Why are we letting this happen? He is not female. A GRC or gender dysphoria is no bar to commtting sex offences against women and girls. Why is it males doctors who allow the GRC? And male judges who allow the transfers to be made?

Do you want these crimes being recorded as being committed by women? These men identify as women, not with women, but what does their behaviour show of their true gender, their behaviour, their sex?

This not at all the same as gay rights or lesbian rights. It has nothign to do with being fun and wearing nail varnish.

Many transgendered males are causing harm to women and girls, and also seeking to hide their brith sex and sexual crimes. I cannot find the link right now but on the Feminism Chat board there is a link to a trans gender male who wants to have crimes recorded when he was a man erased so that no one looking at his criminal history will know he is born a male. This will set a dangerous precedent that could include wiping rape (a crime that can only be committed with a penis so is indicative of the true sex of the offender) from the crimes of a transgendered male.

Trans acitivsts openly admit to using litiagtion to furhter their casue away form the public spotlight. This is not human rights, this is the cynical abuse and manipulation of the human rights movement, and the compassion of many everyday people.

oh and David Challenor a paedophile who dressed up ain an adult nappy and girls clothes to abuse and torture a real young girl Independent after being convicted of cruelty to animals and having his children taken into care. No doubt Aimee came from a terrible upbringing, being taken into care etc, but can we really say that being trans is always innate and benign as activists claim? There are very, very few female sex offenders. Because some crimes commtted by males/transwomen are recorded by self declared gender rather than their birth sex it makes it difficult to find truely acurate figures on exactly at what rate transgender males are committing sex offences (hmm, funny that) but I would bet that there are more trans identifying males in prison for sex offences than there are females.

That is quite something when women are 51% of the population isn't it.

And the trans population is apparently so small (Stonewall says around 600,000 which includes females identifying as men) that no one will even notice the effects of self ID. Hmm.

We must not be a society which locks up vulnerable women with sex offenders. This is a scandal.

I urge you to write to your MP, to the MoJ, to your local councillors, the prison and to any authority who you think may be able to help these women. If you are local to the prison might I suggest visiting your MP to ask why this has been allowed to happen.

We can stop this by writing to our MPs. It doesn't have to be long or detailed or in fancy language. Just to show your concerns about safeguarding or whatever it is that you want to say.

We can still provide care for trans people who are suffering but we need some critical thinking about our strategies. Being trans is complicated. As with any humans, one answer does not fit all.

I cried with despair reading about this earlier. It is a total and utter disgrace. Most of those women will have been abused by men just like him, yet he is allowed to get a GRC WHILE IN PRISON FOR SEX CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN. The GRC is becoming a way of criminals wiping their past clean. There is no longer any need for a GRC which was created to allow the tiny numbers of transsexuals to marry someone of the same sex. Half of trans prisoners are sex offenders ( all of them male at the moment, sex crime is vanishingly rare amongst women) . Policy is to house men in the estate that matches their “gender identity”. Whatever crime they have committed clearly matters not one jot. Shove them in with the women.

Essentially a biological male sex offender can get a GRC and wipe out their criminal history. Baffling that people think this is ok.

Lost for words - so disgusted - the wilful blindness to the impact of poor policy on women and the unrelenting, systemic overriding of their boundaries in favour of men has to stop - enough is enough.

It is not rocket science to impact assess changes in policy - what's lacking is the will to do so. Many men do not recognise women as deserving of equity - why are we putting up with this flagrant abuse? And it's not only prisons where this is happening.

I think there is a lot of impact in people using their own words to express their concerns. We don't have to give them all the answers, just asking the question and expressing deep concern and asking for this to stop is enough.

There is a lot of info on the feminism board, but also some vital points:

We are 'told' that we are safeguarded by the Equality Act and that organisaitons and prisons etc can give all single sex exemptions, but for various reasons these are not being applied - arguably that male suffering is seen to score more highly than women's suffering or risk and so the male offenders rights (demands) are given priority.

I think we should be asking why women's risks and concerns have so little value and why these exemptions are not being used.

We are told that gender self ID (any male legally identifying as a woman by self declaration only) poses no risk, but how can that be true if this already occurs under the present system.

Also unless women's toilets (for example) are specifically and clearly affirmed as female only with single sex exemptions applying, these males with a GRC WILL be using women's toilets (etc) when they get out of prison. Fancy sharing with one at a train station or cinema or shopping mall?

We also need to ask our men if they would be happy for their daugthers, sisters, wives, mothers to have to. Mens voices carry more weight sadly.

A focused letter is generally very useful, and that can refer to concerns about self ID more generally. *The important thing is that the MP gets a letter or email. And as many as possible. A separate one from each concerned person, not from a couple together. You can always follow it up with other information and questions later. They work for us remember (apparently!)

Other questions/ issues;

Who is on the prison panels making these decisions about trans males?

Also, only one doctor is needed to report on a trans male having gender dysphoria and so where are the checks and balances. How many docotrs are on the apprived list. Are there any female doctors on this list? Are there any trans doctors on this list?
