To strip the bed straight after sex?

What do you do? Was late last night, enjoying some fun in bed, but then the practical side of me took over. I was so conscious of the huge wet patch and then starting thinking about all the washing that needed doing without the thought of the bed sheets the fun had passed for me.
Usually we'd put a towel over the patch but it was sopping, so I stripped the sheet off. Is that really bad? Does it ruin the moment?
What do you do to avoid this situation?

I have never, ever understood why people say they have a wet patch. It's never happened to me and I don't know where it comes from? 🙈

You don't know where it comes from? How can this be? I'm so confused right now.

MrsNacho · 28/10/2018 21:10

I keep the divan drawers for towels so just get dp to reach over whilst still plugged in and sleep with a towel between my legs.

JuneMyNameIsJune · 28/10/2018 21:14

Zoflora in the penis beaker?

Strap on incontinence pants?

Stillwishihadabs · 28/10/2018 21:18

Knickers just wouldn't cut it here. We have (usually) a wet patch, then I soak .y pyjamas bottoms and often some the next day.too. Pregnant 2nd month when trying and once.when not.

Deadringer · 28/10/2018 21:21

We have sex in the middle of the bed so neither of us have to sleep on the wet patch. No way would I get out of bed and change the sheets, if it was really wet a towel would do the job.

Silvercatowner · 28/10/2018 21:22

I think I'm getting old.

Theresahairbrushinthefridge · 28/10/2018 21:23

Just have to add - having perfected the ninja knee walk and made it to the loo without incident or so I thought - the cat came to say hello, wrapped herself round my ankle. Cue. "OMG there's cum on the cat". We are still
Laughing 16 years later. Never shared that one - until now.

Could never put that on the pet board!!!

Men ejaculate different amounts. And women create different amounts too.

So some people might have a lot, and thus need to go to the toilet, or might create a big wet patch.

Others not so.

There is no norm. The only recommendation is that if you are producing less than a third of a teaspoon, consult GP.

But really that's not a big amount.

Errr, I know this is a silly comparison, but, Imagine if you gave 1/3rd of a teaspoon of calpol to your ill child. It's nothing. A small amount.

Can't believe people are that bothered about it.

Takeyourfaceoff · 28/10/2018 21:35

Definitely in the “wet patch on dh’s side” camp. Although, we’re usually both pretty quickly in a sex comatose state so tend not to notice. Sheets changed every week.

Squidgee · 28/10/2018 21:53

we always had a wet patch as we cuddled afterwards, but we'd then clean up with tissue and i'd give the bed sheet a clean with some wipes I kept by the bed, then we'd both go clean up, then get back into bed and cuddle.

Change the sheet in the morning.

We try and put a towel down before but don't always manage in which case we put it down after and sleep on it.

We always have a massive wet patch. The waterproof mattress protector wasn't waterproof enough Blush

MaryJenson · 28/10/2018 22:17

There is also the slight issue of our electric blanket not being wet patch compatible...

😂😂

MaryJenson · 28/10/2018 22:18

Only have morning sex here so bed is able to air throughout the day

Jocasta2018 · 28/10/2018 22:19

I head for the loo straight after PIV.
Not very romantic but after having frequent post-sex cystitis, my female GP advised peeing as soon as possible after the end of PIV (regardless of partner’s penis size).
Plus she also suggested washing in slightly cool water to cool the tissues down, a bit like Andy Murray & his ice baths..
So after PIV, I do as instructed. Sadly I don’t have a bidet so I fill an empty 500ml plastic bottle with coolish tap water then pour it over myself whilst sitting on the loo.
Having soothed all my tender bits then I can go back & snuggle further!
I don’t actually know if there’s any medical reason for what the GP suggested but I’ve not had cystitis since taking her advice.
So if there is a wet patch in my bed, it’s cold tap water!

"Are you sure you aren't thinking of picnic blankets?!"

Oblomov18 · 28/10/2018 22:21

Emojis not working !!

😁😁😁

TittyBoneGhoul · 28/10/2018 22:27

Not this again.

PoxAlert · 28/10/2018 22:30

Tissue by the bed. DH grabs it when we're both done but before he pulls out as we always cuddle a bit after so it's not like a "done - here's the tissue" romance killer. I hold it where it needs to be before a quick run to the loo.

You're meant to always pee after anyway so I'm headed that way anyway.

On the occasion there is a wet patch from one of us, if it's his side he puts up with it. My side I put a towel on top. Then change the bed the next day.

We have a mattress topper (for comfort) with a mattress protector on top. So no risk for the mattress anyway.

Oblomov18 · 28/10/2018 22:31

So, is OP stripping the bed Alfred every sexual encounter? every day? Twice a day? 😉

Only on MN do people wash their towels after only one use, strip beds daily.

The rest of us, change towels and bedding at regular intervals throughout the week/month/year.

Veryberrycherry · 28/10/2018 22:40

No we don't change sheets soon after but i usually swallow, spit, wipe tits with a baby wipe or condom/hold pelvic muscles. Depending on my mood.

agnurse · 28/10/2018 22:41

We just use a towel and fold it in half. I lie on it for awhile afterwards until everything is dry.

No wet patch on the bed.

LoniceraJaponica · 28/10/2018 23:09

It all sounds rather clinical to lay a towel on the bed.

sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 28/10/2018 23:27

I don't get a wet patch either. I feel deprived now. Also slightly wondering if my fanjo has Venus fly trap abilities.

We usually giggle a bit afterwards, snuggle up, have lovely mumbly afterglow chat, and then doze off. Unless of course he's waiting for me to snooze so that he can perform a clean up operation I am blissfully unaware of...

IzzyGrey · 29/10/2018 01:26

Omg. This is the most depressing AIBU I've ever read 😂 Surely that's the last thing on your mind? If not then you maybe need to lighten up!
