Way too adult. I'd say no too.

helpmum2003 · 21/09/2018 07:33

Totally inappropriate.

Agree leave at Dad's.

QueenOfMyWorld · 21/09/2018 07:38

No appropriate for a 12 yr old

fieryginger · 21/09/2018 07:52

Yanbu. Too grown up.

Peridot1 · 21/09/2018 07:55

Inappropriate yes. But for a few hours every other weekend I would make my feelings clear but then leave it. Pick your battles. The shoes she wears day in day out are more important.

SlimDogMillionaire · 21/09/2018 08:13

Bit high imo

DeltaZulu89 · 21/09/2018 08:37

They come in a flat version, maybe she would find those a good compromise?

Branleuse · 21/09/2018 08:46

far too high and far too expensive for a child thats feet are still growing. Not as if she would get several winters out of them

JossWhedonIsAGenius · 21/09/2018 08:57

I'm loving all the comments about how mumsy, middle aged and unfashionable the boots are. Grin DD would be appalled.

brizzledrizzle - brilliant idea about getting a pair for myself and commenting on what great mum boots they are. Sadly I couldn't afford to spend that kind of money on boots even if I wanted to. That's pretty much our combined shoe budget for an entire year and good, properly-fitted school shoes always get first dibs.

I think I'll send them back to her dad and point him towards info on the potential damage that high heels do, especially on the body of a still-developing child.

Thanks for all the input.

I wouldn't want a girl her age to wear them a) because they aren't good for her feet and b) they would be far too easy to make look slutty. On an adult they'd be fine, but on a kid, they'd look like she's trying to look older than she is.

Helpimfalling · 21/09/2018 09:27

Oh god no to old for her

sleepylittlebunnies · 21/09/2018 09:27

I’ve never even spent that much on boots for myself so no DD wouldn’t have them unless she wanted to save her pocket money.

BobLemon · 21/09/2018 09:36

Her Dad dropped £170 on boots for a 12yr old? FML.

Thurmanmurman · 21/09/2018 10:00

Could you compromise and go for a similar style with a lower heel?

Ennirem · 21/09/2018 10:06

To high and too expensive. But stylewise they're just a lace up boot, I don't see what's so adult about that.

Ennirem · 21/09/2018 10:09

Also can't believe people still use the word 'slutty' Hmm

dinosaurkisses · 21/09/2018 10:20

I quite like them- they’d be nice in that 90’s fashion that’s come back in. Thick black tights, a mini skirt and a striped polo neck. But I’m nearly 30.

When I was 12 I had a Harry Potter jumper and some flared jeans from M&S. I thought I was the bee’s knees.

L0kiWh0 · 21/09/2018 10:42

They’re not ideal, but I don’t see the harm in an occasional wear of them. Different if they were for school but a few hours at the weekend isn’t going to hurt.

The slutty, stripper comments are uncalled for.

OurMiracle1106 · 21/09/2018 10:57

I think the heel may be too high but the style in flat would be ok so long as worn with leggings or jeans and not a short skirt. In fact in the cold weather they would be nice and warm.

That's the point being high and expensive makes them an adults item!

DaffodilPower · 21/09/2018 12:55

The price is way too much for a 12 year old, but otherwise, over a pair of nice jeans I don't see why not?

Losingthewill1 · 21/09/2018 13:00

Why are people sexualising shoes?

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 21/09/2018 13:09

Why are people sexualising shoes?

Why do you think so many adult women's shoes have high heels?

MrMeSeeks · 21/09/2018 13:45

I dont have a problem with them.
I had super strict parents and even my dad got me a pair similar to these ( except they were black patent) at a similar age.
I loved those boots!
Didn't do me any damage either.
