Have just purchased a handmade Christmas gift from a local Facebook seller. Lovely item, ideal gift for a friend and was glad to be “buying local”.

Have received the item, realised a little while later that the label from a well known bargain Swedish shop was left on (by accident I assume!).

AIBU to message the seller? I’m annoyed that I’ve paid almost £10 for something which she bought for less than £1Blush

I really want to know which well known Swedish shop item it is Grin

hmmwhatatodo · 28/10/2018 17:52

Cheeky. Was it advertised as Home made? Did she add some sparkle to it?

jjemimapuddleduck · 28/10/2018 17:52

Is it as bought from Ikea or upcycled? Lots of cheap frames/tealights/other Ikea crap can be upcycled into nice awful Facebook tat homemade things?

hmmwhatatodo · 28/10/2018 17:52

I’m guessing Tiger...

Solenti · 28/10/2018 17:53

ConfusedShock That's all almighty blunder from the seller!! I would definitely complain and review on Facebook with photos!!

Booksandwine80 · 28/10/2018 17:54

Advertised as “handmade and personalised”. Am I awful to think she’s actually a cheeky fucker but in the other hand think she’s a bloody genius Grin

OP posts:
jjemimapuddleduck · 28/10/2018 17:55

But has she personalised it and if so it is kind of handmade?

bringbackthestripes · 28/10/2018 17:55

Definitely review and post pictures to shame the seller. Ask for a refund.

jjemimapuddleduck · 28/10/2018 17:55

Can you show us?

MrTrebus · 28/10/2018 17:56

Most of these type of items are from Ikea but then personalised and jazzed up. That's what you're paying for the extra bits plus the time to add them. So actually not cheeky of them.

catkind · 28/10/2018 17:57

Has she enhanced/personalised said gift? Otherwise I'd be inclined to point out you know and ask for money back. (Or maybe post link to shop next time you see her fb advert?)

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 28/10/2018 17:57

Was it a meatball carved into the initial of your name?

YouBetterWOooOooOoo · 28/10/2018 17:58

Is it one of those things where they buy a basic cheapo frame for example, then chuck some glittery shite in there and on it to 'upscale' original cheapo frame?

TheOneWith · 28/10/2018 17:58

We need to see a picture. It’s something from IKEA isn’t it, with a bit of sparkly shit glued on.Grin

SaucyJack · 28/10/2018 17:59

Entirely depends on whether she’s bought the whole thing straight from IKEA, or just bought a basic frame or vase (or whatevs) and decorated it herself.

GunpowderGelatine · 28/10/2018 18:00

Picture before we judge please

greyspottedgoose · 28/10/2018 18:01

Pictures or it didn't happen 😂

BMOT · 28/10/2018 18:01

I REALLY want to see what it is !!

britnay · 28/10/2018 18:02

pics or it didn't happen

Racecardriver · 28/10/2018 18:03

Could you have done it yourself? Sometimes these kinds of things require real skill.

Booksandwine80 · 28/10/2018 18:05

Don’t want to put a picture in as it has the intended recipients surname on it which if the seller happens to see will out me!

It’s basically an Ikea item with some lettering added on (which is basically a label, unsure if she’s printed this herself of if she orders them from elsewhere)

Think I will have to put this one down to experience, the actual item is lovely but I do feel it’s a total rip off Hmm

@Booksandwine80 I had exactly the same from Etsy , described as handmade near enough same price. And when it came has the well known Swedish store sticky label on (which I can't get off) only thing added was some writing and a stick on heart !

Foodylicious · 28/10/2018 18:11

The additional £9 is to pay for her idea, her time, her resources and her skills.
£10 Sounds reasonable to me

MrsVietor · 28/10/2018 18:13

Tiger is Danish
