To ask you to care that ANOTHER paedophile MALE who targeted girls, who claims to be a woman has been moved to a woman's prison. Having got a GRC IN PRISON FFS

seafret · 18/09/2018 13:50

The title says it all..

He targeted young girls and married a convicted paedophile (who is now released) wonder what he is up to now?
www.thesun.co.uk/news/7281372/transsexual-paedophile-moved-womens-prison/

Why are we letting this happen? He is not female. A GRC or gender dysphoria is no bar to commtting sex offences against women and girls. Why is it males doctors who allow the GRC? And male judges who allow the transfers to be made?

Do you want these crimes being recorded as being committed by women? These men identify as women, not with women, but what does their behaviour show of their true gender, their behaviour, their sex?

www.thesun.co.uk/news/7281372/transsexual-paedophile-moved-womens-prison/

Also Stephen Wood/Karen White www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/09/06/transgender-person-accused-rape-remanded-female-prison-sexually/ a repeated rapist of women including a disabled girl, who then assuated 4 women in a women's prison.

Oh and Martin Ponting/JessicaWinfield www.thesun.co.uk/news/7281372/transsexual-paedophile-moved-womens-prison/

And countless others www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3337063-RESOURCE-THREAD-Transwomen-in-Women-s-Prisons

This not at all the same as gay rights or lesbian rights. It has nothign to do with being fun and wearing nail varnish.

Many transgendered males are causing harm to women and girls, and also seeking to hide their brith sex and sexual crimes. I cannot find the link right now but on the Feminism Chat board there is a link to a trans gender male who wants to have crimes recorded when he was a man erased so that no one looking at his criminal history will know he is born a male. This will set a dangerous precedent that could include wiping rape (a crime that can only be committed with a penis so is indicative of the true sex of the offender) from the crimes of a transgendered male.

Trans acitivsts openly admit to using litiagtion to furhter their casue away form the public spotlight. This is not human rights, this is the cynical abuse and manipulation of the human rights movement, and the compassion of many everyday people.

oh and David Challenor a paedophile who dressed up ain an adult nappy and girls clothes to abuse and torture a real young girl Independent after being convicted of cruelty to animals and having his children taken into care. He was also a scout elader and gynatics coach. AND GREEN PARTY ACTIVIST who campainged with the adult child for males who identify as women to be housed in women's prisons.

And whose child Aimee Challenor (aged 20 ish now) a former Green Party activist is a male who identifies as trans and as a woman, but also wears adult nappies, and has a sexual fetish for dressing as a 'cute' animal and identitfies as being of other ages and is in polyamorous relationships with other trans people with the same fetishes, who was recently suspended from the Green Party for using thier father as their election agent AFTER their father was charged. The Times

No doubt Aimee came from a terrible upbringing, being taken into care etc, but can we really say that being trans is always innate and benign as activists claim? Does it really have nothing to do with upbringing or possible historical abuse/ neglect etc? Or for girls the pressures of sexual harrasment and constant sexualising and feminsing of women?

Stonewall are campaigning to have the trans umbrella cast ever wider and to allow self ID to that any man may say he is a legal woman.

Please THINK women and men of AIBU.

male-bodied

Below is a link to the GRA consultation. There are only a few days to get women's voices heard.

consult.education.gov.uk/government-equalities-office/reform-of-the-gender-recognition-act/

This is a link to Fairplay For Women. They have advice on how to fill out the consultation document
fairplayforwomen.com/

I've done this now.

Ereshkigal · 18/09/2018 19:26

The Scottish Prison service has also not bothered to ask women prisoners, women's groups - women generally about the impact of including male-bodies prisoners in women's prisons

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3369292-The-Scottish-Prison-Service-has-not-assessed-the-impact-of-including-transwomen-in-the-female-estate-on-female-prisoners

That thread is shocking. So much contempt for women.

HawkeyeInConfusion · 18/09/2018 19:45

to protect a rapist from other men, we put them amongst women

So these vulnerable female prisoners (including teenage girls) are being used as a human shield to protect this rapist.

They don't consent to it. They aren't even given a chance to object. They are just told that is how it will be.

VickyEadie · 18/09/2018 19:46

If anyone was in any doubt that women are being thrown under the bus - surely not now?

GreenGloves · 18/09/2018 22:15

This is appalling.

CrackpotsArePots · 18/09/2018 22:27

Excellent BigKite

Out of interest, were you aware of this before?

Stilettosandan0venglove · 19/09/2018 07:43

This is absolutely fucking ridiculous and horrifying. I'll be emailing my MP too.

Everyone should be free to be the gender they wish, but some things - especially prisons for god's sake - must be segregated by sex.

