AIBU to be shocked that the NSPCC cancelled their Facebook Live session with Mumsnetters, because they didn't like the questions? That they can't explain why they aren't putting children in danger?

I am reeling from this - Mumsnet promoted a Facebook Live for Thursday 12.30... to talk about keeping Kids safe from Abuse, and to publicise their PANTS and SpeakOut StaySafe campaigns.

NSPCC just didn't turn up - and only 4 hours later published a brief statement that said nothing!!!! So lots of people waiting for a no show.

It is fine for them to have the policies they have - IF THEY CAN EXPLAIN that they really are in all children's best interests and that they aren't putting girls at risk..... They haven't even tried to do that... Just ignored us and run. Ignored MUMSNET - which is full of people who raise or give money to the NSPCC, and who use it.

HOW??? I am bewildered beyond words.....

Oh ... and hopefully clicky link here of the questions Mumsnetters asked - really thoughtful cogent ones!

It absolutely was NOT deleted as feminists banged on and on about the GRA.

I can only tell you what the deletion message said... and it said that it was.

Definitely off this time.

RatRolyPoly · 05/09/2018 16:23

Toodaloo Eresh, miss you already.

Ereshkigal · 05/09/2018 16:24

Likewise hun x

Mrbatmun · 05/09/2018 16:24

Bye Rat, see you again soon for some more cherry picking!

tillytop · 05/09/2018 16:29

None of this matters to Rat. She's confirmed she no longer feels the need for what she calls smaller than slim preventative effects. No concern for other women and girls, just herself and transwomen. Many of us want to hang on to these slim prevention, she clearly doesn't. I wonder why that is?

Vickyyyy · 05/09/2018 16:32

I know what the deletion message said, and it was not the case. As anyone who was on the thread can tell you. You were not on the thread, so I don't know why you are arguing about the content of the thread tbh!

Lazypoolday · 05/09/2018 16:34

Interesting how a few posters have brought up the report showing an increase in assaults and voyeuristic incidents in unisex facilites and that has been ignored. Cherry picking indeed.

titchy · 05/09/2018 16:34

I have opinions about how best to go about that for each and every one of those instances.

I'd be interested in hearing those rat at some point.

tillytop · 05/09/2018 16:46

I can't get my head around the fact that another woman would want to do away with preventative measures, no matter how small. She seems to think we should all just be watchful in the toilets, etc. Ffs, is this really the future for women and girls?

Datun · 05/09/2018 16:53

Some people have very odd ideas tillytop. They struggle to take others' experience into account.

Sex segregation is a highly evidenced assault prevention measure.

So hoops must be jumped through, to promote its demise.

It just isn't complicated. Despite people making it so.

tillytop · 05/09/2018 17:04

And why can't people see that it's nothing against decent (for want of a better word) transwomen. It's simply continuing the protection of women and girls. Surely we all owe that much to ourselves and each other? Anyway, OP, to get back on track, YANBU to be shocked that NSPCC cancelled their live session and that they can't explain why they feel they're not putting children in danger.

Your point being?

Datun · 05/09/2018 17:11

Sex segregation is a highly evidenced assault prevention measure

It still is

BettyDuMonde · 05/09/2018 17:12

Crikey - surely no transfeminine person will want to share women’s single sex spaces now!

No more debate necessary, ladies!

Anyone got any biscuits?

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 05/09/2018 17:16

When I was stuck on a late night train with a man who thought it was OK to sit and masturbate in my general direction the BTP said that this was a common problem on trains and that this was how some men got their kicks. CCTV did not prevent him from doing that to me. Furthermore the CCTV was not of "high enough quality" for them to identify who the man was or what he was doing.

It's this. It's just sitting in the changing room with your cock out claiming you were just relaxing, or changing, scratching your fungal infection (true story!) It's not having a wee in a room next to a man. Of course it isn't. You lie, you minimise, you obfuscate, again again again...

And thanks for finding your definition of a woman. It was stupid but thanks anyway.

What are you Rat? Really just a lovely ally who loves the trans? Here all day every day arguing, arguing (lying and obfuscating). There aren't even any actual TRA's putting in the hours you are. And after the last couple of weeks of seeing what is really lurking in theTRA closet even little Owen is deleting his tweets and pretending he's too caught up with anti-semitism to notice the furries in the woodshed.

Do you not wonder if it might actually now be time to hang up the blue and pink baseball bat and take up baking?

birdsdestiny · 05/09/2018 17:16

Indeed under no circumstances will they want to take a risk from those hordes of violent women.

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 05/09/2018 17:17

Ah. And we're back to anecdata.

tillytop · 05/09/2018 17:21

Betty Grin Grin sorry, not laughing at the poor woman who's been beaten, laughing with Betty.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 05/09/2018 17:21

Fabulous summing up vickyyy

SpiritedLondon · 05/09/2018 17:26

Sorry got distracted... my point being there’s a danger in being fixated with one type of risk. Sometimes it’s the bitch with the vagina in the next cubicle

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 05/09/2018 17:27

Well i wouldnt go calling random womyn in the next cubicle bitches Shock

That'll deffo not end well

ShrodingersSturdyPyjamas · 05/09/2018 17:27

How many years has that been used to show a poster is not posting in good faith?

SpiritedLondon · 05/09/2018 17:28

Jesus, baking gets a bad rap on this thread
