To think my partner is having an affair because of strange delivery?

Mumshotel · 14/11/2018 19:50

My partner has been working away a lot in the last 3 months. Like almost constantly away Mon to Fri. That's fine.

Today a parcel came, I get a lot from e bay and it looked like an e bay parcel... hand written address, post office packaging etc.

I opened it as i was expecting some tops I had bought from e bay. I opened it and it was my partners shirt. Washed, ironed and folded. No note but by the address it said from honey???? In pen.

I asked him why his shirt has been delivered and he said he has bought another from e bay???? Why would you. It's not even one of his nice ones.
Am I being a big mad paranoid loser?

I'd find this really bizarre, so no I don't think you're being paranoid.

taxxigirl · 14/11/2018 19:51

I think unless it's possible it's been washed and returned by a weirdly named hotel then that's dodgy, yeah. Sorry.

Letsgetreadytorumba · 14/11/2018 19:51

He’s having an affair.

Mumshotel · 14/11/2018 19:53

Omg.

SparklyMagpie · 14/11/2018 19:53

No decent explanation really is there?

covetingthepreciousthings · 14/11/2018 19:53

Can you check completed listings on eBay for that shirt - if you search? Or can you search your DHs eBay name to see what he's bought?

(I don't use eBay.. so no idea if these are things you can search)

Linziepie · 14/11/2018 19:53

ask to see his order history in eBay. It wont be there.

SparklyMagpie · 14/11/2018 19:53

If he'd bought another off eBay wouldn't it have an invoice in the parcel?

newplacenofriends · 14/11/2018 19:53

if it is another shirt identical to one he owns ask him to produce the original. I'm really sorry OP but sounds like he is having an affair.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 14/11/2018 19:54

Definitely look at order history. Sounds very dodgy to me.

Mumshotel · 14/11/2018 19:55

He has his own e bay account. Can you search

Weebitawks · 14/11/2018 19:55

Oh bloody hell, I think it’s amazing someone, based on one bit of information, can spout off in such a blaze way “he’s having an affair”.

Ffs. It’s possible but obviously you need to look into it more. Firstly, can you see both the shirts together? And secondly, if he was having an affair, why didn’t he wear one of his nice shirts? 😉

Stormwhale · 14/11/2018 19:55

Good thinking by linziepie. It doesn't look good op.

JellycatElfie · 14/11/2018 19:55

Can you check his eBay account for purchase history? PayPal or emails? If he’s lied it’ll be pretty easy to prove it!

naicepineapple · 14/11/2018 19:56

Sounds dodgy to me, sorry op Thanks

Ask to see both shirts, ask to see invoice, order history or confirmation etc

Weebitawks · 14/11/2018 19:56

Might be worth checking for an eBay seller, selling shirts, called “Honey”

SoyDora · 14/11/2018 19:56

Sounds like an affair to me.

GlassSuppers · 14/11/2018 19:57

Smell it. Does it smell new or of washing powder/him?

New clothes have that new smell.

Mumshotel · 14/11/2018 19:57

Ergh I'm going to look on e bay. He's got hundred of shirts. I picked him one up in the sale not long ago and he said I shouldn't have because he has so many. Clearly doesn't need a new shirt Identical erggghhhhhhh I'm raging. I need to get the.kids to bed

Mumshotel · 14/11/2018 19:58

I smelt it. It smells of washing powder but e bay stuff often does

Notcontent · 14/11/2018 19:58

OP - has he ever bought second hand clothes for himself from eBay? I mean, does this seem odd or plausible?

Hezz · 14/11/2018 19:58

Bizarre that is.

Tetrapanex · 14/11/2018 19:58

I was convinced it was being returned by a hotel until I read his explanation. You need to ask him to show you proof of his eBay purchase. It could be totally innocent.

Or it could be a scorned OW trying to get him found out. You won’t know until you see his eBay purchase history and it will play on your mind.

Mumshotel · 14/11/2018 19:58

Weebitawks I will thabk you

OP posts:
badirene · 14/11/2018 19:59

Being optimistic (or hopelessly naive) is it possible that he left a shirt in the hotel by accident, they laundered it and sent it back to him.

Sorry trying to see an innocent side to this. Best of luck OP.
