How much do you eat in a day?

I may be very unreasonable to ask this... and nosey... but I need to lose a bit of weight and I wonder if I tend to eat more or less than other people. My husband seems to eat very little really but is slightly overweight.

So, if you want to, hit me with your HONEST food diary for today/yesterday/a typical day.

Babygrey I agree, and these threads are pointless without knowing people's activity levels and size, or portion size of these foods.

I had no idea some many people log it like this. Some days a lot, some days very little. I walk about 5 miles a day, more at weekends, and do circuit training 3x/week at the gym and one spin class a week. I'm 50 and a size 10.

Far too much
😩
About ten cups of tea
Usually toast or porridge
Lunch is usally carbs again 🙈
Evening meal normally meat/rice based dishes
I’m a massive binger and think oh il eat that as a one off, but those one offs just so happen 3 times a week. Need a kick up the bum.
I’ve gained a stone on mat leave so just got the app “lose it” similar to my fitness pal but it gives reccomened calories for each meal which I need

5'6" - 8.5 stone - 39 - 2 kids (twins)

Perfectly healthy, regular blood work.

I don't eat that much tbh. I just don't have a big appetite at all. Most days I don't eat until the evening, and just share a home cooked pizza with DH.

The DC have a proper home cooked meal at lunchtime, and sometimes I'll have that. But I'm not bothered tbh. DH is the opposite and gets woozy if he doesn't eat very regularly.

All my family live well into their 90's, DH's 60 would be a good innings, so I don't know, maybe it has something to do with it?

Oh and to add to that. I don't eat dairy, sugar or any processed foods. I had enmdo, and I did the Endo Diet with huge success over 10 years years ago and have stuck to most of it.

What's your height and current weight op. You also need to add your gender and age and loserville will tell you your tdee ect.

I eat around 1550 cals a day. Sometimes 1700 so try to have a couple hundred less the next day.

Every hundred cals counts I'm afraid.

Every weekday is the same:
At work: x2 eggs, an apple and 1/3 of a brocolli.
Immediately after work: plain salad leaves, approx 1/4 cucumber, 1/3 pack Tilda rice with either prawns/mussels/salmon flakes. Followed by hand full of berries and a satsuma.

Gym - 10km run, or a spin class followed by weights class or yoga.

Post gym: salad leaves and avadcado or feta, or small bowl of soup and x2 quorn sausages. Followed by a handful of berries.

On a Friday and Sunday I have a salmon fillet, broccoli, half pack of rice and Caribbean jerk sauce. Followed by something sweet on a Friday, or berries on Sunday.

For dinner on a Saturday we have whatever we fancy. Usually huge tuna steak, but this weekend we are sharing a supermarket pizza.

I like knowing what I’m going to eat and not having to plan meals. Also, both of our bodies are pretty much where we want them to be, although we could cut back on the Fri/Sat night before holidays if we needed. Meals over Xmas will be pretty much the same, other than Xmas day when we’re eating out, but that will be our lunch/dinner in one sitting.

Breakfast: 2x weetabix, chopped banana, blueberries

Lunch: salad made with iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes, 2x boiled eggs, few slices of wafer thin ham

Dinner: pasta (probably about 100g dried weight) with home made tomato sauce and broccoli

Snack: apple and/or multipack size bag of mini cheddars if hungry

I don’t eat much sweet food, I have no sweet tooth, and am not much of a snacker but I do snack if hungry and don’t count calories.

This is a typical day but in the run up to Christmas I have had five meals out in ten days and am now sick of eating.

Exercise - about an hour, five days a week. Spin classes and pilates mainly. I’m at the top end of healthy BMI but losing weight, would like to drop a stone.

Can't believe how well some of you manage to eat - my diet is shite and I've been gradually putting on weight over the past 10yrs and it's getting to the point I need to do something about it. My new partner is tiny and probably weighs several stones less than I do. He doesn't think I'm fat but it's starting to bother me now.

My problem is that I work long hours plus a 4-5hr daily commute. I'm too shattered to exercise after work, can't take food with me to work as it arrives at work warm after various bus and train rides and don't want to risk food poisoning by whacking it back in the fridge. Tried soup and noodles etc but I'm starving after half an hour of eating. All there is to buy near work is McDonalds or very expensive posh but fatty sarnies in a local cafe.

I work away a lot which means lots of unhealthy foods and missed meals so snacking in between.
