Anyone else fancy explaining in words of one syllable? I'm still bunged up with cold.
But - bottom line, you either create a society where no accommodation is made whatsoever of human differences, thus cutting out a huge pool of human beings from full participation in politics, the workplace, etc. because they have the biological capacity to get pregnant, or are disabled, or...
Or you create a society to work round people's differences to give everyone an equal chance.
And therein lies the point. Things like maternity leave are women's rights, because only women can get pregnant. Pretty much all women's rights which are distinct from human rights come down to additional protections we need because of our biology. And tranwomen, being biologically male, do not need women's rights.
It's also interesting that the very few men's rights on the statute books, such as male primogeniture, were specifically excluded from the GRA. Kind of tells you who's writing this legislation, and in whose benefit...
