Christmas Trees in November

What is this fresh hell?

People putting their trees up in November WTAF? Its another week until bloody December?!

I hate the bloody commercialism the bloody colour themes people moaning about putting one up and having another two to go (in their own home so entirely optional).

Why does this have to be another “thing”.

Bah humbug I say.

I’m with you!

WereAllBladesArentWe · 25/11/2018 20:20

Agreed. Wrestling with my feelings a bit as a v close friend has done it and her two kids are clearly so excited... but... it wouldn't be for us. Too many birthdays to get past first!

MrsDylanBlue · 25/11/2018 20:21

To start with - I have two kittens.

I haven’t decided whether I am even putting one up this year Grin

Oh I love it!!!

KitKat1985 · 25/11/2018 20:23

I love Christmas. BUT, November is too early to be putting trees and decorations up. The kids will be bored of it by the time Christmas comes around.

ThePinkOcelot · 25/11/2018 20:25

It’s far too early to be putting them up. Ridiculous! Then they get so sick and down they come on Boxing Day.

MamaHechtick · 25/11/2018 20:26

I love Christmas. I love looking at the decorations. But Christmas trees in a November are not for me.
Second weekend in December is for the trees in our house.

I feel a bit like the only one though as most of the people I know have their decorations and trees up already, and also the outside of the houses are done up too!

MistyMinge · 25/11/2018 20:27

I was just talking about this with DH after seeing on fb that some people have put trees up. Crazy. I enjoy Christmas but I'd be itching to take the tree down by mid December. I sound like my mum, but it has got totally over the top nowadays.

MrsDylanBlue · 25/11/2018 20:27

Literally about 6 of my FB friends (I know I know) have posted theirs this weekend.

One because she’s going to the Caribbean for two weeks so won’t have time when she gets back. Thanks for that Hmm

MrsDylanBlue

You have to put it up just for the kittens. They'll love it! My parents adult cat still climbs into their tree even though she's now too big. She loves it though.

My tree is up and I'm not ashamed of it. I love it.

It seems far earlier this year except the odd person it was never till December .

I bought an artificial tree today . It is in the. Box and carried straight upstairs. I only bought it this weekend as it was1/3 rd off

MrsDylanBlue · 25/11/2018 20:32

MrsDylanBlue · 25/11/2018 20:35

Jezzifishie · 25/11/2018 20:36

I put mine up today. It was my church's Christmas fete yesterday, so me and DD were feeling Christmassy [santa]

LagunaBubbles · 25/11/2018 20:36

It will never cease to amaze me why some people get so bothered how others decorate their homes.

MrsDylanBlue · 25/11/2018 20:37

Oops sorry clearly missed the “lighthearted” title inclusion.

I've had to sit on my hands to stop myself from posting on Facebook - what the actual heck is going on! Some around here went up the first week of November.

Mine goes up about a week before Christmas and comes down 12th night. Even that I consider to be early as growing up we always used to put it up on Christmas Eve and then go to Midnight mass.

LagunaBubbles · 25/11/2018 20:37

Ours had been up since last And no we don't get fed up with it at any point either.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 25/11/2018 20:37

It bugs the hell out of me. Irrationally so.

It's NOVEMBER. FFS.

nottakingthisanymore · 25/11/2018 20:37

For some people this time of year with the long dark nights is utterly miserable. Perhaps putting their tree up makes them happier. It’s not what I’d do and I LOVE Christmas but if it makes someone happy then why not. Doesn’t affect me at all.

frasersmummy · 25/11/2018 20:39

My favourite phrase at the moment is..there are 12 days of Christmas and none of.them are in sodding November

bobstersmum · 25/11/2018 20:40

It's too early for me but I don't mind others doing it if it cheers them up, why not?

AuntieStella · 25/11/2018 20:40

I think before Advent Sunday (which can be in November) is premature. But of course what people do behind the doors of their home is their private business and they could be dancing naked round conifers every day of the year for all I know.

What I really deplore is public display before Remembrance Day

MrsDylanBlue · 25/11/2018 20:42

I have an irrational dislike of people putting poppies and “we will remember them” around their profile pictures (esp in bikinis etc). It just seems so disrespectful.

I know I need to get off FB Grin