SandyY2K · 19/09/2018 07:46

It's shocking. Totally shocking. The world (not all of it) is becoming absolutely ridiculous with this nonsense.

bigKiteFlying · 19/09/2018 12:48

Out of interest, were you aware of this before?

No - though I do go to FWR but don't have time to read all the threads it's possible I've missed it or read about it and forgotten.

This made me annoyed enough to fill out there and then round a host of busy evening activities and demands on my time and attention.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 19/09/2018 15:29

Disgusting.

CrackpotsArePots · 19/09/2018 15:41

BigKite

Excellent. That's why it's so important to get things out on AIBU too. the consultation is so fecking long and based on a really ridiculous assumption, but it's a sign how fired up we busy women are that we want to fill it in.

response to Women&Girls inScotland FOI request :

"Please see our statement below in response to an FOI that has been shared with us which reveals that the Scottish Prison Service has not considered the impact of their transgender policies on female inmates. The FOI can be found here: www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/equality_and_human_rights_impact
link:
twitter.com/WG_Scotland/status/1042080194557816832

This failure to do an impact assessments for females in prisons mirrors the failure to do impact assesments for other pupils, especially girls in Scottish schools when implementing the new trans-rights policies.
www.heraldscotland.com/news/16311379.schools-forget-girls-in-rush-to-adopt-pro-trans-guidance-campaigners-claim-as-christian-group-threatens-legal-action/

Its also a common issue with UK trans-inclusive sporting policies, guiding etc

To ask you to care that ANOTHER paedophile MALE who targeted girls, who claims to be a woman has been moved to a woman's prison. Having got a GRC IN PRISON FFS
2BorNot2Bvocal · 19/09/2018 16:38

When did we decide safeguarding was an out of date notion?
The erasure of a person's former identity through changing gender has proven not to be in the interests of society. For anyone who wants to be trans and is not a criminal / has no criminal intent, go ahead and dress how you want, use whatever name you want and I'll call you by it but is it really a sacrifice too far that on a government system ID you would be down as Fabulous Fran (previously Fierce Fred)?

IHATEPeppaPig · 19/09/2018 17:18

I've also completed the GRA response now - this is ludicrous and when I've discussed this with others they literally think I'm insane - until I point out the facts and to real life incidents.

This has to stop.

seafret · 19/09/2018 21:10

Sorry I haven't been back for a while. Real life got in the way!

There is so much info over on the Feminism boards and Rowantrees is especially excellents at compiling links and resources.

Does anyone still need a template? My own letter is rather specific so wasn't really able to cut and paste. Also I wouldn't want to put words in your mouths and dictate your thoughts (as some others would) - far better to speak from your heart.

We can win this. Women have inalienable female sex-based rights (until taken by force by men). Women have suffered sex-based oppresson by men for millenia. It is a human rights crime that our women's rights were taken and given to some men, or worse any man that wants them.

Now we are so 'progressive' that we put female targeting paedophiles and rapists in prison with women and girls.

History will definitely judge us badly for letting that happen on our watch. Not that many decent people had a real clue.

I am so, so angry that this has all happened behind the scences while I have been ill and being a carer and with housing shit and homelessness to deal with for years, too distracted with basic surviving to read more and to realise what is happening until now. I feel my circumstances and powerlessness has been exploited and manipulated by those working secretly behind the scenes to achieve this entirely predictable and horrific outcome. Peak trans indeed. FFS.

I AM FURIOUS

Another case of this here. The report is worth reading. This particular prisoner appears to be one invited to speak at the House of Lords.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3370661-2009-case-of-a-judge-ordering-an-intact-male-rapist-into-a-female-prison-because-he-had-a-GRC

Butterymuffin · 20/09/2018 09:09

only one doctor is needed to report on a trans male having gender dysphoria

Yet two doctors are still needed to sign off a woman having a termination, is that correct? There's your continuing need for feminism right there.

OrchidInTheSun · 20/09/2018 09:22

Karen Lawson didn't just rape the shop assistant, "The court was told Lawson had forced a lemon into the woman's mouth, punched her in the face and held her by the hair in a back room of the shop."
www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/jail-for-rape-bid-by-sex-change-man-1150286

She thought she was going to die.

www.pinknews.co.uk/2018/01/24/these-powerful-stories-from-two-trans-ex-offenders-remind-us-why-we-need-to-support-trans-rights-today/
Here's a revolting interview with Lawson and another criminal where neither of them make any reference to their crimes or appear to show any remorse at all. It's all me, me, me.

