Takes you back to a moment?

Mine is Barcelona by Freddie Mercury and Monsterrat Caballe

I was 6 when the Barcelona Olympics were on and I remember being stunned at how powerful this song was even at age 6. It made me stand and watch. When I hear it I still get goosebumps and can remember the moment I heard it.

Take me to church. Makes me laterally go ice cold.

Fast car.

If tomorrow never comes.
Tears in heaven
Together again
I'll be missing you
(All have me literally shaking with sobs)

My grandfather's Clock. As it displays the bond people often have with inanimate objects. Also its not terribly uncommon for things to stop working when a person dies. If I'm not mistaken the clock in Derek Bentley's mantle piece stopped working the minute he was hanged.

Through the wire. I don't know why but I've always had a very close connection with this sing.

All that glitters aint gold.

Shine (Years and Years)

Chandelier by Sia gives me goosebumps, to the point that I don't actually need to hear it - just reading the lyrics has the same effect!

Bit of an odd one for me but my mum loved and it was played at her funeral. Dolly Parton, When Jesus Comes calling for me.

When I die don't grieve and cry
Lordy, don't feel sorry for me
Oh what a day, what a mighty fine day
When Jesus comes calling for me
When He comes calling for me

A song called Special Needs, by Placebo. Holds some wonderful (and heartbreaking) memories. Also Pictures of You by The Cure. Same reasons (same bloke).

Teatimeted · 01/11/2018 19:30

God I haven't listened to Antony and the Johnsons for years!

We never went to church by The Streets, when he says ' you left me behind to remind me of you'

Meatloaf - Objects in the rear view mirror, when he talks about his dad 'he was dangerous and drunk and defeated and eroded by failure and envy and hate'. Takes me back to my childhood with alcoholic stepdad

The miracle of love - The Eurythmics

Hurt - Johnny cash

waxy1 · 01/11/2018 19:31

Please Stay:

The Cryin’ Shames.

RoboticSealpup · 01/11/2018 19:34

I also love Dinner at Eight with Rufus Wainwright.

Why is it so
That I've always been the one who must go
That I've always been the one told to flee
When it fact you were the one long ago
Actually in the drifting white snow
You left me

😢

pippa999 · 01/11/2018 19:35

Gravity - Sara Bareilles

Beautiful song, beautiful lyrics.

Also love Bridge Over Trouble Water by Simon and Garfunkel

And

Coat of Many Colours by Dolly Parton. And as @Lwmommy said, When Jesus comes calling for me is lovely too.

Also Pal of my cradle days by Ann Breen. Very touching and sweet. Also Mama by the Spice Girls; surprisingly touching and sweet...
