Absolutely hilarious.

IsItCoffeeTimeYet · 01/01/2019 08:17

Just read the entirety of the secret pregnancy one, wow! Truly the highlight of MN!
(Thanks heiheithechicken for the link)

ChristmasFan2018 · 01/01/2019 08:18

I've only just read the Raven thread 😂

BifsWif · 01/01/2019 08:52

Working my way through those that I haven’t read - the Hugo one had me in tears!

Dolphin bastards and screaming at Michelangelo we’re my favourites.

The funniest typo I read was on a thread that I can’t remember now, but ‘maltesers’ was autocorrected to ‘Maltese refugee’. I laughed about that for weeks.

Disfordarkchocolate · 01/01/2019 09:42

Just read the secret baby thread. Definitely one of my favourites, such a lovely outcome and such wonderful support from everyone on the thread.

wizzler · 01/01/2019 10:54

Was Flexzilla this year ?
Also, I loved the parking thread where the NDN became an ally . There was an update thread from the OP on here this week

Petalflowers · 01/01/2019 10:58

Not sure if it’s been mentioned (haven’t read whole thread), but my favourite one was the fence post, quite early on in the year.

The OP was erecting a new fence. She was astounded when next door neighbour reminded her that the good side of the fence had to be facing her, the neighbour, not the OP.

Cue pages and pages of posts saying that it was good etiquette tomdo this, and even a legal requisition, even though it was established fairly early on that there was no law dictating who has the good side of the fence. A lot of people didn’t realise there was a good and bad side to a fence.

It was one of those threads that went on for pages, even though it was established fairly early on the correct situation.

Averyimportantperson · 01/01/2019 12:05

What was the flexitime cf one. I don't remember that one.

redexpat · 01/01/2019 12:24

I JUST thought about flexitime cheeky fucker.

LittleBot178 · 01/01/2019 12:31

The one where the OP accidentally typed that she’d urinated on her colleagues chair Grin

AloneLonelyLoner · 01/01/2019 12:47

Oh yes! Flexitime CF. What happened to her?

cushioncuddle · 01/01/2019 13:30

The one when neighbours used OPs garden as a park and their kids got locked in when OPs son locked the gate not realising they were in there.

pippop1317 · 01/01/2019 13:52

Does anyone have the link to the part 2 of the anonymous letter from the villagers! I've just read the entire 1k thread and I NEED to know how it ends!

ChristmasFan2018 · 01/01/2019 13:55

Great thread!

ChristmasFan2018 · 01/01/2019 13:57

Secret baby thread is heartwarming. I hadn't read it until reading the link up thread. Surely should be in Classics!

Anybody have any updates or working links please

Cakemonger · 01/01/2019 19:33

The one where the op installed a whole new bathroom in her rented property without asking the landlord was Shock. People were very nice to her and explained this wasn't the done thing

TheRhythmlessMan · 01/01/2019 19:44

... inspired my username Grin

CodLiverOil556 · 01/01/2019 20:23

Didn't know the crematorium one lead to the AMA topic...

thewinehasgonetomyhead · 03/01/2019 18:01

I’d also love to read the parking thread if anyone had a link.

Drinking the mooncup water stands out to me too!

ThePollutedShadesOfPemberley · 04/01/2019 20:24

EyeDrops · 05/01/2019 15:46

My personal faves were Tomasz (wines and dines) and driving Manuel - I have them bookmarked for when I need a laugh!

Thank yoooou I'd forgotten about learning to drive Manuel 😂😂
All the "I learn it from a book" and "I know noooothing" comments slayed me!