I'm sickened by this shit

R0wantrees · 20/09/2018 10:23

From the Pink News article linked above, Karen Lawson's case set the precident for prisoners to obtain GRC whilst serving their sentences and presumably the the response and subsequent policies of the MofJ.

KL's move to female estate was initially blocked by the Home Office but was successfully challenged on appeal.

"Karen Lawson was the first legally recognised transgender prisoner after enduring a three-year court battle to get her status recognised. She now has a full-time job as a manager and is an active trans rights campaigner."

"Unfortunately, I got took into custody on April 14 2000. I started living as myself when I was 16, so I went into Forest Bank as Karen, but it was still early days and I didn’t know what to do. I got assaulted, I got knocked out. I then got put down into the segregation unit as an element of protection. I then got moved across to Strangeways when I was an adult. They said until I was 21, they would refuse to help me out. It couldn’t happen in the youth offender estate.

I was given the male uniform, even though I had long hair and I had to wear this beautiful corned beef jumper. There was thankfully a doctor there who was really caring and understanding, and I started on my hormones in 2003.

Obviously, quite a lot of physical changes started to happen, which made me stick out even more. There were cries of “get your tits out for the lads” when I was on exercise. I was also put on the VP wing, which is not the best wing for someone trans. You’ve got all of these lovely guys making approaches. I did get taken hostage when I was at Strangeways, but fortunately, the staff were really good, and one of the staff was a kickboxer. Then they actually created a compact of how my care and management. It allowed me to have at least some of my clothes.

Then the Gender Recognition Act came out. Fortunately with some help from my personnel officer, and obviously, personal evidence of gender dysphoria, I got my gender recognition granted, making me the first trans prisoner within the UK to get a gender recognition certificate granted. When I could turn around to the wing and say I’m now legally female, move me, they really didn’t know what to do.

That still took a three-year high court battle. It took a judge there to say “no, she’s legally female, she needs to be moved in 28 days.” In 2009, I got moved to Holloway. It wasn’t all peaches and roses in the female estate either, but it was great to finally be in that prison with my peers. I didn’t have to wake up and worry about what I was wearing in the morning. Because I’d come from the male estate, there was this supposition that they’d have to take precautions.

For the first three months I was kept in segregation. I was let out on day release visits up to the wing to test how I was getting on. I went to Newhall for four years, and it was a great place for me, because the equality manager was phenomenal. She started to build my confidence up."

NothingOnTellyAgain · 20/09/2018 11:29

I more or less read the PN news piece above and I couldn't see that they referenced the crimes that Karen committed anywhere?

The fact is that Karen may have got beated up as Karen was a rapist and my understandign is that sex offenders are often not well liked in prison?

The first case with teh intersex individual sounds like a nightmare and sounds like it was handled badly although a lot of it was worded very oddly.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 20/09/2018 11:30

"Unfortunately, I got took into custody on April 14 2000"

Oh that was infortunate after that violent attempted rape you poor thing.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 20/09/2018 11:37

" Because I’d come from the male estate, there was this supposition that they’d have to take precautions."

???????????????

Not at all because you had a conviction for an extremely violent sex attack on a woman?

Jesus christ.

This person advised parliament.

And as for Penis News that can go fuck themselves.

I have lost all patience with this entire topic.

Men and women are different and have different needs. Men are responsible for most violent crime all over the world and the vast majority of sex offences with their preferred victims beign women and girls. Women and older girls are at risk of pregnancy if they are assaulted which is a massive additional risk factor. Women on average are smaller and weaker than men. There are excellent reasons for separating people in certain circumstances by whether they are dicky or cunty. And I don't care if anything has been cut off or not. If the men are awful to men who have had this surgery then that is a problem for teh male estate to handle or a different wing or sometihng ANYTHING but putting men in women's prison.

These recent stories - the litany of stories of leading activists for the trans community being creepy fucking perverts + women getting sexually assaulted in prison becasue some fucker (or fuckers - who need to be HELD TO ACCOUNT) thought it was a good idea to lock a transwoman in with them who was convicted of multiple sex offences...

Nope I have had enough. Hard line is drawn. Cunts this side dicks that side. Gender is regressive sexist bollocks. 92000000 gender IDs = personality. Men can wear dresses if they want. Fuck off out of our spaces.

R0wantrees · 20/09/2018 11:38

From the Manchester Evening News article linked above, Lawson had also killed a man, Michael Cutler:

"The attack happened just days after Lawson had been released from jail on licence after serving part of a five-year sentence for the manslaughter of his partner Michael Cutler, after he reneged on a deal to pay for his sex-change operation.

Beverley Lunt, prosecuting, said Lawson's victim had been in fear for her life in the attack."
