My friend thinks it's unfair on the bridesmaids/bride?

Yep. Don't put her in that. Looks like you're desperate for her to be a bm/flower girl

SweepTheHalls · 24/09/2018 20:37

How old is DD? 3, fine, any bigger nope.

CatsGalore · 24/09/2018 20:37

YABU totally a bridesmaid dress. Even says it is. Put your child in since pretty normal dress or you will be THAT mother!

Croatoan · 24/09/2018 20:38

Nooo. No. Don't. Lots of pretty colourful dresses out there.

happymummy12345 · 24/09/2018 20:38

Unless she is a flower girl or bridesmaid then no, don't put her in it

veruka · 24/09/2018 20:39

Oh dear. Said DD can wear it (she begged) there's going to be lots of tears. It's completely my fault, I didn't see the issue.

She's 4.

You'll get answers saying it's fine, answers saying it isn't. Listen to the ones saying it isn't. It doesn't matter what your daughter wears provided she doesn't look like a wannabe bridesmaid. That dress advert literally has bridesmaid written all over it. Just pick something else.

Newjobnewstart · 24/09/2018 20:39

I wouldn't put my dd in a dress like that for q wedding, loads of gorgeous stuff without getting an actual bridesmaids dress. Are you annoyed she wasn't asked and making a statement?

FuckyDuzz · 24/09/2018 20:39

It’s a flower girl dress - if she’s not a flower girl then of course she shouldn’t wear it Confused

PiperPublickOccurrences · 24/09/2018 20:39

It even says "flower girl" on the description! Steer away from white. Choose something with a pretty pattern.

Tink2007 · 24/09/2018 20:39

It says it’s a dress for a flower girl. Choose something different.

cushioncovers · 24/09/2018 20:39

Looks like a flower girl dress. I wouldn't

Sparklesocks · 24/09/2018 20:39

That’s a flower girl dress, it will confuse people at the wedding. If I saw a little girl at a wedding wearing that I’d assume she was in the bridal party.

Bestseller · 24/09/2018 20:40

No don't do it. DD (assuming she's tiny) will be fine but everyone will think you're v odd and there's potential to offend the bride too

veruka · 24/09/2018 20:40

We already own the dress, hence I said she could.

ladyme · 24/09/2018 20:40

She's 4, it's fine! Most little girls party dresses look like that and little girls like dressing up for weddings. Enjoy it while you can.

Littlechocola · 24/09/2018 20:40

Ask the bride. Easy.

Soubriquet · 24/09/2018 20:41

That to me is just a party dress. It’s pretty. I wouldn’t have a problem with it

LokiBear · 24/09/2018 20:43

Id put a pink cardigan with it. I think its fine. She is 4.

PorkFlute · 24/09/2018 20:43

I wouldn’t have a problem with it but I strongly suspect some people would.

Croatoan · 24/09/2018 20:43

What about this?

To let DD wear this dress to a wedding?
sadnessin · 24/09/2018 20:43

Literally says

"Perfect for bridesmaid or flower girl duties" on the description!

PiperPublickOccurrences · 24/09/2018 20:44

It's really not fine - it's not a party dress, it's a flower girl dress. If you make it into a treat to go shopping and choosing something new you won't get tears.

TulipsInBloom1 · 24/09/2018 20:44

Thats a flower girl dress.

Courtney555 · 24/09/2018 20:44

She can't wear that. If you've already told her she can, look at ways to minimise her upset. "We're choosing a new dress for the wedding, we're going to save this one for Sunday when we go to nanny's House for a princess tea, yaaaay!" or whatever she's in too.
