We have booked and paid to go to London for a concert tomorrow night.
Leaving at 6.30 pm tonight
She rang a hour ago saying she was ill with sickness bug and can't go.
It's too late to find anyone else to go.
So I'm loosing out on £90 train
£150 hotel and £79 concert ticket :-(
Do I go alone?
I know I won't enjoy it alone tho
Tomorrow was meant to be shopping then concert ..coming home on Saturday
Gutted

I'd go alone and enjoy the peace.
Are you sure there's no one to take her ticket?

pippy002 · 30/08/2018 15:30

Nobody ..all my friends have kids and too short notice for sitters etc.
Think it's too late to sell my tickets now too plus can't get train refund or hotel

I'd definitely go alone.

Dishwashersaurous · 30/08/2018 15:31

Go on your own. Enjoy the concert

JaneDarcy · 30/08/2018 15:31

Go alone! Even if you don't go to the concert you'll have a fab time roaming around London, ordering room service, lounging in the hotel bath/bed. I've never gone to a concert alone - - or with anyone else I don't like them - - but I could definitely fill a day in London. Museums, galleries, cinemas, shops, parks, cafés.
Lucky you!!

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 30/08/2018 15:31

I don't blame you for being disappointed but if she's come down with a sickness bug it's not her fault, however short notice it is. I would still try messaging friends, putting something on Facebook etc seeing if anyone else wants to go. You never know, someone else might have had their plans fall through too and bite your hand off!

TheHobbitMum · 30/08/2018 15:31

Absolutely go on your own, often going solo can be very peaceful & relaxing!

kaytee87 · 30/08/2018 15:32

Do none of your friends have husbands or partners to look after the children? My DH would have no problem with me doing this last minute and leaving 2yo ds with him.

Chapterandverse · 30/08/2018 15:32

Can you post on social media to see if someone else wants to go with you?

Gillian1980 · 30/08/2018 15:32

Oh no!
Can’t be helped though if she’s really poorly.

I’d still go alone, no point in missing out. I’ve been to concerts alone in similar circumstances and still enjoyed the show.

FASH84 · 30/08/2018 15:32

Go alone, put something on FB there might be someone who can join you tomorrow for the concert

TanteRose · 30/08/2018 15:33

Go go go!!!!
London is fab on your own and I often go to gigs/festivals by myself Smile

InProgress · 30/08/2018 15:33

Go for it. It's very liberating traveling alone. I took myself off to New York to see the sights and a few shows. It was brill.

Dumbledoresgirl · 30/08/2018 15:33

Go on your own. It's miserable I agree, but more miserable too to not go when you could. Depending on who is giving the concert, I am pretty sure you could find a buyer for the spare ticket at the venue.

Oldraver · 30/08/2018 15:33

Just go on your own. I cant imagine wasting all that money.

If you cant get someone to join you, take the ticket with you as you may be able to sell it

0nTheEdge · 30/08/2018 15:33

Honestly I'd go alone. If at any point you're not enjoying it you could go back to the hotel for a hot bath and a relax? Pack yourself a face mask or something as a fall back treat. But I bet you'll enjoy it just fine at the gig.

museumum · 30/08/2018 15:34

I would definitely go alone!

Hidillyho · 30/08/2018 15:34

Go on your own. I agree you’ll have a fab time in London even if you don’t go to the concert.
If I could get the time off work I would go with you Grin

Shmithecat · 30/08/2018 15:34

Go alone!!!!

allthgoodusernamesaretaken · 30/08/2018 15:35

Your friend can't help it if she is ill. In your shoes, I probably wouldn't go to the concert On my own, but I think I might still go to London

liz70 · 30/08/2018 15:35

Is it a band or singer? If they have a fan forum or FB fan group, check if there's a meet up being held in a nearby pub beforehand.

allgoodinthehood · 30/08/2018 15:36

Seriously go as you can do this. If you miss out you will be disappointed. At least this way you've tried

GreenTulips · 30/08/2018 15:38

Get packing and go!

CherieBabySpliffUp · 30/08/2018 15:39

Would you be able to get a refund on your concert tickets if you took them back to the box office today/ tomorrow morning? I would still go and enjoy London.

lackingimagination · 30/08/2018 15:39

Don’t assume nobody will want to go without asking!
