That a male just won a women’s cycling World Championship?

Can’t really get my mind round this tbh though i was aware of another male Laurel Hubbard taking medals in the Women’s Weight Lifting World Championships earlier this year. Are we really ready for males winning the Women’s Wimbledon Title and the women’s Olympic 100m Final?

And they want to prove that they are 'real' women.

Chalkhillblu3 · 20/10/2018 14:21

Same as they want to look more 'glamorous' that real women. And they have no shame about winning prizes meant for women.

Juells · 20/10/2018 14:36

I think if people literally turn off sports where females are unfairly pitted against males then sponsors might start reacting.

I think it would be worse than that - fewer watch women's sports anyway, if males started taking part women would stop watching as well, and it could all peter out.

MtF have an advantage because of bigger bones, lung capacity, higher testosterone levels. FtM have an advantage because they're taking testosterone. Natal women are at the bottom of the heap.

JamesBlonde1 · 20/10/2018 14:46

Just noticed an article in the Daily Mail about this - angled from the bronze medalist. A lot of sympathy for the lasses who didn’t win.

BigotedWoman · 20/10/2018 14:54

Could you link James?

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 20/10/2018 15:01

Someone on her twitter feed asked her opinion on transwomen and women fighting in the ring or octagon.
As yet unanswered.

waxy1 · 20/10/2018 15:15

Who remembers Ken Clean Air Systems v Petula Wilcox?

Many a true word is spoken in jest.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 20/10/2018 15:42

I had never seen that before waxy

dudsville · 20/10/2018 15:48

I'd like to know all the margins by which men are beating and winning women's sports and comparing those to the fastest women. Honestly.

Chalkhillblu3 · 20/10/2018 16:27

What's particularly rich is that drugs are banned in sports. But how do you become trans? Drugs.

thenightsky · 20/10/2018 19:22

divadee That DM video is quite funny. He's struggling to get a woman sized jersey on over his massive pecs Grin

Italiangreyhound · 20/10/2018 19:26

That video!

"I had never seen that before waxy" Ihopeyourcakeisshit (there must be a story behind that MN name!)

Me neither!

Italiangreyhound · 20/10/2018 19:30

I meant the boxing video.

Italiangreyhound · 20/10/2018 19:32

Testosterone is a natural drug that changes a body over years. Trans women's bodies have been affected by this drug, not just the amount in their system when they complete.

How strange that in some ways this issue actually seems to have more 'common, person in the street, appeal' than women's safety issues.

waxy1 · 20/10/2018 19:43

Ok here’s the rest of the Monty Python boxing thing. Not promising it’s stood the test of time.

puzzledlady · 20/10/2018 22:02

urghh - the guy who won is a cheat. Poor women who came in second and third.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 21/10/2018 10:11

She's compared the calls of being unfair to the Nazi party saying it was unfair that Jesse Owens ran in the olympics.

dementedma · 21/10/2018 10:15

I posted about this on my Facebook feed and was called Transphobic within the space of about 20 minutes.

AvoidingDM · 21/10/2018 10:41

Was there not something a few years ago when one of the female runners was investigated because she looked like male. It eventually came out she had 2 sets of sex organs. Sorry can't remember the correct name for it.

FekkoTheLawyer · 21/10/2018 10:58

Caster something? I believe she is now married and has a couple of kids.

JacquesHammer · 21/10/2018 11:00

I think you’re thinking of Caster Semenya

FekkoTheLawyer · 21/10/2018 11:02

Scratch that - she married a woman and she had children.

HobNobcentral · 21/10/2018 11:17

The Mail on Sunday (I know I know) has a story on this too.

I quickly scanned the comments There was one well this is equality....Hmm
The rest are WTF..

AvoidingDM · 21/10/2018 11:19

Yes thats who I was thinking about. Google tells me they are still questioning her naturally high testosterone levels and she may miss out on the 2019 season.

The mind totally boggles. So we have a person who is a woman, with female parts. But with abnormally high testosterone levels and she is vilified and obstacles put in her way.
But a man who thinks he is a woman but has a penis is allowed??

Confused
